I get the impression the East coast schools run on much smaller budgets. The Western D2s need a D1 women's sport to offset MIH, so they'll likely keep WIH. UMn and UW aren't going anywhere. Ohio State could make a move, but they have so much money a $1.5-2 million loss per year probably isn't a big deal.

I understand why UNO would want the MVC, but not why the MVC wants UNO. Creighton owns the Omaha basketball market. UNO to the MVC won't change that.

Omaha athletic department is in rough financial shape. Would be strange for the MVC to invite that.

Kelley did UND and Kennedy no favors, but the funding from the state is now about what it was in 2009 (not including the med school). Strangely, expenses have gone up a little bit since then.

He hasn't outright lied in his articles, but he's certainly omitted pertinent facts at times and focused on making UND administration look bad.

It's an endowment, but not fully funding the program. Und football has million+ $ endowment for scholarships. Wouldn't characterize the program as endowed though.

Whether it's $30 million or $60 million, they're not going to come up with the money.
