  1. And that's why we want to schedule NDSU for a home game....because they are a winnable game!!
  2. I guess if I couldn't beat a team I wouldn't want to scheule them either!! Just schedule OOC games against teams you can beat
  3. How many hours before the game starts do NDSU studesnts stand in line for games no agianst the teams you play....a few hours? How many hours did the students stand in line for the last Sioux/Bison game in 2002 at the dome? Pretty sure is was at least 6 hours...or more!!! How many threads are there on Bisonville about the Montana State game next year in the dome? Or any other game you have on your schedule? How many posts have there been on this thread about the game and on B-vill about the game? This game is not even on the schedule yet here we are talking about it. Don't tell me that there is no interest for this game or that other games have greater interest to Bison fans. You can't honestly believe that. How many posts have you made on this thread about this potential game? You obviously have interest about it, so don't tell me other Bison fans don't.
  4. UND does use premium pricing for hockey games. So do other schools. Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Denver games are all $15 more per game. 8000 tickets (excluding the students of course) at $15 per per game for those 6 games....do the math, that's $720,000 that UND makes because they charge more for those games. Are people still going to guy those tickets...hell ya!!! And other shcools in the WCHA do it too. Heck, other schools in the NCAA at all levels do it. You think at Alabama charges the same amount for the Vanderbilt game as they do the Auburn game?? Absolutley not!! they realize a high demand game when they see one and realize people would pay a premium price for those games. If NDSU doens't think that people would pay 15-20 dollars more for a UND game, then they are seriously morons. That is a lot of revenue to be lost. If NDSU can't realize the benifit of premium pricing, then that's their problem. But no other game in Fargo will be bigger than a UND NDSU football game. Not Montana, SDSU, UNI...no one. People will pay more for the game.
  5. Relax...I was just making a joke. Sure it was at Dave's expense...but he's a big boy he can take it You're right, no one on this site has EVER pushed their views on anyone else!!
  6. If you need help deciding how to vote, do the opposite of what Dave does. So it would be No on 2, Yes on 3, and Yes on 4. That's exactly how I was going to vote. Glad to know that I don't have the same mindset as Dave!!!
  7. Be smart and vote YES
  8. http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/237541/group/Sports/
  9. Students and student athletes that are currently living in Grand Forks this summer WILL get a chance to vote. Their voices will be heard.
  10. What really needs to be decided is are both schools willing to give up an FBS game or a home game every 4 years to play their in state rival. In the world of D1 football, we all know that money is huge factor now. So really both schools need to look at the financial gain or loss that will come from having these games. From NDSU's perspective, they will deffinitely make money by having UND come and play in Fargo. If there is a hojme a home agreement, I doubt that UND will be asking for hundreds of thousands of dollars to play there. So instead of having to pay $200,000 dollars to Robert Morris, you can keep that in your pocket. Plus, like previously stated, NDSU can sell this game as a premium game and make money. Just do the math. Say there are 15,000 tickets sold (taking out students, band, etc). If they sold the UND game for $20 more a ticket, thats $300,000 EXTRA that NDSU would make from this game. So from the money they would use to pay to bring a team in, and the money they would make off of premium priced tickets, that's a profit of $500,000. (just an estimate, of course). So in 2017, NDSU can still schedule 6 home games and still be able to afford not to play an FBS "money game" and play at UND because they have already banked an extra $500,000 in 2015 from scheduling UND at home. To me this makes sense. Unless I am missing something. It doesn't sound like this is a money issue.
  11. I guess it is just frustrating trying to debate with uninformed people. That is what we are trying to do here. Inform the uniformed. For example, your comment says we think keeping the nickname will hurt the FOOTBALL teams chances of playing in the Big Sky. It is much bigger then that. It affects ALL sports playing in the Big Sky....not just football. We get kicked out of the Big Sky, no other conference is going to want to have us and deal with the drama. So then we are left scheduling not only all non conference games for football, but non conference games for basketball, volleyball, etc. Playing teams like Montana, Montana State, Cal Poly, etc. are much more attractive to play for not only fans, but future recruits. If we get stuck scheduling Sioux Falls, Montana Western, Jamestown, Mayville, etc., that is going to not only affect attendance at games, but recruits are not going to want to play for a school that plays down to lower division teams because they don't have a conference. Also no conference means no autobid for playoffs. Makes it harder to make the playoffs. Again, attendance, recruiting, and interest in all sports will suffer. These scenerios aren't way out in left field. We can debate all we want about whether keeping the name will get us kicked out of the Big Sky. But there is that chance. If we keep the name and get kicked out of the Big Sky Conference, these things WILL happen. there is no debate that being a D1 independent in all sports would be harmfull to the program.
  12. Dave should have taken the advice that is on the bottom of all your posts: "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." -Abraham Lincoln American President (1809 - 1865)
  13. So does this mean that you and other "nickname at all costs" people may be wrong? You said it yourself in this post!! So guess what, you could be wrong!! The world is round and keeping the name will hurt UND.
  14. Wait...does this mean if the YES vote prevails, we will retire DaveK as well? Probably the best reason to Vote YES that I have heard so far!!
  15. Unfortunately you do not believe in facts. Undisputable facts. You believe your own misguided beliefs to be facts. I think most of realize that nothing said to you is ever going to change your mind on the subject. That's ok. you're stuborn. Nothings going to change that. What pretty much sums up your misguided argument is where you say "I support the nickname." Now, the majority of us on this site are for the nickname but we support the University of North Dakota first and foremost. Without UND, there is no Fighting Sioux, not the other way around.
  16. Uh duh...AC Slater of course!!! AC....aka...NDAC....aka North Dakota Agricultural College.....aka......NDSU.
  17. So I guess the real question in the debate of "Should UND-NDSU Resume the Football Series?" is will both schools benefit from it. Taylor had mentioned an "every other year" option a few years back, and Faison has now said that option will work as well. So if you look at the actions done by the AD's at both schools, two men that obviously look into the all aspects of it more than you and I do because it is their job, you can assume that it is in the best interests of both schools. So whether you are for or against it, the AD's at both schools apparently think it is beneficial for their respective school and athletic department.
  18. Except the reason for not playing is not the same. UND did not want to play NDSU because it hurt their playoff changes. That was the primary reason. The reason NDSU fans say they shouldn't play is because they would rather have an FBS game or a home game as opposed to playing an FCS game on the road. Both teams are not going to give up a lot. Basically by scheduling it every other year at rotating sites, every 4 years both schools will have to either lose a home game or not play an FBS game. So both schools will have to decide which is more important, a home game or an FBS game. But that decision only has to me made every 4 years. Not to much to ask for.
  19. Exactly. Can you blame RT for not wanting to play NDSU when it not only hurt their playoff chances (only wins agains D2 teams count in the playoff commitees eyes) but they would have cleary had the advantage due to doublt the scholarship players. So all this talk about UND ending the rivalry that is at the root of most Bison fans anger towards UND and not wanting to play them again is just rediculous.
  20. And lets not forget that there are talks about changing the hockey playoff format where top teams would actually host NCAA playoff games.
  21. NDSU has made it a goal not to schedule lower division teams. Their fans rip on UND for playing SD School of Mines, Sioux Falls, etc. Do you really think that NDSU you schedule a D2 team every year instead of playing an FBS team to make money? UND did not want to play NDSU because beating a D1 team hurt their playoff chances in D2. NDSU would have cancelled the game eventually because they would rather make money playing an FBS team. So UND had their reasons, and eventually so would have NDSU. You can blame UND for "ending the rivalry" NDSU fans are the ones that don't want it started again!! If you were so mad in 2004, this is your chance to get it back now than we are on equal playing field. No more excuses!!
  22. Bison fans think they are giving up so much when doing it every other year at rotating venues. If they want their 6 home games they can still have it. All they are really giving up is an FBS game every 4 years!! Not to much sacrifice as FBS games are typically tougher opponents and NDSU is not going to always have the success they have had in the past. So really is it to much to ask to give up an FBS game to play a rival 70 miles away with a better chance of winning the game? I don't think it is.
  23. But its just so hard to be nice to you Bison boys!!!
  24. If the YES vote wins, do the people that are petitioning to change the constitution think they will have the votes in a special election? This may be one of the bigest Primary elections in ND history. Many important issues on the ballot other than measure 4. Measure 2 and 3 are big ones as well. So if a record number of people come out and vote and measure 4 goes YES, how many people do the nickname supporters think they will get in a special election? Especially if it is voted to retire in June? In my opinion, this should be a pretty tell to what the constitutional amendment to keep the name vote would be.
  25. Yes Dave, we are all curious to hear these lies you speak of. Where is the video is a lie told? Don't go off on a tangent, stick to what was said in this video and point out the lies. We are all anxiously waiting your response.
