When I was a student I was not a fan of 1 PM games. In college we were typically up late the night before and slept in. Then you had to wait for all of the friends to get ready so often times we did not make it to tailgating until noon or later. IMHO 3 PM games would be a bit more ideal for student attendance. 6 is too late as many students already have plans and will choose their plans over football games. Edit- This is a perspective based on increasing student attendance.

You summed it up quite well. I think most here understand that big scheme changes do not happen overnight but I am very happy to see the ship pointed in the right direction! I am looking forward to seeing where the team is at this spring...

I have a feeling this thread will escalate quickly. Let the measuring contest begin!

Opposing teams fans often do assume that we all travel from GF. I was talking to a DU fan at the series in Denver this year and he eventually did ask me how my travel was and I simply replied that I have lived in Colorado for 5 years. UND fans travel better than other teams but we do live in a lot of these places and when UND comes to town I tend to drop or turn down other plans and I know I am not alone in this line of thinking.
-
It certainly does help that Denver has a lot of UND Alumni (second to Minny for metro areas), but I personally had family fly down and ran into some friends who live in Nodak at the game. UND fans do travel quite well and when the game is in our town we do come out and support. Deadly combination! I guess I am in the minority in that I liked the game at 7 last night because I was out skiing all day. It really is tough to beat a day of backcountry skiing followed by a UND win! Just my perspective.

WOW, This could be the most ridiculous thing I have read in a while. Keep up the good work!

I like the lineup with Panz and Thompson. Panz added a spark last night and Thompson can break out of the zone by skating when an outlet pass is not available or too risky. Thompson is also plus 10 last time I checked. This is an underrated stat IMHO. Either way I can't wait until Friday!

Round 1: UND vs. Sacramento State
UNDColorado replied to UNDsportsFANATIC's topic in Men's Basketball
Good win. Tough to see Schuler go down...kind of a blatent foul but I am more of a hockey and football guy so I probably don't understand foul rules as well as most here. Keep it rolling boys! -
I miss seeing that sign. I have faith it will be back again.

Good. More backs equal more competition. May the best back(s) carry thy rock!

I like that this new staff seems to be still recruiting and filling positions of need. Nice to see.

Disappointing game last night. All the comments I want to make have already been covered. If we play like this in the tourney we will be run out of the building in the first half.
-
Just win baby!
-
Great half! Yes it really is nice to see students supporting the team!
-
Looking forward to this one. Win out Seniors!

I do not know why we didn't but I wish that we did. Hindsight is 20/20 though.

Look, at this level they need to be spending their time in the classroom and working on their skills. This is not a D3 college. These kind of tasks need to be handled by University maintenance.

Well said Siouxperfan. Also, IMHO we missed the boat to move up to FCS when the other Dakota schools did, heck we should have moved up when the Montana's did in the late 70's, and if there is a legitimate opportunity to move up again I would be surprised if our administration let this slip through the cracks. This is all speculation at this point, but a lot of the things you brought up were once speculation as well.
-
This is definitely intriguing because if Idaho didn't have a FBS plan down the road then there would be no reason to have a clause stating that Montana, MSU, and UND would need to be in the conference. I have also read about a few FCS schools who moved up saw huge increases in alumni donations. The same would happen for us...we have some Alumni with very deep pockets.
-
If this did actually gain traction I believe that some of these big donors would open up their checkbooks. However, this is all speculation at this point. Also, some think that Volley is crazy but I looked into this scenario a little deeper and legally it seems possible. (Im not a lawyer though)

Boom!

Haha yeah that situation was something else. There were a couple other religious figures who were involved as well.
-
Correct...I wont call any names out but I know a few for sure who were pushing to change the name.

Tell me about it. I was a member of the last class to be the Satans in 03...at the state hockey tournament the radio announcers jokingly called us the Devils Lake "Nothings"...then cam the Sioux debacle. I just can't win when it comes to logos lol.
