    Rocco

I'd say Grimaldi has the best shot at making the NHL. His speed and quickness are amazing and he's not afraid to use his low center of gravity and mix it up on the boards. Knight's faceoff skills and all-around play will get him a shot in the NHL. He certainly won't be a top-line Zajac-type guy, but he'll have his chance to center the 3rd line. Kristo improved drastically this year compared to last year, but in my opinion he still has Europe written all over him.

    Tsunami ?

We live in the geographical center of the continent. There are no tsunamis here....
  3. Agreed on Hak's prevent defense. The only thing the prevent defense does is prevent the team from winning. I'd prefer we stay cautiously agressive.
  4. Gophers flopping all over the place now
  5. let's see how long Rau milks that one
  6. As much as I love to rip on the Gophers, I can't agree with you and the others who think the big# will be garbage. Although I wish it would fail, the big# will do just fine. Those athletic programs are all too big to completely fail at hockey. You don't think Hockey East has any bottom of the barrel teams?? You don't think some teams will naturally drop to the bottom of the NCHC over time?? No, the big# hockey teams will not be the cornerstones of their respective schools, but due to the sheer size of the schools they will still be well-funded. As much as I wish it was true, saying the big# teams will drift into obscurity is wishful thinking at best.
  7. Won't there be Summit League basketball games at the same time? Or will those be over before the weekend starts?
  8. Depends on whether we got the Dell from the beginning of last season or the playoff-push Dell. One was terrible and one was decent. Either way, I don't see our record being much (if at all) better than it currently is.
  9. SEC or bust
  10. But not quite as predictable as UMN hockey sitting at home in April.

    Hobey Baker

Charges against Knight dropped. Looks like the GFPD jumped the gun again. http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/258276/
  12. Why write an email when we all know the answer? The big# schools' administrations wanted the big# hockey conference.
  13. Yep, absolutely NO exceptions allowed..... regardless of school opinion!! Get real, if the big# hockey schools wanted to stay in their separate conferences they would have created an exception for hockey.
  14. Rhombus recognized as ND's best pizza. http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/258175/group/homepage
  15. Well that just settles it then.....
  16. And yet they chose to help the Big# anyway....

    student fan bus

I know there used to be buses that ran from campus to the Alerus for football games, I believe they still do and they're "free" for students (included in student fees). Basketball games are on campus so no bus for them. Not really sure what you're asking here.....
  18. Hmm, well larger end bleachers won't solve that one. One would have to assume fewer non-UND fans would be making the trip all the way to Grand Forks though as compared to tourneys in Montana and Utah.
  19. Time to build the second half of the parking garage at Columbia and University. Students, get ready for parking passes to triple in price again. Agreed. Hopefully UND could get larger bleachers for the ends of the court on short notice if seating is an issue. What is the typical attendance for the conference tourney?? Regardless, as others have stated, it would be a great problem to have if it happened. First things first though, lets take care of SUU this weekend and surprise some people in this year's BSC tourney.
  20. That loss still hurts to think about for me too. UND was far and away the best team in the NCAA that year..... would've beaten the ugly helmets 4 out of 5.
  21. Any chance Midco picks up the feed??
  22. You're correct, the state's portion of the property tax is quite small. However, in recent years the state has shown a willingness to "buy down" local property taxes using state funds. Unfortunately for property owners, this has in large part simply resulted in an increase in local government spending. I don't recall being one of the people who felt his gift was clean to begin with. I do believe he got the income tax deduction and the public goodwill that he was looking for though.
