    We did an A team B team setup for a youth club sport back in the day and alot of parents didn't like it because they felt slighted if their kid was on the B team, especially if their kid had friends on the A team. One mom complained until her son was placed on the A team. He rode the bench the entire season and barely played at all because he wasn't any good. Meanwhile, on the B team, a bunch of kids who would have been bench warmers got a ton of playing time and improved the entire season. A few of those B team kids ended up being All State as seniors in highschool and I would attribute alot of that to their time on the B team and the extra minutes they got as a result. The kid who rode the bench on the A team rode the bench as a senior.

    I'm with petey on this. You make claims that you can apparently substantiate so you are now being asked to do so. Should be pretty easy to do since you already know who they are and why they are so important. After you name them and describe why they are so important to the success of the university I will check.

    You could even have a team for Thompson in the lower division with Grand Forks kids that wouldn’t make varsity and don’t want to play 3 years of jv.

    Why would you ever put him down low? Let him use his mid range game and quickness to pull bigs away from the basket and wreak havoc.

    So they could go to the MN tournament and ruin the damn thing by winning it all. Could you imagine? It was bad enough that EGF won.

    Just think, they all could’ve been apart of a UND team that wouldn’t make the tournament. Instead they get to actually go to the tournament and actually win a game for a change.

    There's nothing wrong with constructing a new district in a town. Grand Forks' downtown is chocked full of potential which is why I feel strongly about further developing it. One huge issue with the examples you gave is that nobody lives there. We don't need malls. Malls are dying because they're stale. A new district with shops and offices and restaurants can only work properly if it incorporates residential spaces. There are a couple locations in Grand Forks that could support this type of development.

    Easy to find a place to park yes. Downtowns should be planned around the movement of people first. Cars second. That's not to say the entirety of downtown should be biking paths and closed off streets with no traffic. There's a balance, and right now it's tipped too far towards cars.

    If you want to attract and, more importantly, retain, young talent to a town you need to have a strong downtown with all the bells and whistles.
