I hit up the facebook- it needs more likes- People who feel disappointed in the production need to speak up.
-
let's hope so, eh? I've loved this Fox College Sports deal. Living in Mpls, I watch probably 75% of UND hockey games now- all home games for sure, the occasional road game on TV, and I travel occasionally to SCSU or MSUM or UMD if not on
-
Hey, I always supported Sweeney- his hokiness was endearing They will care what we think if enough of us comment- social media impacts marketing departments fast As to big time- don't national Sioux hockey games do really well? I thought I heard that...I'm not talking Michigan vs Notre Dame football or Duke vs UNC hoops, but I thought we did pretty well
-
Look- this made the FSN production with Woog and The Rug look like the pinnacle of broadcasting Hammer and Kober are fired. The production team is fired. I was embarrassed for them to look so minor league
-
Facebook petition to bring Sweeney back has to happen ASAP- otherwise it will just "whither on the vine" The network needs to know how bad we all thought it was.
-
This is big time college sports, not high school- the broadcast was garbage and they produced a less than pedestrian performance. If I were running the channel as a business, they would all be fired and we'd do a re-boot. You can't honestly believe that they deserve "practice" and some time? This isn't a "do your best" kinda world...

He said Derek Forbert was a fourth round pick of New Jersey My wife even thought these guys sucked
-
What I saw was Gothberg look like Eddie Belfour- aggressive- which made him make some incredible saves, but also contribute to a goal the other way. he was excellent moving out to challenge shooters and cut angles. I saw Saunders look very quick laterally- less challenging to shooters, but used his athleticism instead to cover laterally. I think Saunders looked like the more mature goalie
-
It looked pretty bad...let's hope he's ok

Agree 100%- that broadcast was bush league all the way...bring back Sweeney and "Oh Baby" Howard It was actually embarrassing. The hoakiness of the old crew was endearing. This new crew acts like they are first class, and really they are just minor league. Note to UND and NCHC- DO NOT GO WITH THIS "B-SQUAD" TV CREW. I am just embarrassed and really disappointed in them

Super impressed with: Danny, Knight, Rocco, MacMillan, Rowney, Forbert, Saunders impressed with: St Clair, Parks (please be minor injury), Pattyn, Caggiula (was quietly where he needed to be all night)

My man Wilbur mentioned pressure box, diamond, and box...all solid pp set-ups. I always like the overload myself...I love the idea of forcing the defensive strong side winger down to help, which frees up the point to creep, which if they rotate to cover leaves that weakside winger with a nice bottom of the circle look at an out of position goalie... It will be fun to see what Bubba brings to the table
-
My first pp unit would have Danny as the weakside shooter, not on the point. I'd put Knight at center to win the draw and wreak havoc in front of the net. Danny as weakside shooter and playmaker. Rowney as the third forward, Mattson and Simpson up top My 2nd pp unit would be Grimaldi at center put then roll to the weakside shooter and playmaker. Parks to wreak havoc around the net, and O'Donnell on the stronside. Schmaltz and Gleason up top.

100% concur with one exception- I wrote almost the identical post this afternoon at work, which i lost due to not being logged in. Oh, and Wilbur- I am by no means an expert- I play one on the internet : ) My one change is that I put Schmaltz with Mac and Mattson with Forbert- give the rookie first rounder some padding with the MAC truck

Yup- apparently they are trying to find the fastest way to get the the highest alcohol content into your bloodstream- so just bypass the stomach and everything your body has built to protect it from too much alcohol. Yes, as John Bonham and the drummer prior to Peter James Bond in "Spinal Tap" can't attest to- drunken vomit aspiration is a big deal
-
with you on that...I am probably most concerned that the team didn't look out for them either...your team is supposed to be your family, and yes, you initiate the new boys, but you don't wash your hands of them if they are way, way drunk.
-
You are where I was over the weekend and monday. I think a lot of folks are just concerned with the risks. Look, none of us were there, so we don't know exactly what went down. The team (players that is) sanctioned a night of very heavy boozing. If no 911 call, then none of this plays out beyond a practice from hell, but once it becomes that public, it has to be addressed- it has been, and everyone will move on. Hopefully the better for it.

Good not to have the #1 hanging on your back to start the season. I think it really shows the depth and skill the Gophs and Sioux have to be ranked so highly with unproven goaltending.
-
yes, we'll field a team- should result in some good early season conditioning for the boys that aren't sitting.

I think one of the big differences is, when someone you were with (or you, yourself) were puking and passing out drunk- so was everyone else you were around. I have to think that if I had come across myself or some of my friends after an extraordinary drunk evening while I was stone sober, I would've probably been concerned too. Generally we put a bucket by them and tossed a coat or some blankets on them and passed out ourselves. I stand by some of my earlier comments in that you can't always protect people from themselves, but I think the RA did the right thing. I also think that the message has been sent and received. If the kids are doing some of the things I've been enlightened about- eye shots, tampons soaked in booze- that needs to be corrected. If they are doing 20 shots- that needs to be corrected. If at the freshmen party they encourage them to shotgun a six pack of beer- well, can't condone it, but that is where I was with the boys will be boys thinking.
-
RA was doing his/her job. You can't fault them for being cautious. Were those guys in serious trouble or were they just drunk? No way to tell without more facts. Clearly they were very drunk. Glad no serious harm done. Time to move on and drop the puck.

Came out while I was responding. I traded a note with someone about this surge in what I would characterize as mental health illness type drinking. I've been out of undergrad for 13 years- seems like things have changed

Pretty good, and might bother me if it had any merit- Now, just as in back in the day, I go to bed a happy man and wake up a happy man. I have no complaints about any aspects of my life- least of all the attractiveness of my wife. In fact, I am extremely lucky and very grateful for not only my personal gifts and talents, but also that I have been fortuitous enough to reap the benefits of them.

No nerve struck, I am just really surprised by the pugilist approach is all. Violence is generally not accepted by normal people. For the record, I not only got her to go home with me; I got her to marry me.
