  1. Have you seen how much bigger the budgets are for FBS schools vs. FCS schools? It's insane how big the gap is between FBS and everything else below it. Travel would also be much more expensive.
  2. Moving up from FCS to FBS is a lot more complicated and expensive than moving up from D-2 to FCS.
  3. Emojis are your friend.
  4. Most of college athletics is funded by "someone else's money". If we aren't willing to up our fund raising (which involves "someone else's money"), we might as well adopt the Rutgers model and not care if our teams are any good or not. Either adapt or get left behind.
  5. Sounds like it. It is good that alumni support the institution that gave them their start in life.
  6. I did support dropping the number of sports we sponsor. The old number was not sustainable as a Division I institution.
  7. Strawmen my a$$. I point out shortcomings in the athletic department and you call them strawmen. Whatever makes you feel better.
  8. I get that, but not all private schools have a UST level of commitment from their alumni.
  9. UND has had a strong academic and research foundation for quite awhile. When do you think it will "work its way into the athletic on-field performance"? Is that something that will happen organically?
  10. $6 million a year? At Quinnipiac? That is stunning.
  11. No, it was a response to a snotty cheap shot.
  12. That's what tailgating is for!
  13. Concession food has always been grossly overpriced.
  14. I'm being facetious.
  15. But according to some of the geniuses here, only donations of $100,000+ are worth discussing (sarcasm).
  16. Trade deadline is tomorrow. Any potential moves the Vikings may make?
  17. Depends on how pi$$ed off they are.
  18. Very good question. Because he is the biggest part of the problem.
  19. If the opinions and perspectives of alumni, fans and financial supporters of the athletic department "don't matter", that is the root of the whole problem. Chaves is probably the biggest problem because he is in charge of the whole department. President Armacost is the only one who can change anything. andrew.armacost@UND.edu And if you think everything is fine as is, I guess you can send a message too.
  20. The players are college kids, but the coaches are paid professionals who should be held to a certain standard. And I, like others here, "choose" to care about the state of our programs.
  21. And according to some people on this forum, we shouldn't say anything either.
  22. I don't take snotty cheap shots at people.
  23. UND keeps putting players in the NHL. Despite being in a poor location. UND is a blue blood in this sport. Period. The only thing that can change that is poor management. Which is the topic of this thread.
  24. Quinnipiac is a small, private school in Connecticut. And yet, they have national success. With a fraction of the resources we have.
  25. So it's "plucky little mid major" time? Sorry, not in this or any other lifetime. Talent is not the problem with this team. How they perform in March is.
