  1. I think I only went to the GF one maybe once or twice. The girls I dated always preferred the EGF one.
  2. Very new. Had a chance to hear your AD and alumni association (I think?) president talk about it tonight at a place in Mandan. Couple of small sport coaches talked too. Sounded like the plan is to allocate X amount to each team on campus for good grades, retention, etc relating to PAST PERFORMANCE. So I think it was kinda like "you got a 3.1 last semester and you came back for this season, here is X amount." It sounded pretty modest. Nothing huge, but it is something worth trying. If it flames out then it flames out. Nice thing for UND it sounds like there is a lot of investment going into modernizing indoor practice place and the athletic offices and all that. From reading the board in the past, you guys have complained about that for quite awhile? That'll be nice. He talked a bit about the new NCAA boss too. Sounded very optimistic that Charlie Baker can get things done to get NIL and such sorted out. I could've asked some questions after but I figured these guys were there for the UND folks, not me. So I left them alone.
  3. I did not know Mr. Chaves was shorter than me. Ran into him today.
  4. Was the hypo between Rutgers and CSU? I wasn't reading super closely
  5. A team in Colorado that a reasonably large number of people care about. Anyone in the Dakotas looking down on them is very tone deaf.
  6. Thats a pleasant surprise NDSU had a bigger endowment than UND.
  7. Let me introduce you to this magic thing called "public sector employment."
  8. I hope this is not a salaried position bc big oof
  9. Nothing says effective governance like changing the name of departments.
  10. I believe the med school and law school are funded separately from the U itself? Regardless, you listed basically all the programs offered by the university of North Dakota lol outside of education.
  11. Me when a kid from ND gets drafted...
  12. Nice to see young men from ND get a few bucks to play a game. Hope he does well. Would say the same for a kid who goes to UND.
  13. Could limit what portion of each half where the first down stops the clock. Getting rid of it entirely is a bummer.
  14. I think it *could* work on a Thursday, if it couldn't happen more than maybe once a year. But yeah, it would not be a great deal. Wouldn't be the end of the world but there would be large chunks of empty seats for that game.
  15. It doesn't take much of a fanbase to be FBS. MAC teams routinely get smaller crowds than the Dakota schools. It takes funding/money. The way I see it, weekday evening crowds would be largely Fargo locals. Probably not filling up the dome for a Tuesday night game against Akron.
  16. Whats wrong with posting a picture of a bison walking on the road in Montana?
  17. Another thing to consider is Saturday is not a work day for most. People have more time to get to Grand Forks if coming from out of town, and can get back home at a reasonable hour, plenty of folks got church in the morning. Friday makes sense to be a bit later. People need time to get to Grand Forks or go home and change, grab dinner, etc. I quite like the way UND times the hockey games.
  18. No biggie with the earlier kickoff. I'll be heading up for it with a UND buddy.
  19. I think there are some concerns about whether WIU will be division 1 or have athletics in general.
  20. Yeah we (youngish folks who were students in the championship era) got sorta pushed out. Will be interesting to see how the university handles that moving forward.
  21. Most of the games draw well. Just less well relative to the last 10-15 years. Tailgating alone is a sort of firewall that should preclude some mass withdrawal by the fans. Like UND hockey, its a social event. Go rub elbows with some folks, eat, drink, etc. But yes, I think there is some boredom taking place.
  22. I think thats very debatable. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer there. To me, it seems wild. Yet they continue to get people to pay.
  23. I wonder if the difference between Champions Club and Teammakers is that UND fans sorta got accustomed to Engelstad taking care of things while Teammakers have had to be more proactive.
  24. Yeah, I believe his advocacy is assuming other summit league schools add it as well. But even so, I'm not sold on it. Are these teams aren't gonna wanna come to the Dakotas for non-con games when they can play closer to home against better competition. Then look at recruiting... pretty slim pickings around here. The Cities might have a few kids? Is LAX difficult to learn? I haven't sat down and watched it much.
