  1. Only because I was born there.
  2. The AQ does count for something. It counts for an autobid. In most conferences, that's what determines getting into the playoffs.
  3. I do not know the extent that committee considers FBS losses, but I imagine losing a close one at Colorado probably helped more than hindered NDSU.
  4. Yep. The teams all had an opportunity to separate themselves from the pack and failed to do so. The committee got left with a bag of crap to sort out. I think they probably got it right. I think each team is probably fine with the outcome. USD gets to go to Bozeman if they win. Thats a reward to not have to play either NDSU or SDSU again. SDSU isn't afraid of going to Fargo at this point. NDSU gets to play at home, which sure beats going to Brookings that time of year.
  5. Not sure the MVFC can order the committee to seed the AQ higher than others. That would fall outside the conference's jurisdiction. NDSU had an additional D1 win, and people seem to be ignoring that they have an additional "good" win over Illinois State that neither USD or SDSU have. I doubt the NCAA is particularly concerned with helping anyone get to Frisco. Any combination of the top 4 seeds making it to the championship will bring plenty of fans.
  6. Better SoS, but I don't think anyone could have complained if they were 3 or 4.
  7. UND should do an national search.
  8. I was at that game in primo seats with VMeister (RIP) and his daughter. Awesome memory with some good natured ribbing back and forth. Great guy.
  9. Cam Miller did something with Dr Pepper. Some other NDSU guy too. At this level, it's all gonna be small stuff. But the NIL stuff at FBS is wacky
  10. He doesn't have any influence
  11. I'm not an expert by any means but I think line play is generally pretty consistent for most teams. I didn't get to catch the game sadly. Agreed to go see Wisconsin v. Purdue without checking the schedule beforehand.
  12. Where do you live? Seems odd you've never been. It's better than the Alerus but the Alerus is better for Grand Forks. UND has no need for something that size. It's getting old now. No idea if it's worth trying to fix up or just start raising money for a newer place.
  13. This assumes you need to pay the same as other schools. But $15 million annually maybe doable with alums and Fargo business in mind. I was like 10 when NDSU moved up to D1, so a bit young for that. But the internet is forever, and there was some skeptical folks about that.
  14. Footprints don't exist anymore. It's not like it's a bus league either. If the MWC wants NDSU/SDSU, I think you guys would be left behind.
  15. A win is a win. But UND will be facing stacked boxes moving forward. I hope UND makes it work. Things are more fun when the Dakota schools put a decent team on the field.
  16. I notice that sometimes DC's (even awesome ones) have trouble adjusting to offenses without anything resembling a passing game in real-time. Unless the UND QB gets better in that department, other DC's will adapt.
  17. I would say they ought to be careful but I think it's too late.
  18. Off topic but UND's uniforms would look much nicer with green numbers
  19. I think that's normal for teams in week 1. Probs moreso against good teams that are faster than you are.
  20. I've only flown into Jamestown once. The bags were waiting by the door by the time we deplaned lol
  21. When we went to the NDSU ISU game in 2014, I think we stayed in Des Moines and just drove up in the morning.
  22. Name a team in the east who should switch with Minnesota then? If/when more teams are added, it can be revisited. As for Portland, I'm not sure why divisions really matter. Assuming the AI search thing on my phone is correct, each team plays every team in their division 4 times. They play the rest of the conference a minimum of 3 times. I guess they could swap Phoenix and Portland, but what does that really change?
  23. I'm not following your complaint. That map looks the way it should.
  24. I don't know enough about whether that's completely accurate, but if it is...I'm sure the folks pushing it are aware and simply don't care. It's basically revenue sports pushing for money/a piece of the pie. I can't imagine they really care about women's athletics enough to give up the money they think they'll get.
  25. I think a decent number of them would just quit. My cousin walked on at NDSU. I believe he had decided on NDSU for school long before he decided to walk on. Now NDSU is not Nebraska, but I think they probably have some of those kind of guys too. My dad's cousin walked on at Notre Dame, dude was going to Notre Dame no matter what, happened to be pretty good in high school and decided to be a practice dummy for a historic program. Maybe those two examples are not normal. But yes, fewer roster spots will cause plenty/many(most?) to filter down to other schools.
