  1. How the AC does impacts UND and it's programs because it is in the same state and is located only 80 miles away. Like it or not, their success combined with our mediocrity makes it harder for us to get our programs to where we all want them.
  2. I think UND fans are just sick of hearing about Carson Wentz because we are just sick of having NDSU shoved down our throat 24/7/365. All you hear outside of the Grand Forks city limits is Bison this, Bison that. I have seen way too many people in Grand Forks wearing Bison gear. That never used to happen. But that is what happens when one school in North Dakota has stunning success at the Division I level and the other has a crappy transition period and is still struggling mightily in more than one sport. It is nauseating to see how far UND athletics has fallen over the past 10 years or so; our regional profile has never been worse and we risk losing an entire generation of fans both in-state and regionally. Bubba is getting FB turned around in a hurry, but other than that program and Men's Hockey, our programs are just "Meh". Carson Wentz is not the real issue here, it's the frustration level that some of us are feeling with regard to the very different paths UND and NDSU have taken over the past 10 years. Whether Wentz can or will cut it in the NFL is just a proxy discussion connected to the 800 pound gorilla in the room that I just pointed out.
  3. I don't understand their struggles this year. They have talent; I hope they don't figure it out in March. Btw, you skipped 2014-15. And 2010-11.....we know what happened that year.
  4. He's done pretty well ever since the Bulldogs moved out of the DECC and into AMSOIL Arena. That had to make recruiting easier.
  5. I would love to lay a beat-down on the Gophers, I miss playing them. #damnbigten, #damnpennstatewealthyalum
  6. Yeah, all he does is put together a line-up card and then sits back and watches.
  7. Well, I think they'll have everybody back for the Denver road series in two weeks. That will help big-time.
  8. Honestly, the Senior Bowl and the Scouting Combine are horribly overrated. And I really don't care about anything other than what my Minnesota Vikings do on draft day. Which is a lot more pleasant to watch now that Denny Green isn't around making bad decisions (pass up on Warren Sapp, are you *bleeping* kidding me?) anymore.
  9. No, it's simply dishing it out and not just taking it. Especially on a forum called siouxsports.com....not to be confused with Bisonville.
  10. Like I said, I have nothing against anyone on NDSU's team that makes it at the next level. That is always a tremendous accomplishment, especially for a kid from an FCS or lower school. I just take exception to the idea that we are supposed to be all nice and sweet and objective towards NDSU and their alums on our own discussion forum when the same thing does NOT take place on Bisonville. Rivals are going to be biased against each other, that is the nature of the beast. Oh wait, that's right, your REAL rival now is SDSU and that stupid piece of crap Dakota Marker Trophy you play for every year. Sorry for the confusion.
  11. Just like all those Bison rubes who liked to make snide comments about Jimmy Kleinsasser back during his assent as a top NFL prospect and subsequent career with the Vikings. Turnabout is fair play. I have nothing against Wentz or anyone else from FU that makes it at the next level (CFL or NFL), but I am also not on the edge of my seat with anticipation as to where they end up or how high they are drafted. If that's "butt hurt", then so be it. One good turn deserves another.
  12. I am thinking that hosting the Super Bowl brings in a lot of people into town, even two weeks out. The media is already covering the game, which is one week away.
  13. I don't care what he did as a player, I think he has been very overrated as a college head coach. All the programs at Wisconsin have a lot of assets and resources to work with, but his teams have traditionally underachieved. If Madison wasn't so football and basketball crazy, I think Eaves would have been gone a couple of years ago. What's happening there now would not be tolerated in Grand Forks.
  14. I wonder how many talented kids they have lost because they weren't interested in backchecking for 45 minutes every game for four years? I imagine Hakstol and his staff benefited from that in the recruiting game.
  15. The stars aligned for them in 2006, but other than that, they often played down to the level of their competition. They rarely made the Final Five in St. Paul and usually ended up in the 3rd place game. And yes, I was critical of Hakstol for not finishing the job at the end of the year despite having some of the best blue-chip talent in the country. But that doesn't mean I would have traded Hakstol for Eaves when both of them were coaching in college, Hakstol was clearly a better coach and recruiter than Eaves. Not to mention that Hakstol's teams (while often times overly conservative) were still 10 times as much fun to watch than Eaves and his pre-2004 NHL lockout style of hockey. Other than 2006, that program hasn't done much either within their conference (WCHA or Big Ten) or even nationally.
  16. Having next weekend off is a blessing for this team; hopefully we'll get most of our guys healed up for Denver.
  17. I agree with the bolded part 100% How did he ever get that job in the first place? I had never heard of Eaves before Wisconsin hired him to replace Jeff Sauer. I was like "Who the heck is this?" I always believed Mark Johnson (Badger Bob's son) would replace Sauer and I think the Badgers would be in better shape now if they had.
  18. Then perhaps you can blame it on Al Davis; he lost his touch in his later years with his drafting skills.
  19. So did JaMarcus Russell and we all know how well that worked out for Commitment to Excrement.
  20. Maybe that long review helped us recharge a little?
  21. If we are that shallow, then we better hope we get everyone back soon.
  22. That didn't stop us from scoring 10 goals last weekend.
  23. The fact they want more money from the students tells you that there is a cash shortage somewhere; they just aren't giving us the details.
  24. This is the false narrative that has been pushed by NDSU and the Imperial Cass County Media Establishment for some time now. It has been pushed to promote the image of NDSU as a "big-time Division I Institution". Problem is, the numbers don't add up on the spreadsheet.
