Are you sure that was Wooger, then that must have happened in the old Ralph. I remember the Goofer fans haveing fits about it.

I am surprised the NCAA hasn't flipped out about it. If I am not mistaken; (I am not a lawyer) to get an injunction doesn't the Judge need to believe he the one asking for the injunction has a better chance that not of winning the case against the defendant.

Grieco WCHA rookie of the week....Porter nominated for Off.

Seriously if Tony keeps playing like that they are going to be hard pressed to take him out of the line up. In my opinion he has earned a right to play. -
Dagies, See I think there is something to my conspiracy. I am putting on my Halo (because I don't care, my halo is held up by two horns) Honestly, Minnesota Wisconsin are going to get all the breaks. I personally think the Refs are affraid of Wisconsin and Minnesota, if you think I am all wet, the first clue was when the ref took forever to make the call on the goal that was obviously tipped in with a high stick against C.C. Sheppard took all night to make the call, its like comeon Derek, make the friggen call. I think he was shaking in fear of the repercussions. Adam changing his call in Duluth is another example, if I read it right he changed his mind how many times, make a call and stick with it. I think they are working in fear. The refs are so affraid in fact they dread the thought of the two big schools not in the final Five, so they are going to get the breaks. Its about the money. Seriously... No ones offered a counter argument. I welcome them if you do have one. I am not the only one that has been saying I got the idea from TH on the coaches show a few years back, at first I thought he was on crack cocaine but I think there is something to it. So that got me watching the penalties calls more closely. Your right Minnesoda and Wisconsin get the most favorable calls. On the other hand I think UND has peed off the refs in this league. I think it goes back to the Blais era, when Dean used to lobby the refs to call the game the way it is supposed to be called. I agree let the teams play hockey if your hand comes off the stick it should be a penalty. There are a few teams that would be screwed in this league if they called the game like this. One last point, think back to a few years ago (it may have been 4-5 years now) Kleven made a bad call a against the Goofers and it cost UoMN a game, at the time I thought it was whinning by the Goofer fans, they disciplined the poor kid if I am not mistaken he isn't even refing games anymore. For all practical purposes Donny had him banished from the league, or at least it made i difficult for him. They would have never done that for Hakstol. I personlly think Nate Freeman is worse that than Kleven was.

I think if anything SCSU expose Minnesota this weekend. The Goofer are good but they aren't world beater by any stretch of the imagination. I think SCSU gettting two ties is a win for them and a loss for the Goofs. Also good for UND.

This is really good news. I am surprised no has said anything yet. UND's preliminary injunction against the NCAA was approved Saturday night, North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem said. Stenehjem was in Florida and did not know details of the decision. District Judge Lawrence Jahnke, who decided on the case, alerted Stenehjem on Saturday but did not return phone calls to the Herald on the matter late Saturday night. I was reading over on USCHO this week how Goofer fans were predicting how they were going to run SCSU out of the building, this weekend. I was impressed with SCSU last night, they were flying in the third period. Briggs sucked in the third period too. SCSU exposed Minnesota's weaknesses last night. They defense still doesn't play much defense and they finally played a tough team and didn't look all that great. I think this is why I thought three points against SCSU last weekend was a good thing.

I like it. Well put.

Apparently there is a god given right in society to not be offended an no matter how small that number of offended is they should be able to dictate if a name or something is changed so not to offend someone. I sick of this B.S. I just don't get it.
-
Anyone know if there are going to be any surprises? We seem a little deep at defense, I wonder if we are expecting to lose a d-man or two this season.

Yep, that is correct it was Brian Canady that was interviewed by TH.

Just to let you know that I went by the Court house about 1 hour ago on my way to Cabellas and there wasn't a protester any where in sight. Move to an hour and half later. My buddy just called me, now there are five out protesters there. Why? Because there must be a Television Camera out there.

LOL, that funny, Its more fun to shoot them with a rifle though. But the thought of getting a new rig is compelling.

No one has mentioned this but on page 19 in the foot notes it says _______________________________ For the reason set forth in its opening memorandum, the Spirit Lake Tribe Resolution No. A05-01-041, which is still in effect, satisfies the Executive Committe's requirement that only on '"name sake' tribe consent ot UND's use of the Sioux name and imagery. The NCAA attempts to distinguish UND's situation from CMU's by stating that it "recieved no Resolutions or other official statements in opposition from Chippewa Tribes in connection with use of the name by CMU" (emphasis added) while not denying that it has been on actual notice that in fact five other Chippewa Tribes in Michigan actually do oppose CMU's use of the name, wihc UND pointed out ot the NCAA in its Nov. 4th 2005 memo. (Def. NCAA's Mem. Opp'n to Pl.'s Mot. for Prelim. Inj. at 41-42). The NCAA's disparate treatment of CMU and UND constitues bad faith. I think this is a good point and will be one of the many things it will use to prove that the NCAA is not applying this policy evenly and honestly. Also it has been stated earlier that Utah has not held up its end of the deal to keep the nick name Utes.

Good point and true, your paper is your paper based on your personal research, after conducting your review of the literature and the data you formed an opinion.

I we get an injuction the NCAA can't legally unless they want to lose more money. I am not a lawyer and I at least know they can't do that.

Possible Congressional Hearings at Illinois
Goon replied to Chief Illiniwek Supporter's topic in UND Nickname
I think we should suggest a new plan, for those that want to pay extra taxes, go ahead and send an extra 50-100 dollars in every pay period, I will not be doing that. If funny that there are all these people who just want to have someone elses income confiscated so they can get a few hand out or a benifit. They think they are entitled to something. Its going to be the 1990's all over again. People standing by the side with there hands out saying what are you going to do for me. I am not kidding you are going to see the biggest display of class warfarism to play out over the next few years. Nancy Pelois and her San Fransico Values are going to be the theme, don't believe any of these stuffed suits for a minute. The first thing they are going to do is really sock it to the rich. Next big oil, then gun confiscation, registration. Its never going to end. Unfornutately Bush won't veto a thing. -
I read that early this morning and I like it. So should we take up a colection to have the signs erected.

Don't worry the Dems are going to tax the crap out of everyone soon. Nothing like taxing ourselves back into prosperity. -
I mean we can talk about this or we can talk about how many deer we are going to shoot this weekend. At the present moment this seems to be more exciting.

In case any are having trouble with some of this legal mumble jumble here it is: What is Pro Hac Vice (PHV)? Pro Hac Vice allows an attorney who is not a member of The State Bar of North Dakota appear in a pending North Dakota court proceeding. The attorney must be a member in good standing of and eligible to practice before any bar of the United States of America.
