Where is the "nickname at all costs" crowd now? Where are all the conspiracy theories as to why the poll came out the way it did? I would bet Rob Port is blowing his stack right now!

What the heck are you talking about? You, DaveK, yababy8 and everyone else on the Vote No bandwagon have had free reign to express yourselves on here. It's not my (or anyone else's fault) that you are a part of a radical, extreme minority.

Not when it comes time to pick FCS playoff teams.

After the SD Mines game, the schedule looks pretty darn good. Just think of it as a good tune-up game to get a bunch of young guys some game-time experience.

2012 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs

I'm with you on those predictions and I think an L.A.-N.J. final would be great to watch. -
After years of pure stupidity and nonsense, the head honchos of the Bull Crap Series have finally caved in to public demands for a playoff system for NCAA FBS Football. http://azstarnet.com...d445a88de0.html Some of my fellow playoff hounds think this doesn't go far enough, but I think it's a big, big step in the right direction. I've been waiting years for this development and I for one will not look this gift horse in the mouth. Sure, four teams is a very small sample, but I think it is all but inevitable that this number will go up in the future. As soon as the bean counters get a taste of the tremendous money-making potential of a true tournament, they will be pushing to have more and more teams in it, and all the political and legal crap will be pushed aside. 2014 can't come soon enough!

Possible new sport for Grand Forks-Hockey Bikini League
fightingsioux4life replied to Ice Arena Man's topic in Other Sports
That would make Fetch happy! -
No home playoff games ever = loss of recruits to NDSU, SDSU, USD and God only knows who else. Having a fancy IPF will help some, but if it's close between us and someone else, someone else will win if we are banned from home playoff games forever.

What's next, no Facebook? No texting from cellphones? No cellphones at all? The technological world isn't going away because some people wish it would. You can't sequester all your student-athletes for five years, this isn't the OJ Simpson Trial. If Montana loses kids over this, I won't feel sorry for them. In fact, I hope they make a trip to Grand Forks, ND.

Solitary confinement in Leed ND school system.

And the Dr. Laura crowd believes that anything and everything that happens to you in life (abuse, neglect) is YOUR fault and YOU are responsible for it (a.k.a. blame the victim). There are extremist viewpoints on both sides; the truth (as usual) lies somewhere in the middle. It was my experience growing up that the kids who made the most trouble at school are the kids that had problems at home. Without counseling and help from responsible and caring adults, these kids will grow up with all sorts of emotional and mental health problems. Instead, our society chooses to just throw everyone in jail and forget about them. The U.S. has the largest prison population in the world and a lot of those people would be productive members of society if they had gotten the proper intervention as kids. For example, the little girl in the story I posted this morning will need a lot of emotional support and counseling to overcome what has been inflicted on her by these so-called "parents". What we need is more common-sense and less nonsense. -

Humiliation of child lands mother in jail http://www.startribu.../150709235.html Yeah, THAT will teach this girl to get better grades!!! These idiots should be stripped of their parental rights and prohibited from contact with this poor little girl. And they think it's "funny"? If I was the judge handing out the sentences, they wouldn't be laughing anymore. -
The problem I have with the CHL is the sneaky and slimy tactics they use in getting kids to choose them over the NCAA. If a kid wants to choose the CHL path, that's fine. I just don't think they always have all the information they should have before they make that decision and this is because of NCAA rules and the deceptive tactics of the CHL.

Now that the Devils have disposed of Team Thug 'N Slug, I hope they are the Eastern Conference representative in the Stanley Cup Finals. I think they have a solid chance of winning it all this year. -
Would the proposed renovations to the Target Center help in regards to the NCHC having their tournament there?

Vikings stadium plan clears Minnesota House...... http://news.bostonhe...position=recent ........and once again, Ziggy's favorite mouthpiece (Lester Bagley) is not happy: Now it's on to the Senate. -
Without home playoff games, UND football will gradually decline in strength and vitality. Other schools can and will use that against us in recruiting. And the UND Women's Hockey team will suffer from this as well. Vote YES and help to ensure a healthy, successful future for UND athletics.
