2012 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs

I wonder how much "Torts" will whine and complain about his season being done? Thank God that clown is out of the picture until next year. -

Don't stoop to their level. They have lost and they just don't realize it yet. Or they simply don't want to.

Ever since Karl Goehring graduated and moved on, our fan base has always whined and moaned about the goaltending at one point or another. Every goaltender we have had over the past ten years has been raked over the hot coals by our fans at one point or another. Anytime we lose, it's the goaltender's fault. I think it's time we all realize that this is a team game and you win and lose as a team. While I don't think Dell is the best we've had over the past ten years, he has been good for the most part and good enough for us to win most of our games. I can almost guarrantee you that Gothberg will be burned at the stake by the same people that are talking him up today.

Or the Nazi death camps in Europe.

Wow, what a bunch of granola-eating, politically correct hippies! It's plainly obvious that they have had it in for the nickname and logo all along, so we should just shun them and vote no on June 12th, right? Only if you believe the irrational rantings of the "nickname at all costs" crowd, led by the "incomparable" Rob Port. If you want your sanity intact, please get out and vote YES on Measure 4 so we can move on and build a successful Division I athletic department.

This is pure baloney. What GF folks are sick and tired of is the CHL lying and distorting the truth to get kids to sign with them. The idea that the CHL is "the fast track to the pros" is pure garbage and is not supported by the facts. What about all the kids that didn't pan out in the CHL and were tossed aside after their usefulness was at an end? They can't go back and change their minds, it's too late for them. Too bad, so sad, right? It is time that College Hockey, Inc. fight fire with fire. Get some stories from kids that were used and discarded by the CHL. Get some stories from kids that were promised the moon to sign and then were shocked to learn that it "just doesn't work that way here". Get some stories from kids that were promised help to pay for their education and then didn't get the help when they needed it. I, for one, am so sick and tired of the conciliatory approach that our fans and fans of college hockey take towards the CHL. I can guarrantee you that the CHL does NOT take the same kumbaya approach towards us. This is war and I want to win. Do you?

Where is the "nickname at all costs" crowd now? Where are all the conspiracy theories as to why the poll came out the way it did? I would bet Rob Port is blowing his stack right now!

What the heck are you talking about? You, DaveK, yababy8 and everyone else on the Vote No bandwagon have had free reign to express yourselves on here. It's not my (or anyone else's fault) that you are a part of a radical, extreme minority.

Not when it comes time to pick FCS playoff teams.

After the SD Mines game, the schedule looks pretty darn good. Just think of it as a good tune-up game to get a bunch of young guys some game-time experience.

2012 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs

I'm with you on those predictions and I think an L.A.-N.J. final would be great to watch. -
After years of pure stupidity and nonsense, the head honchos of the Bull Crap Series have finally caved in to public demands for a playoff system for NCAA FBS Football. http://azstarnet.com...d445a88de0.html Some of my fellow playoff hounds think this doesn't go far enough, but I think it's a big, big step in the right direction. I've been waiting years for this development and I for one will not look this gift horse in the mouth. Sure, four teams is a very small sample, but I think it is all but inevitable that this number will go up in the future. As soon as the bean counters get a taste of the tremendous money-making potential of a true tournament, they will be pushing to have more and more teams in it, and all the political and legal crap will be pushed aside. 2014 can't come soon enough!

Neither do Fetch, DaveK, yababy8 and a few other extremists on here.

Possible new sport for Grand Forks-Hockey Bikini League

That would make Fetch happy! -
No home playoff games ever = loss of recruits to NDSU, SDSU, USD and God only knows who else. Having a fancy IPF will help some, but if it's close between us and someone else, someone else will win if we are banned from home playoff games forever.
