I don't think anyone honestly believed that UND would use the Maplesoft logo but it was the idea of it that catches people's attention.

If the students get to vote on it I'm sure this will be the outcome of the new logo....

As generic as the Fighting Hawks nickname is...there is only 1 other sports team to have the Fighting Hawks as their nickname. Blackville-Hilda High School in Blackville, SC.

So when this is all said and done....when does the transition to the new nickname (logo) actually begin to take place? Has this been stated anywhere?

The Times They Are a Changin'.....I may be one of the biggest Fighting Sioux Nickname supporters but even I know that we all need to move on and support a new nickname because there is no chance of going back. We might as well accept the change and embrace the new nickname(Hopefully the Fighting Hawks). If you don't believe UND and their fans need a nickname and mascot to market you are high out of your mind.

What are the chances of UND regaining a relationship with the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in the next 5-10 years to a point where there is a chance of them giving UND the okay to use the Fighting Sioux nickname again?

Even the University of Phoenix has a mascot....just North Dakota isn't even an option and this committee should be thrown out along with Pride, Spirit, Sundogs, sh*t....the whole list!

Or even better than Boots! Swiper! We will lead the Big Sky in steals in Basketball and forced fumbles in Football!
