Private schools should be required to play with the big schools.

I meant the snobs down there don't like the "Outstate Minnesota" schools to win. Red Wing is much closer to the Twin Cities than Warroad is. Same with EGF and Moorhead, they always get the backhanded compliments and snide comments. It does make their successes sweeter though.

I know when Red Wing and Warroad were fighting over the Class A title, the Twin Cities hockey snobs always pulled for Red Wing. Same when Benilde-St. Margaret battled EGF for the Class A title when Jim Scanlon was head coach.

I love it when EGF does well in St. Paul; the suburban hockey snobs hate it. Same with Moorhead.

Other than that, they didn't win anything else. EWU athletics overall went down the toilet under his watch.

If it's going to be all about "Class 2A", then just go back to the one class system. Sometimes I think they do things just to force a change back to one class.

I always support the Section 8 teams when they go to St. Paul in March.

Enough of this mid-major talk. Our problem is that Berry is not head coaching material. We bring in talent and they regress over time. That's on the coaches. And that is why we need a change at the top. And I don't think Hakstol will ever go back to college hockey. He'll probably go back to the NHL at some point. We need to go younger with our next head coach.

Schmidt has been very busy. I like it.

So would several other teams.

It depends on how much more money UND would offer them. If it's significant, I think they would take it.

To be fair, GFRR looked shaky early in the year.

On another note, it is amazing how many former UND players have contributed to the growth and success of Greater Grand Forks hockey over the years.

Central wins 30th state title 2-1 over Red River. Both schools have a combined 51 state titles.

A new coach would have to reach out to them and sell his vision for the program. Eric Schmidt had to do that when he took over FB and I think he kept most of the players he wanted.

Everyone except the FB and Soccer coaches should be replaced. But we must start with Chaves. We need new leadership in the athletic department. We are a regional laughingstock in college athletics and I am sick of it.
