Thanks for that update, I’m excited to see each of them play.

It wasn’t long ago that there were maybe 4 freshmen forwards coming in, maybe. In order, as I remember, it was Blake, McLaughlin, Strinden and maybe James. Did James catch fire or was he always on the top of that group? It looks like we could have an exciting bunch of freshman forwards who can do more than just contribute by mid season, if not sooner! I got the feeling that young Blake, his dad used to terrorize our neighborhood when he was a teenager (he was a regular Eddy Haskel to all the moms), will take right off where his dad left off. Are the others fast too? Blake Sr had amazing speed and acceleration, he was feisty and fun to watch, even though he could be a pain in the ass.

Still the wrong place for this but (I don’t have GF HKY or GOB information, just speculation): 8 full scholarships = 8 8 75% schollys = 6 8 50% schollys = 4 That’s 18 scholarships going to 24 players! With 3 getting nothing. Do the math, if there are a couple more getting fulls or even 75%ers, that is more getting 0%. Who knows, maybe some guys are getting actual scholarship money for being smart (scholars) their money may trickle down to other guys too! So it is not out of the question that we have 3 to 6 guys getting no money!

I respect and admire the Spicer family and all past Sioux players. From the impression I’ve gained reading posts on this subject, Cole felt he was in the same league as Jonathon Toews. If he truly was/is, we’d only have gotten one or two years from him, not 3 and certainly not 4. It is really too bad that he made this hasty decision. He did not get good advice or he received good advice and chose to not listen. I wish him well as do most of you. As for his scoring where he’s playing now, I’m happy for him but it does not translate into scoring at the next level. Ness will produce, he won’t be the first player to need a year or two to reach his potential, we don’t want to invest this amount of coaching and playing time and then tell him good bye. Ness being told to leave only to start scoring for a different team would be worse than if Spicer does that. It would be good to know who gets scholarship money or how much, but I would have to agree that Ness is likely not receiving much if any.

Are his players leaving a sinking ship or is it part of his master plan to clean house? Gabinet is not well liked by anyone it seems.

Question, did I hear correctly that the current portal has a deadline in early May? If so what happens to those who have entered the portal and have not found a new home yet?

All things considered this was an over achieving rebuilding year. If we’d had Weatherbee this season and a Jake Sanderson for all but a couple missed games (no Covid and no Olympic injury) we’d have been considered a top 1, 2 or 3 team in the top conference/country. Those two players along with the rest of our team would have elevated our play considerably, won us a couple more games This season and would have had us going to Boston!

I was seriously going to pick Gaber, but with only two of us left that would send us into another game no matter what. So now I’m going back and forth between Mateo or Schmaltz! I’m not even sure if I spelled their names correctly. I’ll let you know. Does anyone have inside information to sway my choice? I assume they are both healthy. I wanted to wait for Berry’s midweek report. I’d really like to put my eggs in Albrecht’s bucket but that’s a longer shot.
