A few legislators have made comments about a potential extension of the cooling off period, perhaps the University is waiting for them to back off.

I didn't feel like signing up for livefyre or whatever, but in regards to your blog: Nobody wants UND to pick a nickname willy nilly, including Tom Dennis. We want them to start moving forward with the process of selecting a name, which the leadership appears to be afraid to do. 2015 is only 5 months away. If we want a nickname in time for the 2015-16 academic year (we should) and we want the nickname to be something that has the support/acceptance of a lot of different groups of people (alumni, locals, students, faculty, etc.), then we need to get the process started months ago.

The Bismarck VFW holds around 1,300 people and it's not nearly as nice as Scheels Arena, much less the Ralph. Hockey is much bigger in Fargo and West Fargo than the moo U crowd would have you believe.

Yep. They just need a smaller playing surface, half the players, use something smaller instead of a beach ball, have the players carry sticks, and play the game on ice for extra speed and then they might be onto a pretty decent sport. The players would need to wear a different style of shoe to have better traction on the ice, perhaps a boot with a single blade instead of multiple cleats. I dunno, any engineers on the board that can design something?

In 60 minutes of hockey, each goalie is going to make around 30 saves. In 90 minutes of soccer/futbol, each goalie is going to make around 3 saves. As I've watched a bit more of this World Cup, I've found some teams to be somewhat more enjoyable to watch. The Mexico-Netherlands game was fairly entertaining and fast-paced. However, watching team USA play is akin to watching paint dry.

Why?

Watching the Americans flop all over the field is just embarrassing.....

For most of the fans in ND it was fine. For the fans in Minneapolis/St. Paul and the rest of the country (Denver and Phoenix are probably the next 2 big alumni centers), the lack of FCS coverage was a huge dissapointment. Edit: Nevermind, lack of availability in Fargo means it didn't even work well for a large percentage of fans in North Dakota.

They said the smell is prevalent throughout the building, not specifically this apartment.
