  1. I thought I was the only one that used that word!
  2. I never said that Mafia; I said cutting him now would be premature. That doesn't mean they won't eventually cut him; it depends on what happens within the court system. I hate what he did as much as you, but we have a legal process in this country and it will be followed. Being charged with a crime and having to post bail isn't a small thing, especially for someone with a big public profile like AP. I am thinking he'll have to agree to supervised visits with his 4 year old son and pay a fine. I do think he'll avoid jail time based on him not having a prior criminal record. I really do hope he learns from this and uses better judgement in the future.
  3. It's way too early to even think of releasing him. He hasn't been convicted yet. If they did that, Jerry Jones would swoop right in and snatch him up and I don't want the Cowgirls to benefit from all this. I am thinking since he doesn't have a prior criminal record, he'll get off easier than a serial criminal would. But I do hope he learns something from this and doesn't get carried away again.
  4. It's a long, flexible tree branch with the leaves stripped off. It works as a whip. And based on those pictures, it works pretty doggone well.
  5. It would be better than "Green and White".
  6. ESPN The Magazine picked the Vikings to finish 3-13 (and that was WITH AP in the lineup). If they keep turning it over like they did vs. the Patriots, that record is not out of the question. Of course, that would give them another high 1st round draft choice and they might need it to pick AP's replacement depending on what happens with his child abuse case.
  7. I think people bought into all those stupid "fist bumps" the coaches talked about when they got a verbal commitment. I also think part of it is that after a bad transition, we all were looking for some silver lining because if you don't do that, you start to get discouraged and lose interest as a fan. Basically, Muss and his staff focused too much on athleticism and not enough on discipline and character. All those disco rehearsals on our sideline last year when we were down by 40 points made me want to throw up!
  8. Considering that Bubba is basically starting over from scratch (think Incarnate Word territory), this shouldn't surprise anyone. Patience everyone. Good things come to those who wait.
  9. And Weber St. looks better this year. Yeah, it ain't looking good, is it?
  10. These are Mussman's recruits, thus the lack of discipline. It takes longer than spring practice, fall practice and three games to fix something like that. I think Bubba's recruits will be kids that are disciplined players to begin with. That is when you see a big difference.
  11. Idaho State and Northern Colorado are probably winnable games for us. And maybe next week. Besides that.....probably not.
  12. That doesn't give the FU trolls the right to come on here and try to start trouble. This is what people are getting sick and tired of on this forum. But you are right, it is pretty bad. I think it's beyond pathetic at this point; even the 1986 team Roger Thomas started out with had more offensive weapons than this team.
  13. Get lost son, I am not in the mood for you tonight.
  14. But this isn't a case of a parent spanking their child and leaving their butt a little sore. Any appropriate corporal punishment of a child will not leave marks like that one week afterwards. There is a tendency of some people to label anything and everything a parent does to discipline their child as "good old fashioned discipline". And they are the ones on Facebook defending this crap as "the way things used to be and the way things ought to be again". I will also point out that child abuse gets worse over time without some sort of intervention. What's it going to be next time? A caning to the bare back? A belt whipping to the bare legs? Are those examples of "good old fashioned discipline" too? I say no, they are crimes and need to be treated as such. I think AP could lose parental rights over this and I think that would be an appropriate punishment. End rant. Go Vikings (the ones that don't abuse their kids).
  15. Remember all those media reports over the summer speculating that the Vikings would release AP in a couple of years because of his salary cap number? Maybe those journalists knew something that the rest of us didn't know. This has been brewing for months, it is just now taking off in the media.
  16. Well, the Vikings won big last week and AP had 75 yards rushing, which is low for him. If the defense keeps playing well and gets better, the Vikings should be okay. As for AP and the charges, I am disappointed in him. Whatever happens, the Vikings under Mike Zimmer will go on. I am still optimistic with the roster Spielman is putting together and that they finally have a coaching staff that has a clue. No matter how this turns out, there will be life after AP.
  17. Every time I drive over the Columbia Road overpass, I see more and more steel go up!
  18. Honestly, I am surprised Faison doesn't agree to have all future matches in Fargo. You cave in once, it's hard to stop.
  19. I wonder how much it will freeze up during game action?
  20. He does make a good point.
  21. Just keep running your yap. What goes around comes around.
  22. Mods, please merge this thread with the one in NCAA News.
  23. I'll be there tonight.
  24. So you like being the fly in the ointment? That makes some sense. Of course, since you jinxed us at the 1998 West Regional Hockey Tournament, you have some penance to pay!
  25. Not going to a big event that gives national attention to our hated, in-state rival is now considered pouting? I remember a time when that was considered normal behavior by a college sports fan. But today I guess we are just expected to kiss the posteriors of our rivals. Well, call me a rebel, but I ain't doing that.
