I am talking about the players on their team....most of them. Even Ryan Norman was supposed to be better than he has been so far. They just aren't producing. Many of the players on their team were great college prospects, it just hasn't materialized this year. Minny has the pick of the litter (in almost all cases) and their kids were all were good players before heading to college. Most of them could have gone to any other college in the country. The problem with MN is not talent, it's that they don't play the game the right way. Kids on their lowers lines won't accept that they are lower line players. For the past two years their locker room has been non stop drama. Back to the point, all I was saying is that their roster has many talented individuals. In a one and done tourney, that can sometimes cause problems. I do agree with you on one thing though, I too don't think they'll make it.

Yeah, just Notre Dame. You're right, I will go back to RMU's schedule. The Big10 is not good, although I would argue they are better than the WCHA, but the AHC is terrible. Check out the bottom 15 of the pairwise. I get it that MN is having a tough year, but on paper they SHOULD be good. Not that talent will always produce wins (obviously), but in a one and done tourney I would rather play a team with less talent. RMU's top 2 guys look pretty decent, especially that Lynch kid (good numbers from soph year on) however the Gophs have much more talent (on paper).

its easy to say that because we don't like the gophs but I know who is more talented. RMU has a few nice NC wins but overall their schedule is terrible. MN has my money on who's a better team. Lastly, I wouldn't want the emotional drain after that first game. We'd match up much better against RMU from a depth perspective.

I saw Anderson dress as well, didn't see Tomek although I could have easily missed him. Honestly, the Tomek situation is one of the weirder things I have seen at UND is some time.

I would much rather play RMU.

I hope so. There was a lot of rumbling last night regarding his compete level. However, it was only one game and he did make a nice play to win the game. Sometime big lanky kids like that have a "lazy stride". You're right, he'll hit the weights pretty hard here. If he is a 3rd round (or later) draft pick I would like to see him play a full year in the USHL prior to coming here. He needs to grow into his body a bit. As a disclaimer, I've only seen him play twice. However, I've came away with the same thoughts both games. When you watch Mittelstadt (sp?) or Tufte play you see a whole different level of "game changer".

I thought hain was pretty dang good, worked really hard. Other than the game winning pass I didn't notice Mattson much at all.

phenomenal player, probably a top 10 or 15 pick in '17. Every time I watch him in shocked how much better he is then everyone else.

He averaged a point per game his junior year of high school playing for the Lincoln Stars, slightly fell off his senior year for the same team. One thing to note is that LJ played with a guy (Kevin Roy) who completely tore up the USHL so is junior year numbers were pretty inflated. LJ was taken off Roy's line toward the end of the year and during the playoffs and that is when I saw a significant decline in his numbers. LJ would have shredded high school hockey his junior and senior years of high school (had he played at that lower level) simply due to his shot. He averaged a pt/gm as an 8th grader.

I agree that this kid may be talented and he is obviously pretty fast. I am not saying he won't play college hockey I am simply wondering whether a team like UND would give him an offer this early without seeing him play junior A hockey. Bowen dominated single A hockey for more than a year and now he is somewhat struggling in a high offensive junior league on a team that is absolutely stacked. My point is that high school hockey (especially single A) vs juniors is an entire different ball game (as is juniors to college). Sometimes you don't know when a kid is going to peak. As I've noted before, I do think UND keeps an eye on this kid though.

They may be, especially now. But he really hasn't done all that much until this year, playing a single A schedule. That's not a knock but the other single A guys we've gotten had produced for a long time before their senior years. Single A talent is pretty difficult to judge without seeing them play junior A hockey. He has scored a bunch but his assist totals are pretty low.

I'm going to go out on a limb.....I'm guessing he'll end up at SCSU, Mankato, or Duluth. In that order. He has SCSU written all over him.

Super interesting. I check most Vees' boxscores and this kid fills the stat sheet. The fact he is going back to Penticton next year and coming the year after is nice.

I've thought a lot about this too. No way a third rounder stays more than 2 years on the pine. I've had inklings that he may bolt in the off season however isn't matej super young? Pretty sure he's the youngest goalie in college hockey. With that being said, Cam will receive an offer this off season. Hopefully he doesn't bite, however, if he performs well next year as well he'll most likely have to take it. Matej will beat out rinks next year and will hopefully get a decent amount of playing time, then his junior year is his.

I think Gendron will turn the program around. He's actually received several nice commitments recently.

I'm not going to argue over who should or should not be captain because I have no clue how each of them are behind the scenes. I do know that kloos is good. I watch the gophs a lot. Their opponents are always my second favorite college team.

I don't know, schmaltz hasn't been the same player since the world juniors. Brock is Brock and caggs finally started to look explosive.
