According to the owner of the Carolina Hurricanes he thinks the season will be lost and stated he could afford to bag another season if he has to, to get a labor agreement. It doesn't look well for the NHL.

I actually wasn't sold on him when he was doing better earlier in the season. I know there are Gophers fans out there that feel the same way. I am sure that if Lucia has any confidence in J.J. he would be out on the ice.

Wow, WPos I don't think rotating goalies is a sign of weakness. C.C. rotates goalies and I don't think they are weak, nor do I assume that you feel they are either. That being said I think its the fact that Lucia doesn't have any confidence in J.J. is the reason your team isn't rotating goalies.

Maybe he wants to serve his country? There are a few of us out there that feel this way. The service academies are awesome schools academically and I know Army has a great enginering degree program, once you get out of your obligation you can land a great job. I can't fault a kid for that.

The Real Briggs is back. My brother called me from the X-Cel and said that Briggs gave up 4 goals in 5 shots. Wow. I wonder if JJ will get a start soon. LoL

I believe your right, its time for Quinn to take a seat but I am sure many don't want us to go there because he is a ND kid, we have a few ND kids out there not doing much but taking up space. The kid has done nothing this season. I thought UND out played C.C. but lost on a bad break, untimely turn over or a defensive lasp. If C.C. is the best team in the nation UND is right behind them then.

Ha, ha, ha, ha... I was wondering if your were still around. How about MSU-M renting to X-Cel to make money for their athletic department. Might come back to haunt the Mavs. I can see 13,000 screaming gophers fans there and 4,000 mavs fan at best. The MSU-M athletic department just did the Gophers a favor.

Oh I feel so bad for Michigan (not) for them not being able to have all of the Regional tourneys at Yost ice arena. I wonder how we get UofM to not keep getting the regional all of the time, like it wasn't a major advantage in 2002...

I think your preaching to the choir here because most of us know that FSN is highly biased and has trouble seeing the perspective of anything but the maroon and gold. I think Masucko is one of the biggest clowns doing college hockey today. Woog I can forgive beause he was the coach of the Goofers and also a former player. I think that is why many of us watch the goofers play just to watch them lose and that there is no other hockey on right now as a result of the lock out. I know I personally take great pride in watching the Goofer loose in hockey. I enjoyed last weekend's series, however, the tigers play caugh my eye and think the Sioux are going into a hornets nest this weekend.

Actually I think Schneider played good last weekend as well as Jones and Prpich. If I remember right Greene didn't spend a lot of time in the box either as a result of stupid penalties. I don't understand where Fylling has been all season though. Quinn seems to have been relegated to 4th line duty.

I believe it would do the Sioux some good in the rankings. Can't hurt.

I do like our chances if we have to play UMD in our barn. I think we match up well against them in a three game series.

Ok, I'll bite. The Sioux come out flat against an inferior opponent. The Sioxu play with no emotion all weekend. MSU-M has like three players I would consider good enough to play on the Sioux and UND gets out played. I don't know about you but, I am not seeing a lot of drive and determination. Except for Murray, Zajac, Genoway and Prpich, I didn't see a lot of effort on the ice this weekend. Someone mentioned Stafford making great plays on the ice during the WJC. Where was that player this weekend. Granted he might be dragging but these guys appeared to have bagged the season or there is something going one in the locker room. Where is the leadership? That being said they should get in as an at large bid to the NCAA tourney if they don't fall completely flat on their face the next couple of weeks.

Oh I don't know, I don't think College hockey is all that strong this year, any team can win on any day. Wisconsin lost to Ferris State, and if you look around college hockey this season there have been quite a few upsets, DU losing to MTU comes to mind. UAA has laid a few loses on people themselves, including the mighty Gophers.
