  1. TD Montana and that's why we need touchdowns field goals look good, but they lose games
  2. Hate to be pessimistic, but settling for 3 points there will probably lose us the game. Same situation as last three weeks ...
  3. Thunder and lightning Olivera and Santiago keep it going
  4. it's absolutely unacceptable
  5. Need a new punt returner. I've lost my faith/trust in Seibel to make the right decision and secure it back there.
  6. !@#$ big sky refs thats fucking bull$%!#
  7. I swear, everytime I hear or see William James it's because he's getting beat for a TD pass.......
  8. Wow this is fun to watch on national TV!! 3 and out on defense and 80 yd TD run by Santiago on first offensive play! Amazing start! Gotta finish though! Go UND!
  9. Depth development is so key for UND football moving forward, and fortunately, Bubba recognizes that. Going off of 2015's recruiting class, Bubba is going to really develop the walk-on program with local emphasis, which will build up depth. With better depth, for example, UND would be 6-1 this season. In a year or two, UND will be competing for an outright Big Sky Conference championship.
  10. Musical chairs doesn't work. Backup QB is tough to play. Give Bartels time to settle in with first team reps. He'll be better today I'm sure.
  11. I have major concerns with Rudolph and the offense. I think Coach Schmidt does a tremendous job with the defense considering the depth issues yet present from Mussman's regime, but Rudolph leaves much more to be desired.
  12. There is a chance of making the playoffs if they lose one game; that is, they go 3-1 to finish the season. That would put them at 7-4 (5-3) with an FBS win and potentially a few wins against ranked teams (Portland State and possibly @Montana, vs Montana State, and @ Cal Poly). Obviously, though, winning out would be the best case scenario: UND DEFINITELY makes the playoffs at 8-3 (6-2).
  13. Yes, I think UND is more than capable of winning this game. Now, that doesn't mean they will. Montana is playing a first-time starting QB and UND could easily be 6-1 right now. The return of Cole Reyes will be huge for the secondary. Also, don't discount Bartels getting his second start; he will have had a chance to clean up the mistakes that cost UND the game last weekend in Ogden, Utah. Lastly, UND has been able to run the football quite well in conference play, it just hasn't been a full-game effort. If UND can make their rushing attack as good in the fourth quarter as it has been in the first three quarters, UND will certainly have a chance to win this game. It is a must-win also; don't discount that aspect.
  14. Safety situation needs to improve. Not enough quality depth there. Hopefully next year's class produces a couple good players at safety.
  15. UND 28 Montana 24 Reyes comes back. Griz are playing a true freshman QB (remember when UND did that last season?). UND running game continues to produce. UND finds a way to not turn it over. Lastly, offense hangs on to the ball and finishes out the game, like vs UC Davis and @ Portland State. I will say, turnovers will kill UND's chances completely. UND needs to win the turnover battle considering the defense is facing a true freshman QB.
  16. Fair question, and nice to go through for next season if not for anything else. QB Brad Heidlebaugh OLB Jade Lawrence RB Austin Gordon DB Vashon Tucker FB Josh Leonhard ILB Donnell Rodgers OLB Keelan Poole LB Andre Steiger DL Carter Wilson DE/OLB Mason Bennett LB Brock Shaide DL Logan Alm OL Patric Rooney OL Bryce Blair OL Justus Merz WR Carter Blackwell WR Tim Dulin P Riley Thompson TE Luke Keller FB Tony Roland DE Kemuel Denny DE Carl Engwall
  17. I think the word "fantastic" should be reserved to describe truthfully positive, MVP-type performances. Mollberg did some nice things against Montana and PSU, but if he actually had been "fantastic", he would have put up enough points for UND to beat Montana and not be losing against PSU the entire time he was playing (Bartels actually got UND the lead later in the game and won the game against PSU last season).
  18. Just a bad play; he anticipated the wrong route, although maybe the WR ran the wrong route. Anyone think that there might be a connection between the poor QB play and their coach/offensive coordinator (hint: same person)? Studsrud was doing nice things in the running game, but he also was struggling to progress in the passing game. I understand its easy to put blame on solely the coaches, but they play a part in this. Of course, the talent (or lack thereof) at receiver and injury to the starting QB are also to blame.......
  19. Let's trust the coaches, shall we? They see the players every day in practice. Everyone wanted Bartels to get a shot before Studsrud's injury, and now people want Mollberg. It just never ends. Soon people will be calling for students off the street to play QB. Let's just relax and allow the coaches to do their job. I think the coaches need to get on the players and get them to work harder. Also, the offensive coaches need to look themselves in the mirror and ask what they can change up to allow for better offensive efficiency in the 4th quarter. The wins are right there for them, yet they aren't closing it out. They (including Bartels) need to just get to work and get this thing going in the right direction. As for future seasons, Bubba needs to continue bringing in better talent; the depth and overall talent for UND football is still lacking big-time.
  20. I don't give a sh*t what the probabilities of going 4-0 over the next 4 games are; bottom line is UND needs to go to work and do it. One more loss and they are as good as done in terms of the playoff/conference race. With that said, it isn't impossible for this team to put together a 4 game winning streak (2 of the 4 at home). However, it is unlikely. I will still will be hoping/supporting the team for 4-0.
  21. Yes, that was a nice call, but if UND's offense scores 4 touchdowns rather than bogging down in the red zone and settling for 4 field goals vs. PSU, that last play-call wouldn't have been needed. Point is, UND's inefficiency in terms of red zone offense and unforced turnovers is average to poor right now.
  22. UND is not playing the level of sound football that is necessary to win when playing a conservative, defensive style of football. UND needs to win the turnover battle to be successful; so far, UND's defense can't force turnovers and UND's offense gives the ball away at the worst times. Last week, against Idaho State, UND gave the ball away three times in the first quarter. In the fourth quarter, the defense desperately needed a stop or turnover, which they couldn't produce. Now, in a game which UND led 24-10 in the fourth quarter, UND plays sloppy at the end and turns the ball over a couple times. Not to mention, UND missed a critical field goal earlier in the game and didn't force any turnovers. Unacceptable considering the style of aggressive defense and ball-control rushing offense that Bubba wants to instill. Its time to preach and preach and preach to protect the ball and force turnovers. If that doesn't work, then its time to change schemes and/or players on the field. If that doesn't work, then its time to change the coaches who install the schemes and order the depth chart. Right now, I think the offensive schemes are questionable. Also, the players do need to be better, but injuries happen and recruiting won't affect THIS TEAM (2015 UND football). Ultimately, the lack of turnovers forced by the UND defense and the unforced turnovers by the UND offense have been the difference the last two weeks - THAT NEEDS TO IMPROVE OR CHANGES NEED TO BE MADE!
  23. I'm not too sure on this. To me, the offensive staff, particularly Rudolph, raises several concerns.
