I have learned not to judge a season by what happens in October.

Freshmen are coming out of junior hockey where the game is slower and they got used to dominating with raw talent alone. It does not work that way in college.

Talent means nothing when you stand around watching. We have young guys who need to learn you have to play 60 minutes if you want to win consistently from one week to the next. Our non-conference schedule should teach those lessons well.

Take our lumps in October, get it together by Christmas and make a run in March.
