If Blood wants to play for a second division team; that sometimes competes for the WCHA title, that sometimes plays in the NCAA tourney then SCSU is for him. Lets not forget that SCSU is also a team that puts up banners in the rafters for NCAA participation; this is the same team that is 0 for in the NCAA tourney, compared to a team that has won 7 NCAA titles and a team that has won 30 games in the NCAA tourney. Maybe someone should remind him who played in the Frozen Four the last two season and have missed NCAA playoffs just one in the past 9 years. But if Blood wants to play for a second tier then go ahead and play for the Huskies.

That was a pretty cool game to watch, I'd like to see the Eagles in REA again. I didn't see the second game because I was in SD, but I heard that one was pretty good too.

I am sure there are a few that will come over and be offended by it. But eh I still think its worse to lose to HC then it is to be swept by UAA.

I sat down in the lower bowl for that series and that night and that was about the third loudest game I have ever witnessed/seen in the new REA. I sat behind the net and witnessed the goal it was a heck of a shot.

Yeah I pretty sure that I had a head ache after that game.

I would be interesting to a survey of how many of us were hung and had head aches the next after that game? I know I am not the only one that partied before and after that game. Holy cow! I drank a few to celebrate that one game. If I remember right my buddies that went with brought their own bar.

Redwing, I was having a hard time figuring out that hockey1 was anti-Grieco. I just thought he was anti Sioux.

I this particular weekend at the REA during the west regional last season was one of the best weeekends of hockey for me all time at the REA. The hockey was ok, but the environment was awesome, the arena was almost as loud as the WJC games when Canada was playing. Watching the Goofs get bounched from the NCAA playoffs, no amout of words can be used to explain it. Woog set them up nicely for defeat. I was at the remote at the bar at the Long Haul Saloon, when Wooger made the prediction that the Goofers wouldn't lose to Holy Cross, talk about some classic putting your foot in your mouth, that I am sure ended up being black board material. Beside the loss of the Goofs against the Crusaders, It was even better watching their cocky fans leave the arena with their tails between their legs. Priceless. One clown from Minnesota (while I was in the bathroom) goes to me, oh, oh, oh the Sioux would still lose to the gophers and I told him Spanky, we don't have to play you guys. Your team is on the bus going home already. In my opinion I believe UND would have still beaten them. The noise in the arena after the first game was deafening I new we had the arena atmosphere to beat the Wolverines, it was hostile. I was excited that finally we didn't have to play the pretty boys from Michigan in their dump of a barn know as Yost, finally they made the trip to REA. The Sioux whoopped their ass. To me that was awesome, historically, Michigan always gets the great regional draws in their back yard, finally UND got one, we may never see one against due to political correctness run amuck. The Sioux did disappoint, the boys took to the ice a ran Michigan out of the Building. That was even better than watching the Goofs get beat. I think it was the best the Sioux played all Year.

Goon wishes everyone a happy thanksgiving. Now I am off to SD to do some hunting tomorrow.

I don't take a lot personal. Hey I have a lot of time on my hands at work, I have a short memory anyways what was your name again? Fishing is for guys that don't golf. I would love too but I would have to give something up. My wife isn't leaving, my dog is staying and I got too much money envolved in hunting and golf. I live to hunt, to watch hockey and slap the ball around the course. Like I said earlier I could care less if some Goofer fan calls me a halo. Like the Whistler said, since when did it become taboo to complain about the refs, they flat out suck in this league. I would be willing to bet if UND was 8-1-2 and UMN was 6-5 their fans would be complaining about the refs. That being said I still don't see the Goofers winning it all this season. SCSU expose their weaknesses and other teams will watch those games to see what the Huskies did. I bet Hak and co will too.

So what are they going to say when we whoop their butts in hockey?

Just to add to that last weekend I didn't think we took that many penatlies either. The hooking call was kind of week though.

Hey thanks, I am not obsessed I am just tired of presenting evidence of how bad the refs are and some are just trying to poo poo it, yesterday I posed a stat that pretty much back up my claim that the Gophers are not called very often for penalties. For like a third year in a row MSU-M and UND are right at the top of the league for penalties. Coincidence hum, is it? (as far as obsessions go I am obsessed with hunting, golf and hockey) As for Minnesota I just hate the cockiness and the arogance that oozes from the UofMN program. The FSN television crew, the Star Tribune they have surpassed SCSU in my opinion as being the biggest rubes in the NCAA. Actually I have a new found respect for the Huskies. I have even got to the point that I would rather see the Badgers win over the Gophers. That almost m Actually one of my family members is an ex-gopher from like the 1995 team, I still hate their program. That doesn't mean that I don't appreciate Kessels efforts now that he is a Bruin. Lastly it is my opinion that the League officials are scared of the big schools not making the WCHA because they are all about the money. That is a theory that I have. I think they are affraid that if Wisconsin and Minnesota aren't at the final five no one will show up to see the games. I guess they wouldn't have faith in UND or SCSU filling the place.

I personally like fighting in hockey, I agree with the article it will never disappear from the game, but if I was going to be a coach that had a team that happened to have a goon on my roster, they are going to have to do more than fight to contribute. The bogey man is really on the cusp of being a one dimentional player. Colton Orr is a one dimentional player, I believe that is why the Bruins unloaded him. I think your going to see that be a preresiquite to play in the NHL as a enforcer your goig to have to do more than fight..

I remember back to the time the Gophers coaching staff was not happy at all. If I remember right they called for his head. Lucia blamed his team losing on Kleven's call. We do have quite a few people on here that come here just to troll, over on GPL a lot of this type behavior gets people shut down immediately, Jim is more lenient. However, you did call me out when I initially didn't bring up the subject of the Wisconsin goalie being run over, sprig brought it up, so you might want to call him out too? There is quite a bit of people out there that agree with me on this matter, my conclusion and others on this matter is logical so maybe some in the Gopher crowd should take off their maroon colored glasses. In fact I believe some Gopher fans have been down right rude with their assessments of other fans and their opinion on this Goalie Running matter. I think some of the Goofer fans need to be less hypersensative, the league does not revolve around the Gophers there are 9 other teams in the league. This is why 90% percent fans in the WCHA hate the gophers and their fans. Its not a requirement to give the gophers props or compliments. Your right I am a hockey fan (not just college, I prefer the NHL because its less political and has better talent and officiating) until the WCHA/NCAA improves it officiating it will take a back seat to the NHL in my opinion.
