  1. I think the first game against BC in the 2001-2002 season is worth an honorable mention. Brandon Bochenski scores a hat trick, and the Sioux come back from 3-0 to win 6-3. That was the loudest crowd until the regionals this year. Granted, there aren't too many slots in this entry. Great job overall, though, tis a very balanced collection of big games across all levels and sports.
  2. No, they still do. Those special people get to park in the main lot at REA. This discussion is in regards to lots previously unmonitored by the Ralph. Now, some of these will be pay lots.
  3. You need a UND student/faculty/staff pass to park in the lot by the Nursing building. They never check that lot on the weekends, but maybe Ralph parking "officials" will now check it. The lot by the coffee house is now monitored and I'm not sure if they charge for that.
  4. This year, the lot behind Tabula coffee house is a monitored "General" parking lot. I'm not sure if they charge for it (because I went elsewhere), but that still bugs me. As a student, that lot was always great, because it never filled up until after the doors opened. Now that it is an advertised (signs on University) lot, I'm sure there will be much more competition. At least the "A" lot behind the nursing building is still a great, un-tapped lot. They really should build a ramp, but the odds that they would tarnish the prettiness of the Ralph by putting up an ugly parking ramp are slim.
  5. Lots of familiar names in that bunch. Hope to see Zajac up when games are actually on TV!
  6. It will be a lottery. Just like last year. Guarenteed if this one doesn't work. There is no time to set up a new one. One of the main problems I see is that no two administrations, since I've been in school, have done this the same. The new officials don't take the old program and improve it. They instead, implement their own. Granted, if the new ones finally work better, it'll be for the best. For now, however, it just creates a lot of headaches for everyone.
  7. I'm not saying I could do any better. But then, I do not say that I will. Every year the administration says they will do better. Every year I believe them. Truthfully, I don't really care about the hassle as long as I can get tickets. It's really not the student government that makes this difficult. It's the idiots that work for, say, Ticketmaster, the people that get frustrated at the high number of phone calls. My girlfriend even got hung up on after barely saying one word. You can't get mad at frustrated students if the system doesn't work. These students are LEGITIMATELY frustrated, they wasted up to 4 hours banging their heads...some of them at work! A system is supposed to work, every year, and it often disappoints. I understand that people are working themselves into the ground, but it's stupid to think that nobody should be upset. I'm not an administrator, and I don't really want to be, but should I just assume that the ticket plan will continue to fail, because I don't have time to be part of student government? Or, should I believe what I'm told about the next great system? Do we need to participate in government in order to be legitimately upset? That's not the way it works in the rest of the world. A lot of times when people in a city are upset, they don't go to city council meetings, they write to their council representatives in complaint. There are people elected to represent the students. I trust them to fix the situation. But of course people are going to be a little frustrated. They'll get over it, and have a great time at the hockey games. As long as things get sorted out, and people can get tickets I'm not going to care so much.
  8. Isn't it nice how they do this on a Sunday at 1pm, when Ticketmaster (and UND athletics) isn't even available for a phone call? Then, they finally do have people to answer phones, but they are so flustered that they hang up on you. THEN, they improve things by pushing it back to ANOTHER Sunday, one week before game 1. I like the idea, and I think it has promise. But, this pushing back should really have happened back in June/July; when there is actually time to work the kinks out before hockey season. Granted, the class status may not have been nailed down, but it should have by August. My girlfriend is another member of the "season football ticket" buyers. She'll love the fact that it doesn't count. Especially because she was such a trooper, pulling her hair out over this while I was at work. She was trying so hard to get tickets for us. Oh sad.
  9. Who cares about who made the move and who didn't? You CAN'T tell me that UND/NDSU doesn't bring in the biggest crowd for both schools each year it happens. This is a HUGE game for both teams. It's a rivalry, and it needs to come back. It's great for the state, and for football in general. Good grief...both sides need to stop being so stubborn. The minute these two teams hit the field, it will all make sense.
  10. NHL 08 will be made for PS3, 07 will not. I'll be picking up 07 on Thursday, but it won't be much different unless you're rich and have a 360. Then you get Gary Thorne and Bill Clement instead of the clowns on the "current gen" consoles. Oh well, apparently the AI defense and goaltending will be MUCH improved.
  11. Nice 3rd post. What a win! I'm beaming...can't wait to see congratulate them when they return. WISH I could have seen it!!!
  12. It's not the minority that is ruling, at least not in this case. Illinois is doing it for the money...just like eveyone else. Going against the NCAA means losing lots and lots of money. It's getting out of hand how much money means to the decision makers in this country. Now, I'm going to go sit in my air-conditioned apartment and play xbox on my huge TV. The helicopter should be here to take me to class any minute.
  13. Good defense rarely gets noticed by broadcasters or regular fans. However, when there are people focusing specifically on the defense, they should get noticed. If they do their job well and rarely make mistakes, they should be rated highly. Smaby is being rated along the lines many of us expected (I assume). He'll keep developing, and when they see him in game action, maybe they'll adjust their opinions.
  14. Nicely done. I've got a bunch of video like this. Maybe sometime this summer I can put something together. I've been pretty busy so far, though.
  15. This may sound like the old "womens' rights" routine...but You can't really call the allegations a fabrication. The women involved in these cases made the decision to step forward and charge their attackers. From that point on it's up to the police and county/district attorney to make a case and proceed. Because they "found no leads" to pursue they dropped charges. It takes a LOT of guts to go to authorities as an attack victim. This is especially the case if your attacker is an athlete or entertainer of some type. The story leaks out, and even if you are the victim you face just as much scrutiny from the public as your attacker; sometimes more. A huge percentage of this type of violence is not reported. The odds of these ladies making the attack up are pretty bad. And even after all of this, if they did make it up they would not have received monetary damages. There is almost no reason to make up this type of accusation. Getting even with someone you don't like by accusing them of assault is really not worth ruining your own life. Yes, these mens lives and reputations are ruined. But don't assume the young ladies get off scott free. Their lives are ruined as well, especially if they really were attacked.
  16. The suite right above 109 and behind the student section is the GF Herald suite. I know this because I have frequented that suite for a few games over the last couple years. My significant other's mom's sister's cousin's uncle knows the custodian and got me in (actually her mom works for the herald). I'm not sure about the one next to it over 108, but that might be the one CKup often uses.
  17. I'm IN for sure!! This sounds like a great idea, and I'd be at the game anyway. Let me know when the final word is in. I won't be bringing anyone, but I think Southpaw should pony up the cash with his nice cushy job.
  18. Well, these days "Mr. Hockeys" are hard to come by for UMN. Like last year, when UND snagged the two best high school players in the state! That is definately not an everyday occurrence, and these kids may not have grown up w/ UND. All I'm saying is that not EVERY kid from Bantams/Peewees in MN dreams of being a gopher. It varies by kid, by family, and by funds....if you know what I mean.
  19. I am a wings fan, but have to agree that Lidstrom got a big break on that no call. I think Lidstrom and Schneider messed up Spacek (I think) as to who to stay with, and maybe the ref thought he got twisted up because of the confusion. It's really the only reason not to call the blatant pick, because Lidstrom definately made contact with him. Then Nicky gets open and blasts home a one-timer for the tie-breaker. I REALLY hope that's not the last playoff game for Greener this year. He deserves more than one bad game. The refs were really not on in that game anyway, and were calling a lot of ticky tacky crap. They even had the Oiler fans throwing stuff on the ice by the end.
  20. I have to say... Jason Blake Ryan Duncan ...and it has NOTHING to do with my size (or theirs )
  21. In conference play, you need teams like AA and MSUM. If the BTHC was formed with those GIANT schools, it would just be a super-conference. More-so than the WCHA, which is on a roll, this one would just be huge. I think it's a stupid idea. The WHCA is very prestigious (sp?) and teams that would leave it for the Big Ten would have to be soulless. Bad News Bears, is what that is. I would like BSU in the WCHA, but I don't think an entire league should go down. This would be horrible for the sport.
  22. I just received 9 more. 3 are spoken for....so that leaves 6 available. After these 6 are gone, there most likely will be no more. Email or PM with inquiries.
  23. I'm pretty sure The Earl of Dive is gone. Who wouldn't sign after a great season and ending like that...especially when they've been drafted.
  24. I told my girlfriend that as a joke before the game...UGH...I hope next year is our turn.
  25. Yes, I agree. Normally I wouldn't request something like this...however Hextall's posts have contributed nothing to the site, and have only amounted to flames. I think this person should absolutely be banned. That kind of behavior is not something we look forward to at Siouxsports. Classy posters like WPos, Greyeagle, Saagard, Mavs Fan, and many other fans of many other programs make this a great site. People who post just to rub losses in our faces have no soul.
