  1. We agree again. The bill GF property owners got for the flood protection there is amazingly small. Fargo's biggest problem with federal funding is the lack of muscle in DC now. They should have been on this when Dorgan, Pommeroy, and Conrad were there. Now you have 2 out the 3 being against federal earmark spending. More than anything GF got lucky to have got flooded when they did. Fargo should have taken advantage of it at the time but alas they did not.
  2. Yeah and the poor mom had to do community service.
  3. There was the Iowa Stars affiliated with the team that ditched Minnesota for Texas. Now a team is moving from Texas to the same city in Iowa. As for flights UAL has 5 non-stops and Delta has 5 non-stops from Bush to MSP. Delta has 6 non-stops between Des Moines and MSP. Only $275 cheaper from DM than Houston.
  4. And he will do very good in grad school.
  5. You are right about how it was handled in the old days. When the cops would bust up a keg at Paradise or the Rifle Range no one got tickets. Parties? Break them up and no tickets. Now? Big pain for the kids involved.
  6. How many kids walk away without minors all the time? Young cops in GF are nothing like the old cops were. That's why all of them want to be on the SWAT team. By the way that is what my old neighbor told me and he was a LT. and now the chief in Red Wing.
  7. You don't think with a lot of the young cops in GF this would not be bragging rights?
  8. You almost have to wonder if the decision to write them up came before or after the cop looked at their ids?
  9. So I was off by a third. It has been this way for years in Minnesota. But I guess my eyes were deceiving me when I see all those empty seats on TV.
  10. You have what 4,000 underage kids on the campus and how few get minors in a year? Yeah I would say bad luck.
  11. There should be an asterisk next to Minnesota. Most games there were a third of the seats at least that were empty. 6.000 would be more accurate for them.
  12. With the topography of Fargo a diversion is the only thing I can see. Then it would have to go on the Minnesota side. The slope of the river bank is not like GF. GF has a quick climb so dikes could be built. Fargo is much more gradual. They have to do something before it is too late and it will cost more to build and fix what is destroyed. Darrel lived through it before and I doubt he wants to live through it again. Yes it will cost a lot. But not doing it will one day, maybe next year even, will cost more. This year looked like it could be the year but the nuclear missile missed.
  13. Looking good for Fargo.
  14. Same thing I thought. They are more than one but less than two. College hockey fans I think would love watching the ECHL games. Prices are great also. In Vegas if you walk up carrying a plastic cup of beer they let you in with it. Free parking with a huge parking lot and a ramp.
  15. Funny that the mildest thing you broke is the one you still feel.
  16. I have really enjoyed watching the LV Wranglers in Vegas. Do you think they are one or two steps faster than the college game?
  17. Does your arm bother when the weather changes?
  18. I think 76 was when it first was used because I was in Deconess in the summer of 75. Do you have a good story about how you broke your arm? 1976 Construction of The United Hospital, an acute care hospital, on Medical Park was completed. The next facilities to follow were Valley Medical Associates, P.C. and the Grand Forks Clinic. The medical complex grew to include an orthopedic clinic, a nursing home, a chemical dependency center, and a unique senior living center. https://www.bcbsnd.com/docs/newsroom/QuickFacts.pdf
  19. Opposite of what a recent UND captain told me a couple of weeks ago about the E.
  20. Some of us were smart enough to leave. While others still suffer.
  21. Deconess was still in operation in 1975. St. Mikes was still being used in 1977/78.
