  1. Wilmer was much less talented but was effective on defense and the boards in his later years.
  2. With that said, the University Place apartments aren't bad looking. The Wilkerson complex (including connected dormitories) is bad, the Chester Fritz auditorium is ugly, and the new medical school building looks like a corporate office structure. It seems they've made some attempts to keep central campus with a collegiate gothic style (renovations of O'Kelly, law school, etc.), and the rest of campus is free to go nuts.
  3. It was an ugly building before, and it's still an ugly building after the remodel. The facade after the remodel is very trendy looking, which means it is going to look like absolute garbage in about 10-15 years.
  4. I do wish the newer construction (anything in the last 50 years) had stuck with more of a collegiate gothic style of architecture.

  6. Not sure it's ever been available on this site. But here's the link on the undsports.com site. http://www.undsports.com//PhotoAlbum_Archives.dbml?ATCLID=210296811&DB_LANG=C&&DB_OEM_ID=13500&SPID=6399&SPSID=58640
  7. Hmm. Perhaps it's an "academic/needs-based" scholarship? I dunno. http://www.scout.com/college/football/recruiting/story/1632176-hunt-talks-valpo-offer-und-commitment
  8. PWO commit Devan Hunt (OL) received a scholarship offer from Valparaiso. May lose him.
  9. Did they finish the season still on the team? I thought I remembered hearing they had quit early on.
  10. And by losing every year, we've been able to provide a lot of t-shirts to starving children in Africa.
  11. https://sayanythingblog.com/entry/und-president-applications/ Looks like the applicants (2 of the 3 anyway) who withdrew from the UND presidential search weren't real quality candidates anyway. Still tough to say how many quality applicants didn't apply from the start due to knowing what our state open records laws are.
  12. Oh come on, everybody knows Senator Hoeven buries an extra 50 million barrels of oil in the Bakken for every championship ndsu wins.
  13. Did you just say "man” instead of “person”?! When women are just as capable of fixing thread titles as anyone?! Woo! Woo! Woo! You hear that?! That’s the sound of 2015 pulling you over, people!
  14. The defections title was my fault. The thread title is now changed.
  15. The rumored player defections stuff has been moved to

    2016 Season

He's been the LBs coach for the past couple seasons, but it appears the DBs were good under his direction prior to that move. http://www.siusalukis.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/stepps_travis00.html
  17. http://www.grandforksherald.com/sites/default/files/List%20of%20applicants.pdf Judging primarily by the current/most recent position and institution, I'd guess the front-runners are: Mr. Matthew Wilson, JD (Dean, School of Law, Akron) - Based on his history, he won't be here long, but that may not be a bad thing for UND at this time. http://www.uakron.edu/law/faculty/profile.dot?u=mjwilson Dr. Robert Beatty (Dean, College of Business, Florida Gulf Coast) - Unfortunate name for the Grand Forks community. http://www.fgcu.edu/CoB/5799.asp Dr. Ronald Elsenbaumer (Senior Advisor to the President, Former Provost and VP for Academic Affairs, Texas - Arlington) - I'd think Senior Advisor is a demotion from Provost and VP, but who knows these days. https://www.uta.edu/profiles/ronald-elsenbaumer Dr. Helena Wisniewski (Vice Provost for Research and Graduate Studies, Graduate School Dean, Alaska Anchorage) - Could be very good for UAV research, as she has a number of military connections. https://www.uaa.alaska.edu/research/vice-provost.cfm Dr. Nagi Naganathan (Dean, College of Engineering, Former interim president, Toledo) - His homepage on the Toledo website makes his accomplishments as interim president sound quite promising. http://www.eng.utoledo.edu/mime/~nnaganat/ Dr. Daniel Clay (Dean, College of Education, Missouri) - Appears to be a hand-shaker. https://education.missouri.edu/about/meet-dean-clay/ Dr. Donald Siegel (Dean, School of Business, Albany) - Appears to have done quite well for the SUNY - Albany business school http://www.albany.edu/business/Donald_Siegel.php Purpur would be a dark-horse candidate at this point.

  19. Why can't the flame logo be used for both?
  20. Get rid of the bird head and it's not terrible. Going with just wings would also be unique in the NCAA world, as far as I know at least.
  21. Apparently they give a lot of points for being located in the mountains (Weber St, SUU). Not much UND can do about that, but I agree UND can do a lot more in terms of reminding the people of North Dakota UND has a team and getting the fans more into the game. Also hurting UND in these rankings, the same guy reviewed the Alerus and the Fargodome. The Fargodome has a very good gameday atmosphere, I don't think anyone here will argue against that. Makes the Alerus look worse than it really is. And if you go into the actual review, he's apparently very cheap, as he knocked the Al a lot for the prices of concession items and drinks. He also knocked the Al for the craft beer selection, what craft beers does the F-dome sell? Food and drinks at the Al got 3* and the F-dome got 4*.

  23. I doubt it was someone who was offended. More likely a fan of a rival school....
  24. There's one AHL player in USA's WJC lineup this year. Not sure if others weren't released or if there weren't any others eligible/capable.
  25. Kind of a pessimistic game, no?
