Earl and Kents' contributions were chump change in that whole deal and if was you notice EVERY contribution was from an Indian tribe (but the last time I checked there were no Cherokees in ND!) to promote minority interests...ND's Congressional delegation wouldn't have been able to do much about this issue with "hearings" - it IS an issue that needs to be settled in a court of law.

drove by the Al today and WOW! That hotel is going to be a great addition! Hotel, waterpark, restaurants (at least one with a sky-view of GF!) Thats so cool!! It's going to be a great (convention-ready) complex out there! And wait to see how the land out there sells after the hotel goes in....42nd will be the NEW Columbia road!!

thanks RD! wasn't totally sure...the irony is Bemidji beat Winona head to head and will likely be their conference champ but that's not good enough to make playoffs if you play a weak non-con schedule. Ultimately it doesn't make a big difference I guess...UNO will roll Winona about as bad as UND did! (GEEZ I hope this doesn't get "wsuwarrior" back on the board....sorry )

I'm pretty sure the Top 2 regional seeds get a bye -- #3 plays #6 and #4 plays #5 the first week. IF the Sioux beat South Dakota, UNO would likely get the #3 spot, probably win over #6 and play UND in the second game in Grand Forks IF an injunction is granted before then in the court case...if not, UNO would get to host and that would suck! ALSO -- I have to check that "earned access rule" - but as I recall, the Northern Sun Conference champ (assuming Bemidji) would get the #6 spot, because they're ranked in the top 10 of the region and I think Winona would get bumped in favor of their conference champ.

hey UNDSPORTSFAN...here's the real deal (assuming you are NOT associated with "know the facts" or the poster formerly known as "Identity-Kracker") You made a point in your previous post about "making it off the reservation" - that's great! That's exactly what a college (UND) education is designed to do...make you a better educated and more rounded person. Congratulations! You're doing it and will have a better life ahead. You might want to share the wealth! Believe it or not, a lot of people struggle! No one restricts Indians to a reservation - you're an American citizen too and have every right to pursue whatever you want out of life...it just takes drive! I was just a white kid from rural ND...not particularly gifted but I wanted to get a college education and decided to work my *ss off for it (working part-time jobs 60 hours+ a week just to pay for school!) and I did it!! It doesn't matter if you come from the reservation or a small ND town....THIS IS AMERICA!! You can do what you want if you try!! Stop crying about your situation - take the bull by the horns and make something of yourself - it sounds like you're doing that and I applaude you for it! If UND changed the nickname tomorrow....would it significantly affect your life? NO! Your life is what YOU make of it!

...like it or not...Gary has now made himself a "martyr" for his cause in the eyes of his supporters. A lot of martyrs throughout history have never been questioned as to their actions - only the results. I did find the Dakota Students editorial disappointing...they were willing to accept internet posts as "proof" there is a racist attitude out there despite solid information there was another side to the story. Nice to see they're teaching the students now to "just sell papers!" rather than do some actual work....

I'm sure you've got a lot of dirt but for once I'M (SiouxMeNow - famed crusher of anything ndsu ) trying to take the high road here I assume there's no long-term contract here and they're probably stuck for this season. The SAD part of that is hiring a new coach, restoring credibility and recruiting good players is going to be a multi-year process...I'm afraid we're in for at least a couple more years of this....

you might be running short of real estate around Memorial soon...the EERC will likely win the fight to take down the old Ralph to make room for the National Hydrogen Center and if you've noticed recently - the east bleachers have been dismantled and sold so it's empty on the old visitors side...

yeah - THANKS! I'm sure it would have been really tough to get into the GW but what if the Gateway only takes SDSU (since only 1 school is leaving) I doubt they'd want to take a team that beat one and almost two di-a teams this season...
