The Tiger head haunts my dreams...it's soul-less black eyes and confused expression...is it drunk or simply retarded?

If I were really to assemble my full all-decade team, including 4 full forward lines and 3 scratched forwards and 2 scratched D it would look as follows: Scoring 1: Parise with Bochenski and Bayda Scoring 2: Toews with Oshie and Duncan Energy: McMahon with Porter and Kaip Scoring 3: Vandevelde with Stafford and Zajac Scratched but on the team: Frattin, Malone, Trupp D1: Greene and Schneider D2: Jones and Hale D3: Smaby and Fuhrer Scratched but on the team: Genoway and Chorney G1: JPL G2: Parise G3: Eids This would be an unbelievable team...It is hard to add this year's stars to the team, so I have the Pony Express on the team but scratched. Spirko and Brady Murray are honorable mention...didn't see them long enough, but they were good while here.
-
I'd like to see: Malone with Frattin and Trupp Knight with Gregoire and Cichy Lammy with Davidson and Hexy Nelson with Rodwell and Kristo Chay and Mac Marto and Blood Forbert/Simpson and Lapoint

Huge series here...We've split with the top teams in the league (UMD, DU, UNO) and our most hated rival (MN)(which is fine) we need to continue to beat up the teams we should beat up (SCSU, WI, MSU-M, AA, Tech). CC is also one of those that we need to separate ourselves from. I'm assuming that Jayden Schwartz is still out from his injury at the WJC? If so, this helps us, although I hate to see a young man of that caliber talent on the shelf. Olympic ice sheet and altitude means the boys better have their legs. Hak needs to really leverage our depth to keep the boys fresh- those things considered. It will be interesting to see who gets the nod and who rides pine. Again, we win with Davidson in the lineup. I thought Cichy looked good...I've said before I'd like to see him get a shot on the Knight line with Corban and Gregs...either him or Rodwell

For the record, income does not equal wealth. The biggest problem (government included) is people repeatedly spending beyond their means. It is the driver of the housing market, the credit card debt issue, the uninsured issue, student loan debt issue... If you can't afford it, don't buy it. I understand that people make mistakes, but I for one, am tired of living within my means so that I can pay for others to live outside of theirs. Don't have health insurance? You better gd not have a new car, boat, gun, or tv in that house you can't afford! (not targeted at anyone on this board- just a rant) Also for the record, I am a resident of Minnesota, so I have no vested interest in NoDak not paying into the feds to bail out bankrupt states.
-
I have a bit of a beef with significant federal dollars going to provide Fargo with flood protection...isn't NoDak one of the few states with a surplus? Philosophically what bothers me is that if the feds are expected to pay for something like this, what's to stop them from expecting NoDak to help bail out California? The two way street is dangerous. Regarding healthcare, the bill really became insurance company legislation specifically targeted at for-profit payors. Removing single payor from the bill really changes the whole argument against the legislation away from death panels and access issues. It now is more of a business freedom issue regarding the mandates.

Funny you say that...I had written a diatribe on the housing market, as a correlary to my previous post, but i deleted it before i posted it...

We let too many people into college who are not qualified or prepared. To quote the great Judge Smails "the world needs ditch diggers too." In all seriousness, too many treat college as a walk about or a way to dodge life for a few years...the entire economy is in shambles because we coddle people and tell them that they can have everything, but we don't tell them how much work it is or how smart or talented you have to be.
-
So we split with a decently ranked Omaha team and Duluth beats up Michigan Tech, and they leapfrog us in the PWR due to the RPI needing to be adjusted...weak...
-
He had post secondary credits from when he was in juniors, and he's taken a few summer classes when he's been in GF anyway...I think it is a good achievement, but I don't think it has affected his play...I don't think he's taking 7 classes a semester or anything
-
Just remember that the plaque for the alternates is in the ladies room, and that second place is still the first loser.

Benching Nelson is an odd play to me...I didn't notice anything pathetic out of him. I am nervous about the Gleason-Lapoint pairing...Gleason will be rusty for sure... I just don't get the Marto at forward decision, and it appears that it will be that way here on out...The only thing I can think of with that is that it allows us to play 7 dmen...Jake can rotate back in there on the pk or if someone needs a breather... A third line forward will be lucky to log 12 minutes of ice in a game assuming no special teams...a regular dman will log 18-22 minutes. This way Jake can log 12 minutes up front and 6 minutes in the back (as needed), and keep us fresh??? I guess so. Win the foot races, win the one on one battles, passes on the tape, get to open ice before you receive a pass, heads up, feet down...if we come out flying we are championship material, if we come out flat, this team lacks the character to win number 8...I'm just calling it now...not because this is a must win game or anything, but a champion won't take kindly to being embarrassed on home ice.

This game is making our weaknesses really stand out. Our weaknesses are consistent: Defensive zone play. Simpson, Lapoint, Forbert all look slow, with poor footwork, lazy feet with stupid sticks. Really frustrating to watch this poor of a defensive performance tonight.
-
Our two highest drafted forwards skate on our third line...
-
Thank you, I guess great minds do think alike! Go Pack!

1. I have been a vocal critic of Lapoint in the past, but he is definitely NOT our weakest defenseman going into this weekend. No way that I even consider sitting him. 2. Forbert and Simpson need reps to get better, but they both got man handled last weekend. Second half of a potential championship season means no excuses...I don't care if it is their first rodeo. Rotate those two for the rest of the year until one steps up. 2.B. Developing Forbert and Simpson is very important for the program. We need to continue being the best college hockey program for NHL development if we want to continue getting the top end talent. The program is superordinate to all. 3. Lammy. Wow, I would not ever, ever consider benching Lammy. Lammy is a team guy and an energy guy. You need that type of player to keep things loose and keep guys motivated. Lammy is a pure role player, and he plays his role perfectly. He isn't out there to make sick plays or score a bunch of goals. He's not even out there to hit. He is out there as a changeup and a grinder who doesn't quit on anything. To quote Hak: he practices and plays like he hasn't made the team yet. Enough said. 4. Blaiser. Will get a warm welcome. He lived in the community for 30 years and brought us our last titles. I will always revere him. 5. Trupper. Agree that he is just awesome and fun to watch. If he were 6-2 205 he'd be in the NHL. 6. Pony Express. I agree that our top line is as physical and skilled as the most physical lines and the most skilled lines in the country. No pun intended here, but we need to ride them the rest of the year. 7. Health. Gregoire back is huge. He is a big part of our special teams, and is our best two-way forward. He is such a smart hockey player and he has good hands. Paired with Knight, the line becomes a killer for opponents d corps to manage. Especially if you are putting your best defensive and most physical D out against the Malone line. 8. Hexy. Also a team guy. I am not exactly sure where he fits though. I actually like him on the energy line as a scoring threat rather than on a scoring line as the agitator, but Hak knows best. I'd like him with Lammy and Davidson as the energy line. 9. Cichy. Either Michael is hurt or has somehow displeased the coach in practice. He was getting special teams time earlier in the year. I'd consider trying to play him with Knight and Gregoire just to see what would happen. 10. Kristo-Nelson-Rodwell. I want to see this scoring line 3. Young, skill, and speed with Rodwell's physicality. I like this combo. 11. Marto-back to D with his (life) partner Lapoint. Collectively they are the experienced d pairing we need.
-
I think you misread the statement. RedWing is not saying it will be better for Eids.
-
Rodwell
-
Were close to the same page, with Kristo, Rodwell and Rowney just being juggled...same 12 forwards in...I'd also play the 6 d you have and pair them identically to what you've shown
-
He must've gotten some good news from the M.D.s then...that would be great!! Gregoire and Knight together are so effective together...I've wondered about putting Rodwell with them in the Malone role Not that I don't love Hexy, but Rodwell's size and speed are pretty top end. What if we rolled: Malone with Frattin and Trupp Knight with Rodwell and Gregoire Lammy with Davidson and Rowney Nelson with Hexy and Kristo That is some serious depth and scoring potential...Nelson with Hexy and Kristo is more talented that most team's first lines...
-
I didn't blame the officiating in any of my posts, and I know you have to play the games...you don't win games based on program prestige and player draft ranking. I was just really, really disappointed in the style of game that team played for two periods last night. I'll give the third period props as that was pretty up and down hockey. clutch, grab, chip it, slash, chip it...that is not good hockey, that is just ugly. Then add in the cheap shots, and it gets ridiculous. Needless to say, I will not be shedding any tears for Bob...ever
-
I'm guessing that Cichy doesn't work on that "energy line" and that is why he was out. I'd rather see him up with Knight and Kristo and move Jake back to D... I'm really hoping that Gregoire makes it back as a shot in the arm for the playoff run
-
I have to disagree with your kudos. Bob was clutching and grabbing and holding sticks and playing really ugly, dirty hockey. The late hits on Blood and Knight were blatent. They are a junk program in a junk league. We did them a favor by agreeing to play them, we embarrass them one night, and the next night they turn into something that looks like Junior C hockey. I'll be happy to never see them again, and I wouldn't care if their program folded.

I agree that the Gleason at forward thing has to end. He is not an offensive threat nor is he a dominant physical forechecker. He tries to be a physical forward, but it just doesn't work.
