  1. Did I miss us getting a warning? Because why did we get penalized 15 yards when later youngstown got a flag and a warning for sideline? Did we bump into the official?
  2. The Shire restaurant in River Cinema movie theater is open. Lots fun stuff on walls and plenty tvs. More of a bar, but kids are allowed. Food is very good. Burgers and grilled cheese options. Gravy comes with waffle fries.

    UND @ ISU

I'm getting Pat Sweeney vibes from their play by play guy.
  4. part that really ticks me off is that I'm sure they'll be preempting plenty of big time cfb coverage for that crap.
  5. Your amateurs aren't the draw you think they are. Miracle on Ice was just that...a miracle they beat pros from Russia. NBC butchered being able to watch the pros play basketball, by putting online live and only having replays. Most people don't watch replays when they know the result. Keep in mind that if hockey isn't pros it's the World Junior Tourney. Sure we like it, but have you seen those ratings??? Maybe you need to check all the sports ratings from the past year and a half. It isn't pretty and tv in general has gone way down the last 5 years.
  6. Oh for #$*@ sake. Is it LA in 28? Then I bet baseball and softball back as I think each host site gets to add a sport or two. Hopefully they saw how competitive it has become. I doubt it's one of the more popular sports in the world though. It's more regional North and Central America and Asia. I also could see flag football instead of tackling, but again I think it's far too localized.
  7. China lost in womens boxing so USA takes the gold medal count.
  8. +To her and her high school watching. That seems so long ago. Yes some great swimming come from behinds. +Rugby sevens. Lots of fun to watch.
  9. Well womens basketball and volleyball got the job done. And a random cycling gold.
  10. 1. nope. Ratings=$$$. The pros make it way to much fun to watch and they are the best in the world. Love that the hockey players want to compete. 2. Gonna get there soon or certainly won't be in such a centralized one city set up.
  11. ---Rhythmic. Ok just saw this "sport." Not even going to call this gymnastics. It's ballet. WTH???
  12. -cycling in a circle by themselves +++cycling with 30 people on the track at once. Like roller derby
  13. Oof seems neverending. Also what happened to age lower limit stuff??? No way that Chinese gymnast was 16. Though skateboarding had 13 year olds winning. Here's a few breakdowns on China: Badminton 2 gold, 4 silver (really that many ways to play badminton???) Diving 6 gold, 4 silver Gymnastics 3, 3, 2 bronze Shooting 4, 1, 6 (shouldn't we win all of these???) (Again why so many!?!) Swimming 3, 2, 1 Table Tennis 4 g, 3 s (Again is it a different sized table each time?!?) Trampoline 1 g, 2 s Weightlifting 7!!! gold, 1 silver Three sports of pure dominance.
  14. Absolutely. Cough...walking...cough...really? And that's been around longer than I thought. I'm a winter games kind of guy, but I've been laid up and have can't do anything other than watch tv so most I've ever watched. My takeaways: -way too many events for most sports -some go way too long (looking at you beach volleyball which took entire olympics) -anything that requires a judge doing the scoring I am skeptical. Tho sounds like some reffing in wrestling suspect. -karate just poses and gets judged??? (wish I knew difference on all those different fighting styles but don't care enough to look up) -ROC. Don't understand why essentially no punishment for doping. -NBC forcing olympics to be at this stupid hot humid time (I've been to Tokyo at this time. Awful) -NBC coverage. Sure would be nice to watch live sports. +3x3 basketball (time for 3x3 hockey) +Newer sports are fun/interesting like climbing and skateboarding but why no half pipe skateboarding? +Mixed mens and womens teams. Track and swimming had relays. Ping pong doubles. It was fun. More of this stuff. +US in team events. All but mens vb and water polo and womens soccer played for gold. +Suni Lee stepping up for all around +Gable Stevenson last second wrestling victory +Baseball and softball back. +other womens countries have caught up to US in sports like soccer and softball Probably missing stuff. Surprised we didn't do better at skateboarding, but until marijuana legal that'll be the case. Also if we played it I can see us dominating at handball, which is decent to watch. Other sports that should be added? Sounds like some esports may be.
  15. Looks like it will be a fun race to see who claims most golds. Both relays finally realized they could succeed. Womens water polo continued dominance. Baseball lost and apparently something with horses by super slim margin. So down 2 golds going to last day. I guess China has rythmics (???) and a boxing chance. We have two boxing chances and womens basketball and volleyball. Both also have some cycling and then there is mens marathon, but can't imagine either in that.
  16. Forgot about women's golf that US just won. And we won mens basketball, so maybe there is a chance to catch China for gold.
  17. I think maybe another wrestler as well. But I doubt we catch them in golds. Track normally helps us in comparison to China, but not as much this year. China wins so many on small racquet sports, all the diving disciplines, and other events we don't truly pay attention to or participate in. Granted swimming is huge for us. And we are way better at team events.
  18. FBS teams proved this fall that you can play great games with no prep and on few days notice. See BYU at Coastal Carolina. It was supposed to be BYU bye week and actually they had already been off over a week. I think there a few other games that happened on short notice.
  19. Literally what Gentry did. I was very curious about them and found old article that said they are a sports leadership school and I thought it said they practice during the school day. Only like 90 kids in the school. And I heard most are from out of state.
  20. I believe this is Xcel rules, but yes they need to show up dressed and leave 15 minutes after. No shower. So I'm sure that was a fun bus ride home for EGF. Also many kids in all sorts sports at many of the schools went to distance learning to avoid being quarantined from schools being fully all in.
  21. I think Ausmus had the first goal. And he scored in the semifinals as well.
  22. As mentioned we for some reason are the late game and it's not even on tv. But the most egregious thing is the winner of the Fargo night game has only 21 hours from puck drop to Saturday puck drop. Much less than any other region late game.
  23. Would love for the conference to make them ineligible for the playoffs next season. I'm sure the conference can't and never would anyways, but damn what a classless deal by ISU. I'm assuming this is not a covid quarantine deal.
