Anything that makes us forget about the infernal Olsen twins is a good thing! ABC used to ram them down our throats in the 1990's. Thank God they are adults now and the media doesn't seem to care about what they are doing. As for the Lamoureux twins, I can't wait to get them into Green and White uniforms. They will help push the women's program to the next level; we are really close to a big breakout right now.

I really hope that said players are single. We don't want a Tiger Woods style scandal in the NHL.

In other words, anything north of Harwood, south of Horace, west of Casselton and east of Dilworth (I suggest we lump Cass and Clay counties together) is "International" and really doesn't matter.

You are right, some southern markets have not worked out. But some places (Carolina, Dallas, Tampa) have worked out all right. Each of those places have won a Stanley Cup. And Nashville has built a solid, consistent team. I do think Hamilton (Ont.), Winnipeg and Quebec City should get a chance at the NHL. The fan interest and support would make up for the lack of population base. What's the point of having a large metro area if 95% of them don't care about hockey and won't give it a chance?

This series is very, very important to this team's chances at a postseason run. Getting home ice will make it much easier to get to St. Paul and the Final Five. I know some people on here think the Final Five is meaningless, but not this year. Winning a couple of games in St. Paul could help boost our PWR to the point where we will get a solid NCAA bid. Not getting to St. Paul could result in us having to have help making the NCAA's and possibly not getting enough of that help. Bottom line: Get home ice, get to St. Paul, win a couple of games there and we'll get our chance at the big stage in March and April.

We played solid, consistent hockey for 60 minutes tonight. We killed penalties when we needed to. We converted on the powerplay. We didn't take a lot of stupid penalties. Those are things that have not always been there this season and it was nice to see them tonight. And finishing can make the difference between winning and losing. You will get X number of scoring chances in a game and you had better capitalize on them when you get a chance (hot goalies notwithstanding). We have struggled with that all season until tonight. And it just gets very frustrating when as a fan you get all excited about a big series and then it all goes down the drain because somebody misses an open net or fails to even get a shot on goal on an odd-man rush. Those are valid things to criticize a team for. Tonight was a big step in the right direction, but whether this team can play well on a consistent basis down the stretch is the question that must be answered.

You are right. Fairweather fans are on the bandwagon when the team wins and apathetic when they don't. Real fans are not happy about losses and want the team to start winning again.

Easy now, let's not get personal here. Having said that, I am on your side on this one. Being critical when it's valid to be critical is NOT fairweather. It is far, far worse to be apathetic and not care about the team than to be critical of them.

I have mixed feelings about that series. I don't like Rodentia and never will, but Denver has moved up my list of teams I do not like. But it is always nice to watch Rodentia fall further and further into the abyss.

Let's hope we can carry this over to next weekend. Another big four points at stake at home.
