Fabbro captain at BU next year. How did they get a first rounder to stay 3 years. Crazy. Chad Krys second rounder, he’s back too for a third year.... as well as their goalie. They should be solid next year. UMD has everyone back and SCSU didn’t lose nearly as much as I thought they would. It’s gonna be tough sledding in the NCHC next year.

Agreed, it was developed to help the smaller schools. Well they have caught up and there is more parity than ever before. Some kids get better as they grow and mature, we should be able to talk to them until they sign their NLI.

No, I’m not knocking the league, I just mean the depth of the league isn’t that of the USHL or BCHL. Probably more on par with the NAHL (with a few more high enders). I mean, Cale Makar played in the AJ and he was the 4 pick last year. I worry about recruiting overagers from those leagues just because they put up big numbers. Many times younger high end players will play in those leagues prior to heading to the CHL, USHL, or BCHL because it is a hometown/local team. i was being serious, I like what L Bast has done in that league, especially in the playoffs. Curious if he would head to the BC or USHL next year.

Luke Bast put up good numbers in the AJ for a junior in high school (late 2000 birthdate). Good numbers in their playoffs as well. Not the greatest of leagues however I wouldn’t be shocked to see Berry extend an offer.

Oh sure. I wouldn’t be opposed to all schools doing this. However the more I think about it, the more I’m thinking it would be super hard to project future team without knowing who is coming in and when. That would be pretty tough. i just think the recruiting environment has gotten terrible. 13-14 is too young. 17 is perfect

I never understood why the GA was developed in the first place? If you adhere to it you’re losing, from a recruiting standpoint. It also forces teams to commit younger and younger kids. i actually think what Hartzell said made sense...to combat the recruitment of middle schoolers. He was right that young kids get a sense of entitlement when they receive offers. You don’t think this has affected any UND kids? in a perfect world a kid would commit the year before they enter the institution. The reason is was created was to stop losing CHL kids and help smaller schools. This has really no affect on CHL anymore (I think). College hockey has become very popular.

Hockey is getting further and further away from grade and more by birth year. Kunz could be a 10 grader based on birthdate. But your point is accurate, because Kunz was cut from that team doesn’t mean much. He’s a great talent/commit.

Oliver Wahlstrom isn’t going to Harvard, per Schloss. I would be hoping Bubs would be all over this. Times are changing though, I could see him choose Michigan. They are stacked with blue chips and there has been rumors that J. Hughes may go there. tyler Weiss not going to BU. M Mcmahan noted he is interested in DU or another NCHC school. Again, Bubs should be promising the world to these kids right about now.
