This is a fair comment on the situation.

Their time is coming. And when it does, I hope it is our program that replaces them at the top of the heap in NCAA women's hockey. That should put a stop to those smiling mugs on the front of the Star Tribune sports section; the sooner the better.

This is the same type of logic that supporters of Doug Woog used in the 1990's when they were getting to the Frozen Four on a regular basis and not winning it. And Hakstol's record is starting to look very much like Woog's during the 1980's and 90's. Eventually, Woog's program degraded to the point where he was forced out in 1999. I don't know if that will happen to Hakstol and I hope it doesn't. I have nothing personal against Hakstol, but if we are going to win NCAA titles again, he will have to show a willingness to make in-game adjustments to his systems and game plans when they are warranted. It makes absolutely no sense to recruit speedy, skilled forwards and then use them in a system better suited for bigger, slower checking-line type forwards that can punish you for 60 minutes and wear you down. I think that is the point some people are making right now. As for the Blaiser, he is getting close to retirement and probably cares more about his grandchildren than winning another NCAA title. Whomever coaches after Hakstol will be young, hungry, energetic and innovative. And I hope that is only after Hakstol adds a couple of NCAA title banners to REA and Hakstol gets an NHL coaching offer he can't refuse.

I think Bison fans want UND in the Summit/MVFC because, deep down in places they don't talk about at parties, they want (they NEED) UND back on their schedules for ALL sports EVERY year. But their Chapman-induced Ego Inflation Disorders, which are only made worse by their ubiquitous media megaphones KFGO and KVLY, won't allow them to express this in public, certainly not on siouxsports.com. Forbidden fruit is always the tastiest, isn't it?

This makes a buyout cheaper in the long run than maintaining the status quo. The vision of a sub 6,000 Potato Bowl attendance figure should make Faison and Kelley think twice about keeping Mussman on board.
-
Pure wishful thinking. Enjoy the next 48 hours. After that, this program gets a fresh start. Much to your chagrin.
-
If the Patriarch of Positivity is talking like this, then you know things are bad.
-
Careful, you'll be accused of wanting Hakstol fired when all you are doing is making a fair observation.
-
Don't you know Irish, it isn't kosher to talk about past accomplishments on here! It's all about what's happened from Fall 2004 to tonight! FWIW, I agree with you.

The fact that these two things are no longer considered synonymous with each other explains a lot of the problems in America today (including sports coverage of all kinds).

Then why did they demand an exclusive contract with the NCHC? Sorry DaveK, but I will blame them for this because they are screwing us over big time. Every time we are screwed out of a player by the CHL or television coverage by somebody, we are told that "We can't blame them for this and that". Well, enough is enough; I am sick and tired of it! If they don't want to put NCHC games on their precious little network, then why did they sign the deal in the first place? As soon as possible, we need to tell CBSSN to take a hike and not let the door hit their prominent posteriors on the way out. Then we should explore all viable options for getting our games on television that don't involve bait and switch tactics like this. End Rant.

I am one of those eight posters you speak of. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Yep, you are correct. Of course, the official UND press release said they left to explore "educational opportunities that weren't available here". Yeah, and the Vikings are Super Bowl contenders this year.

Please accept my condolences. I lost a friend 6 years ago to Huntington's Disease (a hereditary neurodegenerative disorder, no treatment and no cure) and it was an extremely difficult five days between his death and the funeral, in which I was one of the pallbearers. Give yourself time to grieve and have someone to just talk to, you need to get this stuff out of your system. My prayers are with you during this difficult time. God bless.

My black and white jerseys have my last name on the back. The white jersey has #7 on it and the black jersey has #10. My green jersey has "Sioux Alum" on the back with the #98 (I received my Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration in May 1998). As for putting your own name on the back, I think it's cool. I know Dan "The Common Man" Cole complains about people doing it, but I think he's full of crap on that (and other things too, but that's another topic! ). And all of my jerseys have the captain's "C" on the front.

I had them sent off for customizing and they were shipped directly to my house via UPS. They all looked fabulous.
-
Last year, I had three authentic Sioux jerseys customized at the Sioux Shop (one white, one green and one black). I have other jerseys, but they were getting a little worn in places. I also have several of the old geometric jerseys from the 1990's.

Maybe if you improved your grammar?

If that is the case, then I have attended my last athletic event at the U of M.

All I really care about in football is scoring defense. I have never really cared all that much about total defense, which is based on yards given up. And based on scoring defense, we are 0.8 ppg better than in 2012. Our regression on offense (including the alarming increase in turnovers) has more than cancelled out that meager improvement on defense. And, if you throw out the Valpo game, the defense gave up 36.33 ppg. We still have a long road ahead of us to get the defense back to what it once was, our bedrock, our bread and butter.
-
When they can walk to some of their road games, they shouldn't judge how we travel.

Good points. I was on the fence with Mussman before the season started. I jumped on the Fire Muss bandwagon after the two home blowout losses to Montana and Montana State. I think some people on here were ahead of the rest of us (me included) when they started questioning Mussman's leadership skills after the Sioux Falls debacle in 2009.
