my point was...GET SOMEBODY someone you might want to see for $5 or maybe $10 a ticket....fill the place!!! (even if you (GASP ) LOSE MONEY!!!... it's an opening for f*'s sake!!!! so....less than a week before the highly touted opening of the Betty...the "headline" act reschedules with no apparent explanation ...anyone wondering what's going on??? From what "I hear" ...ticket sales at $30 a seat where "less than expected" and someone from one end or the other (guess which one (hint REA) pulled the plug. Too bad they never considered bringing in a mariginal act at even a "gasp" losing price to make an event like the opening of a new sports facility a success might be "worthwhile" in the long run. I'm just wondering what "c" list of celebrities they even got Martin Shorts name off of in the first place??....and to make it worse...."A MUSICAL EVENING WITH..." ;) If only we could get Ed Grimleys take on this whole thing

from our established conference foes...probably Nebraska-Omaha. From the new members of the NCC - maybe Minnesota Duluth. We've had a great rivalry with them in hockey and they're the newest members of the North Central with a former UND assistant as their head coach. Granted - the NCC is sucking air right now but we're optimistic "motivated" teams like Winona State from the neighboring Northern Sun Conference will upgrade their schollys and join up... OOT!

Here's a funny story...the first game with team USA vs. Finland had Koberinski scrambling...someone said "they're wearing (home) whites" when they came out tuesday (as was team USA)...turns out the fins were wearing their blues but there's SO MUCH ADVERTISING on their jerseys it looked like they were wearing their whites....OH CRAP!! I can hear REA's wheels turning in my head right now!!!

gotta say...Montoya was not THAT impressive this week...not that I doubt his ability - just his focus...he makes the first stop great...not so much on RB'S I didn't see much for a backup so I still think he's the man but what did you guys think?

as the mill continues to churn...the word is RT might REALLY be looking at the NCC job because "certain entities" aren't entirely happy with his work at UND (their words, not mine) Seems handing things over to REA on many fronts isn't playing too well with the home boys (TC, ES...etc..) Again, I appeal to anyone who might have heard anything along these lines....

The only reason I asked about Schweitzer was genuine curiousity about whatever happened to him? Yes he stepped in as a freshman (over not much in Toby K) and helped UND win a National Title...then apparently burned out early or got nervous about a kid he heard would be coming to UND named Karl something...winning 1 championship was great...not giving himself a shot to equal that task in 3 more years of eligibility is a disapointment in my book - not on the level of Fournier but a disapointment nonetheless...

Oh knock it off!!! It's kinda sad really...for a guy with some talent to totally blow his future because of WHATEVER...The fact he left UND was understandable....now he's done with hockey. Besides...speaking of wasted talent...whatever happened to Aaron Schweitzer?

the LATEST rumor to come out of UND is that RT is interested in moving into the Ramkota in Sioux Falls - a beutiful 3 room suite that doubles as a professional business place...anyone else hear anything about this? PS - I wouldn't doubt the dealing with REA is driving RT nuts....time for a change of scenery...

DU won because of incredible goaltending...which we haven't had since Karl graduated...if UND will succeed this season, it'll because a goaltender steps up and plays like there's no tomorrow!
