Yeah he’s been committed for some time (I know you know this but at the time of his commitment he was one of he top dmen for his age in the country). What’s odd though is that he doesn’t have that many pts for being labeled an offensive minded dmen. Especially since he’s playing ND high school hockey. He must be forced to sit back a ton. 5 assists in 24 high school games?

More likely than not, higher drafted player will be better than lower drafted or undrafted players. The more drafted kids you get (that fit the culture of your program obviously) the better.

Not to sound negative...but if we followed their recruiting strategy we’d be in trouble union is getting better though.

Haha no not at all. I guess I didn’t know we were down one prior to gornall leaving. I get the new kid doesn’t replace gersich but at this point there are no good kids playing juniors that haven’t committed somewhere.

Ok, I like to think of myself as having at the very least average intelligence. Pogo, Olson, simo, gornall = Weatherby, senden, keane, Hain. We have also added this new kid...for explanatory purposes I’ll just say gersich. Were we short another player? Or are you pointing to the fact that this is a new strategy to keep more non scholly players on the roster “just in case”.

See my previous post, with those leaving and those coming in. If gersich stays (which I would assume is highly unlikely) only hain has the option of staying back and playing another year of juniors.

Really? I just remember someone posting that we have next years Forward recruits full...and that if we see another recruit sign it most likely means a forward (gersich) is leaving. weatherby, senden, hain, keane - simo, Olson, pogo, gornall. New kid = gersich. I heard right from a family member (although distant) that he’s all but gone, but that was early in the year. I guess hain could use another year in juniors

Well we’ve won one game in the past 8. Our pk has turned to nothing and not one player on our team is sniffing a point per game pace. I’m more concerned this year than last.
