I might put Ryan Hale in the role model player, defensive forward, used to check the oppostions top line. However, one might make the argument that Speedwack and Noterman are defensive minded forwards, that have also produced in the scoring sheet. So I don't know what to think about that...

Hey Dagies, Explain that one, I assume your talking aboutun Buffalo Wild Wings (BW3) what does the three stand for?

I think people are talking about his brother that was a walk on last season. I think he played in a couple of games. I hope no one takes this wrong but the coach can cut what ever player he wants at anytime, that is one of his options. Some seem to think that when a player is recruited he is stuck with that kid for fours years. Not true. I am all for a coach cutting a player that dogs it or fails to live up to his end of the deal. Living up to the their end of the deal means working out in the off season, going to class keeping grade up and behaving in a manner that reflects highly of the school giving the player the scholarship. Fighting in bars, failing classes, and not producing on the ice are reason to cut...

No offense TC-Transplant, the POI board http://www.prideonice.com is for Gopher talk. This is the http://www.Siouxsports.com we ussally talk about UND stuff.

PCM, I am not sure if you caught it but, coach says there was almost a couple of fights in practice this past week. So the boys are really getting ansy... Basically players telling each other you want to go after a hit... Actually that could be a good sign...

I think UND has a nice mix of bigger guys as well as speedy smaller guys. All your guys can't be small jitter bugs that are 5'7" that skate like the wind. When UND plays bigger defesive orientate teams like Wisconsin, Mankato, Duluth and other teams that like that these teams play the slow down clutch and grab, hence your smaller guys are going to get mugged like what has happened in the past couple of weeks against Denver and Mankato. They had guys tackling them litterally. You need bigger guys that can step it up and play through that crap. I think Goren was a good example of this the year that UND lost to B.C. in the regional Goren scored a killer goal with a guy drapped all over him.

Better bring a warm jacket and a nice warm hat it has been really cold this week. Miserable.

I want UND to make the playoffs and make a serious run at the title. UND doesn't have to win it all just make a serious effort. Reason being next season it will prepare them for the NCAA tourney dominance that I think is coming with this team. This might be a little cocky but it is possible.
-
At this point no one knows if he will be able to play next season. Lane has been injury prone his whole career.
-
Good point. Back to the anology of you earn your right to stay all four years with your effort from the year before.

How long does UND trudge along before the coaches decide that the current goalie situation is not working. I am sure coach is under a lot of pressure to have a successful team to go with the new arena, but I add we are the Florida State of college hockey (that is not being cocky that is the truth, and of course they have down years too). I also have to admit I am frustrated with the current UND hockey schedule it is brutal and a joke, the reffing has been horrible as well as the goal tending, we haven't had any. But I also must admit that others have not stepped up for gut check time. Ryan Hale, Prpich, Rory have not scored they need to step it up. What happened to James Massen. However, it is impossible for UND to play their game if the refs let less able skating teams (Denver, Mankato, Wisconsin, et al) to clutch, grab and tackle the very skilled players like Parise and Bochenski... You cant skate if a gorilla is inside your jersey with you...

I guess I should have said at the end of the season. I am just affraid at the end of the season. Poor Ranfranz is going to be the odd man out and he has played the best, I think he deserves some scholarship money. Can some tell me, anyone why Sofie is still around. There is probably a better chance than not he won't play much if ever if he stay 4 years of college. Here is a thought, maybe it has been entertained. Blais sends Brandt and Siembieda packing, or both go back to Juniors for more seasoning, they have proven the don't have what it takes to play at the divsion one leve. {maybe Jake is too old to go back to Juniors}. Phil comes in and redshirts, Blais recruits Ziggy and Ranfranz and ziggy start the year out as the men. If either struggles take the red shirt off Phil... Makes sense to me...

That is a novel Idea, why not bring in Lameroux, next fall lets use him now... Or pick up Ziggy... Ranfranz can split time with them the others can go else where... Lameroux has proven he can play in Jr.s, so the next step should be the WCHA. I am probably going to get blasted but I don't care why do we need to go another season with Brandt and Siembieda to see if they are going to pull out of this funk they are in? Remember Blais has said Scholarships are on a year to year basis you renew them every year, players are not guarenteed 4 years of scholarship. Should Blaiser risk having another team with great forwards and Mediocre goaltending? Ranfranz can probably go a whole season but you can't play ever single game he is going to need a back-up... I bet Zach could give his brother a tour around the place and talk him into going. Its time to look elsewhere... Flame away if you want the goaltending besides Marc Ranfranz is not good... I say ride Marc the rest of his stay here. Marc has earned the right to start... Besides he really pumps up the crowd...

Too bad that Victory sports networks isnt' on television yet...

I hope P.C.M. is right, I am tired of watching the Sioux have to deal with teams that have to resort to that kind of s#!t... Hammy is right also it is time to take it to the Rubes in MSU-M I just hope the boys are ready to go...
-
Thats kind of uncalled for...
-
Get ready for some all star wrestling part deux. Mankato will run their mouth from the drop of the puck to the last wistle, Its UND's job to shut them for them... I wounder who the Mankato team will send out to goad a Sioux palyer into a fight (remember the MSU player #23 the one that Hale worked like a clown) Its UND's turn to give the fans something to chear about, MSU-M is going to be prime for the picking from their long unbeaten streak... Lets go Sioux... Lets kick some Mav ass this weekend...
-
Your right Dagies, we don't need discipline promblems/pre-madonnas, players that can't be in their room at curfew. Sounds like a spoiled brat kid, but the coach is wrong too. The coach should be putting his hands on players and assulting them. So both are wrong. I would say that Eaves days are probably numbered as a coach of the badgers. This type of tactics wouldn't work even in the NHL...
-
Now that would be cool, a goalie that joins the rush.
-
Not to sound snippy but the goaltending has been sub-par... Holy cow. Look at the stats. I think UND needs to play tough defense, cycle the puck and play our game. Stay out of the penalty box if at all possible. But not to say that a fight might even help. Play smart and don't get involved in the after the wistle stuff that puts UND at a man disadvantage. David Hall be the crap out of Number 23 and the team responded well.

Logged on to the POI site last night and said Wow, what the heck did I do. I couldn't believe it. Then I had to make sure my wife didn't see it. Wow, so it wasn't hacked eh? Someone has a sense of humor...

According to the Interview with Tim H during the hockey game last Saturday it sounded like it was touch and go and David didn't know for sure if he was going to play or not, he is hopeful he might but couldn't guarentee he was playing either...
