  1. Is this the P5-G5 split I predicted several years ago? What shockwaves will be generated from this that will impact schools in all current Divisions/Subdivisions?
  2. Fair enough, but I have serious doubts that Bubba is the person to take our program any further.
  3. You are suggesting a choice exists between winning and the things you mentioned. That is absolutely not true. The belief in this false choice is one of the things holding us back.
  4. Good point. I think those new requirements for schools being FBS will force some G5 programs to drop down to FCS when they go into effect in a few years. Some of them simply won't be able to meet the requirements.
  5. Which FBS teams? G5 or P5. Because G5 and P5 are in the same subdivision in name only.
  6. How many athletes at the FCS level would be attractive to a FBS program? They ended up in FCS for a reason. Not many players slip under the radar anymore. Jim Kleinsasser would have likely ended up at an FBS school if he were graduating high school today. Aside from the occasional "late bloomers", I don't see a lot of FCS players being offered by FBS schools.
  7. You have to win your conference home games, because you will lose some conference games on the road. The league is just too good top to bottom. We lost to Miami at home last season. And it didn't help our cause at the end of the year.
  8. If we can't afford to do what is necessary to be competitive in Division I, we should move FB to the Pioneer League or just drop the sport. Or move back down to Division II, where we can win with very few resources. This Division I move was poorly planned from the start. Doing something this large and consequential because someone else did it (NDSU, SDSU) is never a good reason to do something. The results (or lack thereof) are all the evidence you need.
  9. Here we go: Instead of the GoFundMe page, please post your pledges here. And since people are wondering, I am a cat owner. Here is a photo of Hawthorne, my almost 4 year old orange domestic short hair. I got him a little before Christmas last year. And yes, I love him to pieces.
  10. This must be a sweep at home.
  11. You will never eliminate all complaints. But you will have far fewer of them with 12 teams vs 4 teams.
  12. I don't remember seeing it anywhere else.
  13. Funny thing is, it won't matter next season as the field will expand to 12.
  14. Wow, a lot of "We just can't do it" thinking here. No wonder we can't build our non-hockey Division I programs, the "can't do" mentality prevents us from getting past square one. The "sit back and wait" approach won't work in this environment. I don't want to become the next Northern Colorado.
  15. Better to lose now and not in March or April.
  16. Maybe the altitude caught up with them?
  17. A 4 point weekend at Denver is pretty good. They would love to trade places with us.
  18. Let's think positive until we have reason not to.
  19. Home cooking? More like an all-you-can-eat buffet!
  20. Gotta catch him first.
  21. Sandbagging much?
  22. Just don't throw a stick into the stands.
  23. Somebody on here compared Bubba to Eeyore. I think there is some validity to that.
