Completely agree 100%.
-
Agreed...he doesn’t play over any of the guys I just mentioned though.
-
I agree, but at this point in time Blaisdell is easily ahead of him if you ask me. Pinto, Caulfield, and Rizzo too. Donovan has not stood out while playing ushl games and not the AAPG either. He could easily use a year of juniors. I’d be fine with bringing him next year if we had room, but he’d most likely be a fish out of water next year. I highly doubt he’d be that effective at all and may end up sitting games. He’s not tufte let alone mittelstadt at this point in his development. I really like RD but I honestly think he’ll be a longer term project. I thought he would go play ushl next year then play 2-3 years at UND.

Big run starts now -
I’m guessing he goes Sioux Falls then NTDP

Something is very wrong there. Time for York to bounce.
-
I’ll take him. If he does leave, wouldn’t he have to sit out next year too? He was the 8 pick I believe. No way he doesn’t head to the CHL.
-
.....did Wahlstrom just leave BC?
-
I have a good feeling about Pinto. Maybe not immediately but I think he'll be a nice player. I've seen him twice this year and he definitely passes the eye test. Fairly long kid that can skate. A lot of kids struggle in the USHL, which is the case with several of our recruits. Not Pinto though...and he's a rookie.

Completely agree. We have the horses, they just need to keep buzzing. Do we have the talent we used to? No. But we have talent. They just need to continue to gel. Coaches need to continue to hammer the recruiting trail.
-
Let’s see what Donovan does at the end of the year in the ushl first.
-
Haha...right. Shawzy must have been full court press on Saturday
-
Cam York to Michigan. That stinks.
-
I don't have a great feeling this year, but I do think they'll beat some top teams here and there. Hopefully they get in the NCAAs.
-
Shaw was out recruiting (yes I too heard that Saturday evening)? I have never once heard of a coach missing a game for a recruit. It was a conference game.
-
Bingo. It was Berry's first year.....I'm sure they missed on some recruits as well. But remember, Yon and Bowen committed long before they got to juniors. Regarding your second paragraph, I also agree. Keane is probably a guy that typically wouldn't make the team, as he didn't produce in any competitive junior league. I doubt he's on a scholarship though considering who his dad is. Hain and Weatherby were solid gets though. Senden is another guy who'll bring it but he's not very talented. Some on this board love those players (and I do to for 4 line or extra player spots, they're more like practice players). As for next year, I too hope they'll all produce. We need to turn this ship around. I am still blown away no one is talking about the fact Shaw wasn't on the bench last Saturday.
-
They don't have any first round forwards.....but they do have quite a bit of guys that scored in juniors (similar to Boeser and Duncan). So what's the deal? There are always going to be "misses" on talent. But so far, everyone is missing.
-
Agreed. Not fun times right now. But...whatever you do.....do not go to the overall scoring leaders page at USCHO.com. I made that mistake earlier today. I remember I used to do that weekly. For some reason I peeked and feel much worse about the boys this year.
-
They’ll get up for duluth. They’ll most likely win Friday lose Saturday. However if they lose Friday I think they’ll get swept
-
Something is definitely not ok.
-
Not sure I’d say that either. That ‘16 team was loaded.
-
Well said. Although I would still say those Hak teams had better recruiting classes, more were early on off the blais trail though
-
I don’t buy that excuse that Shaw missed the game because of a recruiting visit. That has the be the worst excuse ever. That just doesn’t happen. Who were they recruiting, Jack Hughes?

Curious what’s going on with this program the past two years. It’s not the talent because many of those boys could have played for many high end hockey schools. It just seems so many of the players have been underachieving lately. At the very least, we have solid talent. But as a team we are so very average. We’ll beat a high end team here and there but we get swept by below average teams. It’s very early, but it’s probably about time to get worried about the pairwise. Swept at home against WMU, loss to Miami at home, loss and tie against BSU, etc
