  1. I believe Mike Berg pointed that out on the radio.
  2. The D got tired because the offense stopped moving the ball and started going 3 and out over and over again. As for not subbing on defense, that is where building quality depth comes into play. Bubba and his staff haven't been here long enough to build up depth across the board. That is what they are working on right now.
  3. If we keep winning games and getting high playoff seeds, the profile of the program will continue to rise. I am as sick about last night as anyone else here, but we have to keep looking at the big picture, people. Bubba has us going places......eventually one of those places will be Frisco, TX.
  4. I think EWU was looking forward to completing big gains vs. our young and somewhat thin secondary. But I think they'll put up a lot of points vs. Richmond next week. They are a serious contender to make it to Frisco.
  5. Yeah, he makes some strange play calls. And tonight it helped turn the game against us.
  6. I couldn't agree with you more. We'll get there. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will this program.
  7. Great turnout by the Grand Forks community! Can't say enough about the support they gave the team tonight. We'll need more of that next season and beyond.
  8. This is how I feel as well. The guys will learn from this and work that much harder to prevent it from happening again.
  9. If people are going to give up on the program over one disappointing loss, then they probably weren't going to stick with the team anyway. This program is going in the right direction; we just need to build more depth and get our younger guys more experience. They will learn from this painful experience and they won't let it happen again.
  10. Go away, troll.
  11. So how did they led FCS in INTs this season? That is what won the game vs. N. Arizona a few weeks ago. That is an area that needs to improve and it will, but they did some good things this season. And they will get better.
  12. Let's hope that happens next weekend at the FargoDump.
  13. Btw, who was it that ran into the kicker and started this epic meltdown? I suggest we name him Bill Buckner.
  14. I honestly hope Richmond gets destroyed next week at EWU. This loss will hurt for awhile.
  15. I believe back in 1998, Red River beat Wahpeton-Breckenridge 24-2 in the First Round of the EDC tournament at Purpur Arena. Red River had more goals than Wahp-Breck had shots on goal, so Red River could have played without a goalie and still won by double digits.
  16. I am thinking the attendance will be good to great for this game. Now we need to make sure everyone is loud on ALL downs (not just 3rd and 4th).
  17. That defense was so much fun to watch. And it is great that we are getting back to that style. Can't believe this was 15 years ago today!
  18. I second this. They aren't posting their stupid "Bubba Gump" jokes on here anymore, so that is a positive.
  19. Our close, personal friend DaveK has an extensive collection of past games. Perhaps you should PM him?
  20. Exactly, this is how you build an alumni base that is willing to give back when they are established and successful. Pay it forward.
  21. One thing that is tough to measure is how many of our goals against are the result of sloppy d-zone play vs sloppy goaltending. You can give up 17 shots on goal, but if there are 3 defensive break downs that result in goals, that will skew the save percentage considerably.
  22. Thank you for totally missing the point of this entire topic. Have a nice day.
  23. My point is that if we draw 7,000 or less, you cannot blame it entirely on the game in NYC. We should be able to compensate the loss of some FB/MH dual season ticket holders for a second-round FCS playoff game with people who maybe haven't checked a game out yet. I just don't want the NYC game to be used as a crutch.
  24. I am tired of hearing this rationalization. There are a lot of people who either cannot afford to go to NYC or couldn't make it work with their schedules. There also are people who cannot afford hockey tickets who probably could afford football tickets that we could get hooked on football if we just get them in the door a couple of times. Those are the people we need to target. Not just for Saturday's game, but for future games. There is a lot of untapped potential for this program when it comes to building the fan base.
