From what i can gather Mich has WAY too many kids committed already.
-
Hockey is getting further and further away from grade and more by birth year. Kunz could be a 10 grader based on birthdate. But your point is accurate, because Kunz was cut from that team doesn’t mean much. He’s a great talent/commit.
-
Yeah haha. Top line/top pp time...and all the free red pepper him and his family wants. I would go hard after that Weiss kid. If he’s interested in DU and “another NCHC team”. I would sure hope it was us.
-
Sure that’s an option.
-
Oliver Wahlstrom isn’t going to Harvard, per Schloss. I would be hoping Bubs would be all over this. Times are changing though, I could see him choose Michigan. They are stacked with blue chips and there has been rumors that J. Hughes may go there. tyler Weiss not going to BU. M Mcmahan noted he is interested in DU or another NCHC school. Again, Bubs should be promising the world to these kids right about now.

He’s got one thing right. GF hockey is nice.
-
Patrick Kane was cut out of camp. Accepted a spot after someone else backed out.
-
With two kids declining, I would be shocked if Kunz didn’t get an invite.
-
Given what Weatherby is doing in the BCHL playoffs, I wouldnt be shocked if he was drafted. Somewhere in rounds 4-7.
-
Holy buckets....if I had a penny for every time these two were brought up. From a recruiting perspective. Maybe we should only recruit those kids who we know will go straight to the show out of college...and don’t get drafted. We’d be set
-
We lock down recruits several years in advance. Hain had the possibility of being a blue chipper until he played NTDP (his skating was exposed a bit). I’ve read that tychonik and JBD could potentially go first round (making them blue chippers). Dont get me wrong, I’m concerned as well. Just relaying facts.
-
Agreed. They have the horses, with a few more coming in. Just need them to show up more often.
-
The recruits coming in next year will be strong on D but a bit thin on Forward, as compared to past years. One thing to mention is that this year’s team had talent, as far as being talented recruits. Many of the players on this year’s team (and other Berry/late Hak teams) were very desirable recruits. Obviously some kids don’t pan out however we’ve had a bunch of underachievers the past two years outside of the obvious blue chippers. Motivations, readiness to play, etc are all valid questions at this point. JJ, hoff, adams, kawaguchi, etc, etc...many teams were after these guys.

So close? We didn’t make the tourney farthest away we’ve been in awhile.
-
Bingo. Again berry shouldn’t lose his job but to say sandy would have failed here is assanign. You would have to be a terrible coach to fail at UND. Time will tell if berry is the real deal head coach....he was a phenomenal assistant/associate. But Sandy is a great college head coach, no doubting that unless you’re fully biased.
-
Again, what Sandy has done AT Duluth is phenomenal. Berry obviously shouldn’t lose his job though.
-
What many people fail to realize are the recruits UND (the facilities and tradition) brings in inherently. I can’t stand when folks take one coach's record at one school and assume that’s what they’d be at UND. Had Sandy been offered the job at UND (prior to Hak) I truly doubt he would have had any losing seasons. Duluth was lucky to make the tourney, but that equaled the unluckiness they experienced earlier in the season with injuries. And here was that timeframe they had to send 5 players to the world juniors (honestly not too sure what their record was during the u20 though).
-
3 chip appearances in 8 years....two chip wins in that span. Tons of solid recruits coming in. I wouldn’t mock that program right now.
-
Berry is going now where, nor should he. But damn....sandy is hot. 3 title games in eight years, two chips. That’s nuts. Especially considering the resources. Not to mention they have a bunch of nice kids coming in and their team is still super young. Also, the ntdp u17 roster invites were announced and there are 4-5 UMD commits. Without doubt one of the best coaches in the Land.
-
From the looks of it UND may have been after ceulemans as well.
-
Interesting I must have missed the JT tweet. Good for him. yes that’s right...oilers are still in it.
-
If they go that high he has to. We’ll see if they get a U18 invite.
-
I agree
-
UMDs Forward group looks thin...what happened to Avery Peterson?
-
Looks like he only moved up one spot. Interesting though, a first rounder doesn’t play another year of juniors...not these days.
