  1. http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/242980/group/Sports/ So what do you guys thing? Pull Golladay's redshirt? I think we are pretty deep at WR so Muss may hold off on doing that. But can you imagine having Golladay, Hardin, and McGill all lined up with a gunslinger in Hanson throwing to them? Wow!!!
  2. Looking at the ticket availability on ticketmaster, there are still MANY tickets available for the games....even the Montana game. I know that UND football sells a lot of walk up tickets...but with the excitement of this season I would think that we would have at least the Montana game cloe to sold out. Maybe I am being overly optimistic....but there are deffinitely more seats available than I thought there would be after 1 day.
  3. Section 215...The official section of Siouxsports.com!!! Should be a lot of die hards!! No sitting on 3rd down for this section!!!!
  4. I'll be in 215 for every game!! Wow, looks like that is a popular section amongst people here!!!
  5. Oh right!!! that is a good one too!! OK, I will call it 1A and 1B in terms of pep band song ranks!!!
  6. Section 215 is the section that opened up from moving the students down a section. these seats are $90. A little more, but for seats on the 35 yard line, not to bad. I would say for 5 bucks more per game its worth it!!
  7. Have a beer before the game, have one at halftime, watch the 3rd quarter from the endzone UND is scoring at (beer in hand) and go back to your free seat for the 4th. Problem solved
  8. Best Pep Band song in the history of the world!!!!
  9. Single game tickets go on sale today at 10am. It will be interesting to see how sales go. Hoping for a packed Alerus this year!! Get your tickets!!!! http://www.ticketmaster.com/University-of-North-Dakota-Football-tickets/artist/837921?list_view=1&tm_link=Artist_SwitchTo_List
  10. I will be at all the games even if the field was pink. I am a fan of the football team not the turf. Alright, sorry to get this all going about the turf. Lets just focus on the fact we are upgrading our facility and it is going to be better for the team.
  11. The two schools pointed out have a logo at midfield NOW. That is my point I am making. Two schools we are familiar with within a state away both got new turf and have their logo at midfield. Do you see the point I am making? The facilities where those two schools play at were smart enough to recognize their biggest tenant and put their logo at midfield. Newsflash.....Dakota Dome and the Fargodome currently have their logo at midfield. Provide me with current examples. I think the new turf is great. Obviously an upgrade. But I guess I expected more.
  12. Right. that is my point. Venues that you mentioned previously did not have a logo. But they do now. The Dakota Dome and the Fargodome both had a chance to make their field better by adding the logo of the school that primarily plays there. They took advantage of the situation. The Alerus did not. And that is disappointing. Not the end of the world by any means....but disappointing.
  13. I do agree that it is not the end of the world either. I am glad we have the new turf. Just seems the Alerus could have done better with the design. That's all.
  14. FC Dallas Stadium (where the FCS Championship game was played) is a soccer stadium for MLS soccer where there is no logo at midfield. The logo at midfield for the title game was the championship game logo. It is not a college football stadium. And the wiki page example is the Fargodome which currently has a Bison logo now at midfield. I doubt there are many college football teams that play on a field where if there is a logo, it is not related to the school or mascot. That is the point I am making.
  15. Yeah, not sure what more they could have done. The filed is green and the lines on the field are white. Those are already our school colors!! Only thing they could have done was wither make the end zones white or black. Both would have been ugly.
  16. Dana Mogck!!!
  17. This was the original point I was trying to make when I originally posted the installation picture at the Alerus. I noticed there were no logos on the field. I pointed out that the Fargodome turf was installed by the same company and they installed the logos first then the rest of the field. It was not being done that way at the Alerus. My point was it appears the logos are going to be painted on. We know that other venues were able to paint their turf and remove them because of multiple tenants. Look at what they did in the Metrodome wen it was shared by the Vikings and the Gophers. The issue I really meant to bring up was if they are painting on logos, is it posible to remove them, at a later date. If so they could put the ND logo in the middle of the filed and then replace it when we get a new name and logo. I guess we will know in a week or so when the turf is done.
  18. If the naming rights contract said that the Alerus Center logo had to be at midfiled, that's fine. Many peolpe would like to see the interlocking ND logo at midfield. My point is you can do both while still unholding the contract with the Alerus Center. Miving the Alerus Center logos towards the sidelines allowing plenty of room for the ND logo is deffinitely something that the Alerus Center could have done. The fact that they didn't do this just seems kind of dumb since other schools can make it work.
  19. North Dakota State repeating as National Champions.....that's probably not going to happen.
  20. Neither. Obviously there is a way to balance between corporate naming rights and recognizing the team that primarily uses it. NDSU is a great example...and now South Dakota. I am curious to see if there is any FCS or FBS teams that have a logo at midfield that is not the teams or schools logo. If anyone can think of any, I would like to know.
  21. I am one that is glad that we got new turf that is top of the line. The logos really don't bother me. UND has never played a home game on a filed with a UND logo at midfield, so nothing is different. The Alerus contributed to the turf and have the rights to put their logo wherever they want as per the deal they signed. That's fine. They payed for the right to do that. But you can still have the ALerus Center logos at midfield as well as a UND logo. They were able to put fairly large Gate City Bank logos at the Fargodome and still have plenty of roon for an NDSU logo in the middle. The same thing could have been done at the Alerus. So now instead of people having a favorable view of the ALerus Center that the pitched in to get new turf, not puting a ND logo at midfield gives them negative reaction from many people. For a building that stuggles to be in the black year in and year out, you really don't want to tick of the people that support your biggest money maker tenant. That being said, It still is interesting that the logos aren't part of the turf installation like I pointed out before. This leaves the possiblility that they are painting the logos on. which leaves the possibility of redisigning the loom of the field in regards to logos.
  22. So who does everyone think is going to be the #1 Goalie going into the season? Gothberg seems to be the favorite, but Saunders may compete for the #1 spot. Should be a good battle. I don't see Maris beating wither of those guys out. I would bet they split games for the first 3 months till one of the two breaks out and proves they are the guy. Should be a great battle!
  23. OK, the original point of my post of the picture may have been lost. My point was the field is not being assembled the same way it was done in the Fargodome with the logos being installed first. Which leads me to believe they are being painted on. I am wondering why they decided to do this. My theory was they were redesigning the logos on the turf. Either making them smaller, moving them, or whatever. By painting them on that leaves the option open to paint on an ND logo or any other logo at a later date.
  24. Because you have the nameing rights to a field, court, building, whatever doe not mean that you DO NOT have to use the schools logo on the field, court, etc. Just look at Gate City Bank in Fargo. Grandted they have 2very large Gate City Bank logos on the new turf bu they also thought it was important to have the Bison logo on the turf as well. Why the Alerus Center did't feel that it was inportant to add the ND logo at midfield is beyond me. they owe a lot to UND and its football program. Without it, they would be deep in the red every year.
  25. The voters were obviously confused and thought they were voting for Red Lobster
