if and when the big sky/wac split happens i would hope the new big sky is more "like minded" and tries to shed some of the excessive extra non-core sports that each schools would have...each school plays a core 15 sports and each school gets two mens/womens free bees or add on...obviously at und it would be mens/womens hockey and msu would mens/womens skiing and so forth...it would strengthen the new conference and like sica said above do them exceptionally well at the highest level. sac state does 21 sports...you would think if they move up with und, um, msu, idaho and so forth you would think they could drop rowing, baseball, and or soccer

not saying closing any schools but we talking about millions and millions of dollars that need to be cut/saved...duplicate services at all these schools are a waste....if you wanna farm go to ndac, you wanna be a teacher go to mayville or dickison, forestry and fire fighting go to beautineu, law enforcement go to lake region and so forth...for all else go to UND....

ndsu used to be the ndac...you went there to learn farming.

as funny as it sounds nmsu could be a travel partner for und in the new big sky..in that each school doesn't have one...they each would be an outlier as much as siouxvolley says ndsu will come with us when the split happens i just don't see it happening especially with baseball being dropped... und/nmsu um/msu iu/ewu poly/davis sac/portland denver/omaha (oly) after shedding some dead weight makes the big sky look more appealing than the slummit so omaha and denver come over (nchc.connections help..can we please get a 2pm womens bball game/5 pm mens ball game/ and a 8 mens hockey game against omaha or denver on saturday for good ole times sake???)
