2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
Benny Baker replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Play Bemidji for the October exhibition. -
Yes; 93 was North, and 95 was South.

Thank you. That’s what I thought. Brianna Berry acknowledged UND owned the trademark before she did, transferred it to UND free of charge, and UND never paid anything to the Berrys. Outside of poor optics, the NODAK controversy was really a nothing burger. Berry was simply fired for his teams’ on ice performance (or lack thereof).
-
Did Brianna Berry sue UND to enforce any trademark ownership? Did she license the NODAK name to UND for an unfair deal, or any deal? Wondering how much the Berrys’ made, if any, off the trademark? I know the optics aren’t good, but I am genuinely curious.

2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

If true, here’s a chance for Jax to lay down the law early, and maybe the team moves on from said player before that player leaves the team. Also, it’ll be horrible optics for the new school that its new transfer player is receiving $100k after having been cut from his previous team. -
Yes. 37 points over 2 seasons has been rather underwhelming.

I remember not long ago, some folks on here were saying that Jayden Perron was proof that UND’s recruiting was as strong as anyone else’s. My how times have changed.
-
I never commented on his ability to pass the bar exam, but instead, only stated that it is hard to obtain licensure with a criminal record, which is not an accusation.
-
I certainly haven’t. Not how I was raised. If Brandon Boetcher flew someone to their preferred destination, should he be paid?
-
It’s hard to pass the character and fitness test and become a licensed attorney when you have a criminal record for theft.

Any one have Purple Cows winning their regional? Mankato has not lost since January. Goalie’s save percentage is .945% and his worst performance this season was 3 goals (5 times). 32 other games allowing just 0, 1, or 2 goals.
-
Sad reality is that UND has been GUARANTEED home regional games every other year for the past decade. This season. Again in 2027. And 2028. Too bad they don’t take advantage…
-
If you would have told me before the game that Dell would let in 1 goal, and the boys would hang 40 shots on Michigan, I would have left Xcel, flown to Vegas, and bet my life savings on the Sioux …

You mean the guy that made it to every NCAA tournament?! Lol. Wow, how far this program has fallen.
-
FWIW, I believe the 4th line (29, 20, and 27) were on the ice for the game tying and game winning goals last night.
-
UND’s weak offensive performance against Omaha’s porous defense is even more confounding when you consider that 10 of UND’s 12 forwards tonight are NHL draft picks.
-
Winning in expected goals (xG) but losing in actual goals means you have a team that’s failing to execute as expected.
-
You’re right. I’m wrong. UND hockey, athletics, and its NIL collective have been crushing it as of late. All is well folks. Sorry for any false alarm.
-
So you agree, then? After all, it was UofM’s independent NIL program—Dinkytown Athletes—that was literally first to announce Jimmy Snuggerud’s return by tweeting he’s “coming back for another year with @DTAthletes”. I must have missed the 1889’s collective tweet about Jackson Blake returning this season. I saw you later added a comment about UofM’s comms and foreign students. I have to wonder the same then about all of UND’s similar degrees and the Russians and Chinese we’ve trained as pilots.
-
NIL deals haven’t existed for decades; but rather, less than four years. I know I’ve seen Minnesota’s hockey team in a national championship game during that timeframe.
-
You’re right. It is apples and oranges. But just like UND doesn’t have the resources for those types of buyouts, it doesn’t have the resources to compete in the NIL arena with schools like Minnesota either.
-
Wonder how long would Berry would survive at a school like Mankato, Bemidji, etc. where he wouldn’t be set up with the resources and history of UND?
-
Hak is done with coaching college and has reservations about UND’s ability to compete in the NIL landscape.
-
This is like Schlossman-speak promoting UND women’s hockey because they have European Olympians. Some fans might measure UND hockey success because the “NHL loves how UND develops players” for them? (For free and on the public dime!) Others measure UND hockey success by how UND competes against other college hockey teams and whether UND competes for a national title.
