  1. I am not a fan of the club level. I prefer higher seats in the lower bowl.
  2. A little chemistry on that second line...great stuff! If we can roll our top 2 lines to the tune of 3 goals per night, we should win a lot of hockey games... When we get Parks back, he can give us a third scoring line...
  3. sometimes you are USHL material, but the club that owns your rights is stacked with 19 year olds...the truth will come out in terms of talent, ability, and development when the Force issue their restricted list in the spring/summer
  4. and i really thought that O'Donnell would be a machine this year and skating on the top line...
  5. everyone up there is related
  6. I like those guys together too- I think that Parks could be the key player that could get Rowney going too...you need to have 3 scoring lines and an energy line...one would think that O'Donnell would be more of that third line scoring threat and Gaarder would move to the energy line with the General and Rodwell, but right now Gaarder is playing better than Brendan.
  7. O'Donnell and Rowney definitely need to pick it up. They have the talent- just do it!
  8. So does every hockey fan in Chicago these days...
  9. Agree for the most part, however, the national championship ends up being about a 4 game tournament. Not only do you need to be playing your best hockey from a team and execution stand point, but also you need to be healthy and you need to be positioned well to maximize your chances: a rink close to home if possible and last line change. Both of which you earn over 40 or so games between October and March. You also need the psychology of a winner I.e. killer instinct and urgency for 60 minutes. Lastly you need a little puck luck.
  10. I still think player rep goes a long way. Even in this league. Half of the Osh's big hits would be penalties if delivered by Mac, but the fact that TJ was a skill guy as well made the ref swallow the whistle.
  11. Agree on "Caligula" I like his game- especially for a rookie
  12. Sept 3, 2007 It took a couple of seasons but Matt Greene finally got a shot at Oilers prospect Geoff Paukovich and made the most of it. Here's the deal, back in 2004-05 in the WCHA Final Five, Paukovich playing for the Denver Pioneers crushed Greene's teammate Robbie Bina of North Dakota with an ugly hit that brokeBina's neck. (Bina has since returned to play). Greene, the Fighting Sioux's captain, exchanged words with Paukovich telling him their would be a day of reckoning at a later date. (Note:this would be the politically correct translation of what was said!). As you all know you can't fight in College hockey but you can in a conditioning camp. Paukovich now an Oilers prospect showed up at Clare Drake Arena the other day for the U. of A. Conditioning Camp, and Greene of course is an Oilersregular. Greene was late for a session, and the two were slated to be on the same team, when he saw Paukovich in a drill. Greene immediately skated over to Paukovich and told him the day of reckoning had arrived and proceeded to according to onlookers..make short work of Paukovich. The one-sided tilt lasted 15-20 seconds. The two shook hands after the fight.
  13. Matt Greene fought him in camp in the NHL...and to Pauk's credit, he stepped up like a man and took his licks
  14. Remember we still are waiting on Parks to get 100% too. I think we will see: Knight with Kristo and MacMillan Grimaldi with Caggiula and Parks Rowney with Gaarder and St Clair O'Donnell with Pattyn and Rodwell
  15. We are tied with several others for fewest losses in the league. Bucky just took 3 points from George at the man with the yellow hat's house. Time for a sweep.
  16. Agree with the 3 goal statement- it should win you most hockey games. Giving up 5 was the problem last night, not scoring 3. I am pretty unimpressed with the work of Berry thus far...really unimpressed.
  17. awfully early for the PWR. Clearly our losing record against the CCHA hurts. We wanted DU to beat Yale too. Win the Final Five and punch an auto ticket. That has to be the goal right now.
  18. Split CC, split DU, 3 points at Tech
  19. Soft, offensive dman, first round pick- oh boy- here we go again
  20. Parks plays Sioux hockey. Pattyn plays Sioux hockey. Grimaldi plays Sioux hockey. Kristo is the best player on the ice. Something is up with Knight, because he is not playing like he is capable of playing. MacMillan is very good offensively as well. I have no complaints about Caggiula or St Clair- they are freshmen. The biggest issue is we are getting pinned back in our own zone, we are not manning up well, and we are not transitioning well. Then we are dumping and chasing and failing to achieve the forecheck off dump and chase. 40 shots on goal is not SIoux hockey. Allowing that for a couple weeks straight is unacceptable. This is on the coaches right now.
  21. The frightening thing is that other teams are doing to us what we are famous for doing to other teams...bottling the puck up in the offensive zone through an aggressive forecheck, working it down low, creating turnovers, then capitalizing. Maybe we could think about changing up the dpairings? I could see pairing Forbert and Mac as the shutdown tandem, then Simpson and Mattson as the uptempo tandem vs other teams' less physical forward lines or paired with our more physical forward lines, then Gleason and Schmaltz as the relief pairing. For the first time in a long time, our defense (other than Mac) are really all offensive dmen.
  22. Being a fan doesn't mean being Pollyanna or cheer leading no matter what or having blind faith and ignoring bad play. Passing has not been even passable (pun intended) and we continue to lose foot races and one on one battles. I am not upset with the outcome, I'm upset with the poor play. A lot of standing around and hoping Rocco or Danny create something. D that fall back, because they aren't quick enough to save the offensive play.
  23. Not impressed with the play thus far this year...lots of "opportunities" to work on. First is skating hard, second is passing and receiving a pass.
  24. We need to get our passing together and figure out how to get through the neutral zone without dumping and chasing.
  25. My feed has been amazing. Much better than last night. HD from two camera angles. I'm in Mpls on an ipad.
