Just to add to that last weekend I didn't think we took that many penatlies either. The hooking call was kind of week though.

Hey thanks, I am not obsessed I am just tired of presenting evidence of how bad the refs are and some are just trying to poo poo it, yesterday I posed a stat that pretty much back up my claim that the Gophers are not called very often for penalties. For like a third year in a row MSU-M and UND are right at the top of the league for penalties. Coincidence hum, is it? (as far as obsessions go I am obsessed with hunting, golf and hockey) As for Minnesota I just hate the cockiness and the arogance that oozes from the UofMN program. The FSN television crew, the Star Tribune they have surpassed SCSU in my opinion as being the biggest rubes in the NCAA. Actually I have a new found respect for the Huskies. I have even got to the point that I would rather see the Badgers win over the Gophers. That almost m Actually one of my family members is an ex-gopher from like the 1995 team, I still hate their program. That doesn't mean that I don't appreciate Kessels efforts now that he is a Bruin. Lastly it is my opinion that the League officials are scared of the big schools not making the WCHA because they are all about the money. That is a theory that I have. I think they are affraid that if Wisconsin and Minnesota aren't at the final five no one will show up to see the games. I guess they wouldn't have faith in UND or SCSU filling the place.

I personally like fighting in hockey, I agree with the article it will never disappear from the game, but if I was going to be a coach that had a team that happened to have a goon on my roster, they are going to have to do more than fight to contribute. The bogey man is really on the cusp of being a one dimentional player. Colton Orr is a one dimentional player, I believe that is why the Bruins unloaded him. I think your going to see that be a preresiquite to play in the NHL as a enforcer your goig to have to do more than fight..

Good point. Yep saw the whole thing.

http://www.uscho.com/news/id,1147/ThisWeekInTheWCHANov232000 This is what we were talking about last week. If you go back and look at the story Kleven was fired for making the right call. I remember back to the time the Gophers coaching staff was not happy at all. If I remember right they called for his head. Lucia blamed his team losing on Kleven's call. Lastly, I suppose calling you skippy was a little harsh, if your offended by that I am sorry. We do have quite a few people on here that come here just to troll, over on GPL a lot of this type behavior gets people shut down immediately, Jim is more lenient. However, you did call me out when I initially didn't bring up the subject of the Wisconsin goalie being run over, sprig brought it up, so you might want to call him out too? There is quite a bit of people out there that agree with me on this matter, my conclusion and others on this matter is logical so maybe some in the Gopher crowd should take off their maroon colored glasses. In fact I believe some Gopher fans have been down right rude with their assessments of other fans and their opinion on this Goalie Running matter. I think some of the Goofer fans need to be less hypersensative, the league does not revolve around the Gophers there are 9 other teams in the league. This is why 90% percent fans in the WCHA hate the gophers and their fans. Its not a requirement to give the gophers props or compliments. Your right I am a hockey fan (not just college, I prefer the NHL because its less political and has better talent and officiating) until the WCHA/NCAA improves it officiating it will take a back seat to the NHL in my opinion.

NJ has resident bully Cam Jansens that I would qualify as a straight goon...
-
I think you and I agree on the competency of the officials in this league.
-
That fine I respect your opinion. I beg others to imagine if Lucia's Gopher team was ranked number one in penatlies taken in the WCHA. What? Probably would happen. We would probably be refering to GPL as gopher whines.com? Seriously? I am not making a joke. It will never happen as long as Sheppard is incharge of the WCHA. The Gopher coach in essence got an AR fired for making a correct call. Redwing is right, the officals are incompetent and it starts with the their boss. Imagine if UofMN had been the victim of that goal that beat Wisconsin, the official probably would have been given the week off or fired. The only thing I can think of is that Lucia has dirt on Sheppard?
-
Stay on task and focus.
-
here to see if anyone is trolling.... Here's hoping the Goofers get beat too.
-
Actually, I watched Saturdays game on the internet, I didn't see any of the trap your talking about, I saw a goalie standing on his head making saves.
-
Hunt could have said he was going up stairs and ruled on the goal after watching the video. Sheppard did it against C.C. Seriously that is a reviewable call, if it isn't hey pull out the rule book and we will review it. Personally Sagard I have no beef with you or about 70 percent of the Gopher fans but if your team had that goal called off most of you would have been singing a different tune. If you guys were the most penalized team you fans wouldn't being calling us Halos. Seriously. Like I said personally I hate both teams, I just want to see games called the way they are supposed to be called. The NHL manages to do this for the most part I don't see why the WCHA can't. Ok, enough for now.

Whatever, the kid ran over the goalie because of he recieved a small tap which in my opinion didn't warrent running over the goalie, because your supposed to make an attempt to avoid contact with the goalie. But since you know a WCHA official your opinion is some how more legit. If anything since your a friend of an official that makes you tainted in my opinion. So from this point on we will have to agree to disagree with the blown call, that is what it was. The WCHA official blew the call. Seems funny how Goofer fans can whin about officials but everyone else are halo's. So this makes sense now your policing message boards to bad mouth anyone that disagrees with your assessment of the refs. Personally I think they are substandard, that is a legitimate view. I watch a lot of NHL hockey and they don't have a tenth of the problems the WCHA does with their officials. I find it funny that you tried to blame me for bringing up the Wisconsin goalie when in fact it was Sprig that brough it up first, I just happened to agree with him. I recommend you probably should jump all over him first. Lastly, your wrong, the Goofers are not penalized as much as UND, MSU-M or UND. In fact your the 6th in the league. If Minnesota was the most penalized team in the WCHA heads would roll. Donny would be at the league office lodging a complaint. Most Penalized 1 Denver 8 155 19.4 2 North Dakota 8 140 17.5 3 Minnesota Duluth 8 139 17.4 4 Minnesota State 8 138 17.2 5 Wisconsin 10 163 16.3 6 Minnesota 8 128 16.0 7 Alaska Anchorage 8 115 14.4 8 St. Cloud State 8 109 13.6 9 Michigan Tech 8 98 12.2 10 Colorado College 6 54 9.0

Just think the beer for $1.50 pictures was Key Stone Lite: and a good number of us would drink them by the gallons every Friday night. Now I am not so sure I walk across the street to drink a Key Stone. The Edge also had some kind of a taco bar on Fridays if I remember right.
-
I guess I never got to see it. I do remember the edge being a country bar named chaps.
-
I don't remember Griggs Landing, that must have been before my time.
-
I think in retro spect losing Berry and Jordy are huge.
-
The CCHA is over rate top to bottom.

Hey Skippy, I you look at the thread someone else brought it up. Also, I suppose Chris Dilks or aka Maize Raze is a moron too for saying it eh? Whatever, who the heck cares? Think what you want skippy. The gopher player appears to be Carmen (I don't remember which one) pretty much felt a Badger player give him a tap and he basically used it as an excuse to run over the badger goalie, personally I don't care how you spin it or what you feel about it but If I had been the Officals that goal probably wouldn't have counted, it definately would have gotten reviewed. The Gopher player didn't need to mow the goalie over. Apparently Goofer fans have short memory because Wooger complained about the refs more than any other coach in the recent history of college hockey. Personally I don't blame him because his team took their share of crappy calls. Except now at least from my perspective the Gophers get the majority of the breaks. If you listen to Woog he has said that the officating has been questionable at times. I would be willing to bet if the shoe had been on the other foot last night the Goofer fans would have been crying. I personally don't care because I hate both the Goofer and the BADgers so I was watching it from a fans perspective. Please don't tell us how to think Skippy.
-
First off the Goofers are going to have to get through the regional. They are not a shoe in as we saw last season.
-
That was a blatant run the goalie play if I ever saw one, if that had happen to Minnesota Woog would have been up in arms. I can't believe they didn't review the goal at least. Elliot looked over at the refs like you have to be kidding me. Just on a side note as much as Minnesota fans like to say that UND fans are halo's their fans sure do a lot of complaining in the stands when a ref misses a call. Also, even Woog said the officating on the interference was bs and it was against a Badger player.

Please your playing the CCHA even with Briggs in net your team can win both games with ease.
