Exaggerate much? 2016 was the last successful season. 2017 and 2018 were not. 9-13 record shouldn’t lead to excitement nor be considered success. It doesn’t take much to satisfy your low expectations, apparently. I guess I’ll follow your hyperbole and say you’re the biggest delusionist I have ever seen.
-
I wouldn’t describe the situation as success, especially as “smashing success,” but otherwise I agree there is good potential.
-
See my post above. Sensitive much? UND missed on top targets - fact. UND is 9-13 over the past 2 seasons - fact. Deal with reality better. I hope UND is much better next season.
-
UND missed and couldn’t close on their initial choices for QB. That is a fact and is reality. Dont be bitter about it towards me. I agree that QB recruiting will be far better if Freund has a good first year running the offense. His offense will be very important for UND football in ‘19, because we will get what we have got in terms of defense with Bubba and Schmidt. Happy for the Michigan kid at QB. Good high school accolades. Best of luck in Freund’s offense.

The QB recruiting situation this cycle has turned into a disaster. Not good first go of it in recruiting for Freund.

Actually, let me clarify: NDSU = deceitful arrogant pricks ... and cheaters Beyond obvious [former] NDSU coaches were involved and several NDSU players were on said illegal preworkout mix. Therefore, Matt Larsen is a liar. There is fair likelihood of lawsuit; not imminent, however.

NDSU = cheaters

UND (9-13, 3-6) @ Omaha (12-9, 6-2) 2/3 12 PM

1) hire young coach with great potential but also affordable for UND 2) *far more controversial* play more games in the Ralph Engelstad Arena -
And USD and NDSU have had some great seasons as such. Sure they aren’t top programs currently, but still better than UND. I understand we all want consistenty, but if we want “great seasons” at this level, we need coaches that will eventually be hired away by bigger programs. Having coaches like Bubba and Jones is great for familiarity, but ultimately they will be medicore because otherwise bigger schools come looking. I vote for young coaches with great potential that also fit UND’s affordability as far as hiring football and basketball coaches. Salary is a limiting factor for UND’s non-hockey sports.
-
Think what you want, young Aggie. Your bias and ignorance is what is truly evident here. NDSU got caught doing some shady stuff. It is what it is. Really typical of that program and not unexpected.
-
Competent offensive coaching. Let’s see it, finally. ‘14-‘18 were tough.
-
It can only come from players or students? Your narrow-mindedness is actually what’s laughable.
-
It wasn’t being spread throughout the locker room and his mother wasn’t a UND alumnus mad at her own alma mater.
-
NDSU got caught as far as I’m concerned. Further investigation and sanctions time, NCAA ...

I wouldn’t put much emphasis on the freshmen additions, but rather that the defense was solid last season and has another year to improve. They held down Washington in Seattle for 3 quarters before they couldn’t uphold the UND offensive ineptitude any longer. I would say possibility of UND scoring more points with Freund’s offense could do more for the defense than anything else. You can let the dogs loose a lot more with a lead.

Bunch of cheaters. Probably been going on for awhile. Wow. Good ‘ol illegal substance U in Fargo ...
-
It’s going to be in November? And who is the opponent? A lot of stretches on your end ...
-
Until people actually show up hell with it, schedule it. UND needs to win consistently before the Alerus fills up consistently.
-
UND needs to take this offer ASAP. Absolutely stupid to not do it. C’mon Kennedy, Chaves, and Bubba ...

This appears to be the new QB target for Freund and UND. There’s not much in the way as far as competition goes (only a Wyoming PWO), so my guess is UND signs this young man. Has the size and arm to be good, and intangibles are always the unknown that can lead to greatness. Potential is the name of the game at this stage. Been said before, but UND’s 2019 season rides on Freund’s ability to dramatically boost the offense, specifically the QB position. I’m optimistic. Another speck of hope: UND lost 2 QBs to Texas State and NDSU, but Freund doesn’t have his offense on film yet. Next year this time UND’s pull factor could be way different (i.e., in a good way).

Getting both the DL and DB from California is very good. The QB position is incredibly [most] important, however, so until that spot is signed, the class is a B - grade at best. Otherwise, many spots have been addressed.
-
It’s the most important. Over the past 10 seasons, which position has won the most Heisman Trophies and Walter Payton awards? Just one way to look at it ... A playmaker at quarterback means lots of wins.
-
Yes, Danny realizes this. Rudolph and Knauf did not.
-
*QB is most important

Barn? Not be competitive in MVFC? Job handed to him? I don’t know which program you’re referencing but it’s not THE University of North Dakota. Get your cow college !@#$ out of here.
