Correct answer. There are no moral victories. It's Natty or bust!

I think Denver or Michigan will have their hands full with UND. We deserve to be here just as much as they do. I really don't think the reigning NCHC Penrose Cup champions are necessarily huge underdogs against either of those teams.
-
Whether or not either hire ends up working out will be interesting to watch.
-
You will NEVER, EVER catch me doing that. I do not like front-running fans. It is truly nauseating.

This would be a great time to reassert ourselves on the national stage by winning #9. Just think of the positive press and the impression we could make on prospective recruits.
-
Even so, I could still see some of their players leaving for NIL offers and/or higher profile programs.
-
Maybe the new coaching staff will better connect with them and get them to play better. Sometimes all it takes is a new voice.

Probably a good idea. The longer he stays in one place, the more problems he causes.

Does anyone know how many portal losses our peer schools in the Summit are experiencing?

2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
fightingsioux4life replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Our last losing season was 2001-2002 (the first season in the new REA). Before that, you have to go back to 1993-1994 (Gino's last season in charge). And before THAT, you have to go back to 1977-1978 (Rube Bjorkman's last season in charge). -
I have two of them.

Exactly, they'll fire him once they get sick of his temper tantrums.
-
All 100% true. However, we have fallen to 3rd place in Nattys. And next week is a golden opportunity to move into a second place tie with Michigan.
-
I went to UND from 1993 to 2000, so I saw two NCAA titles (1997 & 2000).

If we can afford to buy out Bubba and Berry within months of each other, why can't we afford to hire a competent WBB coach?
-
A lot of P4 FBS players don't make it in the NFL either. It's one of the most exclusive clubs in the world.
-
First they have to find fans to fill it up on a regular basis.
-
They "just don't have" a lot of things. Screw the Pohlads and their bargain-basement Triple A caliber team.
-
I don't doubt that. But you need to have a plan in place. Some institutions move up to Division I with no plan on how to be successful and it ends up being a dumpster fire.
-
And lots of other schools with their hands out.
-
You also need commitment, commitment, commitment. Being in Florida doesn't guarantee you success.

2011 was the late game. I remember watching Duluth and Notre Dame before that.
-
I fixed the original post. Thanks for the info. I don't remember anything before 1987.

That 1997 team was sophomore laden, but had just enough upperclassmen to provide leadership and experience. This team is similar.
