  1. Not if we are ranked top 8 and above them. Anything is yet possible.
  2. Without question. I think many knew that after last season ... perhaps sooner.
  3. I figured at least kick the field goal. But that was just my thought at the time.
  4. November 4, 2017
  5. Very true. The Alerus Center staff and marketing people at UND need to take a page from Bubba's playbook: take it day by day and keep on improving!
  6. Absolutely. I love that design.
  7. If the Alerus crowd is doing its thing and getting noisy, then I'm confident UND can definitely beat both Weber State and Northern Arizona. It's the two road games (Idaho State, Northern Colorado) that are honestly more concerning, but UND should do fine if they don't make a bunch of mistakes. One game at a time and good things are ahead. Yes, Idaho State has a decent passing attack, but that's no excuse because as a TEAM they are absolutely horrible. If the UND defense struggles some it shouldn't matter because UND's offense should honestly put up 50 points. No reason UND shouldn't win big vs Idaho State.
  8. Yeah, I see it completely differently than you, as does Bubba apparently. If someone like Connor O'Brien gets hurt on that play, which easily could've happened because of a difference in effort, is it worth it? Absolutely not. There's certain unwritten rules of gamesmanship that some dont get -- #70 is one of those clueless ones.
  9. Absolutely bush league out of SUU. Hard to condemn the entire SUU program for that one player's actions, but the way the entire SUU offense was called at the end there makes it easier. SUU's head coach should receive a nice phone call or letter regarding how inappropriate (aka fucking stupid) his team's actions were at the end. I hope the SUU program and fans (all 12 of them) enjoy the loss -- they deserve it. It could've been by more if UND wanted it to be. Although it is tempting to want UND to do more scoring, they need to stay healthy and pull the starters in games that get out of hand. Reyes' injury occured when playing while the Sac St. game was out of hand.
  10. NDSU and the Fargodome does it every down that their defense is on the field. Remember how it messed up UND's offense last year? Alerus Center and UND could easily do that to other opponents, as well.
  11. If they dont, the polls are trash. Then again, we already knew that about the polls.
  12. I agree. I can see how the volume could be an issue for some, but the overall idea was novel and fun. I would keep it going! Anything to build tradition and enjoyment for the players and fans!
  13. I agree. My only major question of this team is the health. If Reyes and Stanley return soon, and the other major players like Studsrud remain healthy, then UND will be looking awful tough. Keep up the good work Bubba and squad!
  14. Completely agree with your 7th point. UND's defense would be that much better if the crowd contributed on every defensive down.
  15. That's what is a bit frustrating. Reyes got banged up in a game where he was playing in the 4th quarter with a 30+ point lead. Although injuries are never wanted, especially to a guy as talented and important as Reyes, I sure would've liked to see a different circumstance under which he got hurt. I hope he can go or at least be available if they need him, but then let the other safeties get the majority of the snaps if everything is going our way. Lastly, the Sacramento State game was on the road, also. Why can't UND blow Idaho State out of the water? Did you see what Portland State did to them without even completing a pass? That sure seems to play into our wheelhouse.
  16. We're over-analyzing this thing. UND will draw more than 10,000, but perhaps not by much. Good weather, homecoming, and the team's success will do the trick despite harvest yet going on. Expect good number of walk-ups.
  17. I was incredibly impressed with him during the UND-USD game. Yes he made some bad decisions in the pass game, but man is he tough. He did make some nice throws though and the USD coaches could've helped him out a bit more towards the end, too.
  18. Yeah, under 6 foot wouldn't be ideal. I think UND needs to start recruiting bigger QBs, eventually. Imagine a Streveler type of QB under center for UND (similar size and athleticism but better decision-making, of course).
  19. Hopefully, by that time, the change won't affect UND as they'll be a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference. Whether we like to readily admit it or not, UND should be playing NDSU, South Dakota, and South Dakota State every season -- it needs to happen sooner rather than later.
  20. UND 24 SUU 20
  21. No, top 8 teams (out of field of 24) are guaranteed a second-round home playoff game. Remaining 16 teams yield 8 first-round games. Home team for those are based on bids and the matchups are based on regionalization. Apply those rules to last year's bracket: http://www.ncaa.com/interactive-bracket/football/fcs It's interesting to look at the first round games and see who outbid who. SUU won the Big Sky Conference last season but didn't get a top 8 seed (that went to Portland State, who UND defeated); SUU was outbid by Sam Houston State and the matchup was played there.
  22. 9,600 for a homecoming game featuring UND ranked and unbeaten in conference? I'd bet a fair amount against that prediction. Alerus Center will have at least 10,000, maybe 11,000.
  23. I would like to think UND could outbid SDSU, but hard to say. Largely depends on anticipated attendance; SDSU having an outdoor venue could negatively impact attendance.
  24. At home, UND should be able to score plenty against their porous defense and get plenty of defensive pressure on NAU's QB. No reason to be scared of that game at this point.
  25. I agree. It's very difficult to watch.
