BTW: Was in ever mentioned in any GF Herald article that the State Board had asked for the discrimination suit to be dismissed and the only reason I know this was reading an article from Colorado on Kennedy and the Title IX lawsuits?* *I'm not being snarky, I really want to know if I truly missed this.

Its not a good look for Idalski. HOWEVER, given the performance of the teams since WIH was cut, its supporters can easily point to that and say: Huh... they said the programs were going to get better, doesn't look like it. They could have done this and kept the sport. Does he take the swipe if UND had put up 3 Summit titles, 2 NCAA trips and a deep FCS playoff run for FB this year?

Herald Opinion had something on suggesting Bruce Smith as interim president. Im all for it (but I am biased due to my time at Odegard/Clifford back in the day)
-
Its really nice to have a true Ace pitcher again.

Suddenly that Perez deal doesn't look so terrible now does it?

https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/4608883-miller-attendance-trending-downward-und-needs-bill-chaves-nail-mens-basketball-hire Miller absolutely crushed it with this article.
-
Sometimes a small step back to take a big leap forward is okay. They need to get the hire right, regardless of who leaves (which so far no one has, but that could chance of course).
-
id drive from the cities to watch that.

Being that Kennedy is now gone and UND will be starting the process of picking a new president, should it high time that this thread gets retired to the scrap heap?
-
Let be real, the faculty will hate anybody who cuts their programs, because each department head thinks they are the most important thing on campus and doesn't think they should cut anything* *Direct quote from my late advisor, who was at UND for 35 years.
-
So time to ask the question: We need a person to lead it temporarily, so who gets the gig this time?
-
Some details on the replacement process https://www.grandforksherald.com/news/education/4608015-early-process-replace-und-president-mark-kennedy-begins-month

FYP, he has been a worse offender. A new president won't open that box (you can't bring just one sport back, you have to bring them all back... this is what people don't get... also just imaging the uproar in the departments who have been deeply cut.)
-
Fair enough. I'll be interested to see who does apply.
-
Since I was the one that asked, do you think she isn't ready, not quite head coach material, etc? I have a dream candidate in mind but I don't think he would leave C-SP.
-
YA would be a great addition to the D-line
-
UND needs to nail this pick for president. They cannot <bleep> this up. Its morning again for UND.
-
Now its time to turn the page. Are we sure we can't get anybody else to run UND until they pick the new president? No Teflon Tom please.
-
I would think they would say no for a different reason: They just might not want another politician in period, whether they have a R or a D by their name. Of course it will depend on who is on the committee this time around.
-
I would say no to Horner.
-
I'd say Northern, Augie, Mankato, SMSU and Moorhead coaches are at or near the top.
-
Me too. I would love to see it, because I think he would do great... but I think it is a pipe dream.

I can never blame anybody for wanting to spend time with their families. Given Jones story in the article posted by Miller, I can certainly understand. Jones wasn't perfect by any stretch. My first year at UND was during the dreaded attempted of a) copying the Miles "redshirt so you can give the seniors a crack at the tournament" and b) the Princeton offense. It didn't go very well. I do give him credit for scrapping it the next year (and knowing when to change if something wasn't going to work). With that said, he did lead UND to the promise land and honestly, with a little better luck and the NCAA not screwing over Nash, he could have gone at least 1 or 2 more times with the Huff group. I wish him the very best. Now.... UND needs to make a good hire and the time has come to start to support this program. Enough of the shoestrings. Now this thread can finally be over.

I'm not sure myself, so I made an edit to my post.

You bring up a good thought, Let's see who leaves now.
