officials are missing a pretty good game out there tonight...
-
They try to, but in this case, that would be subordinate to two rules that they are definite on- #1 seeds go closest to home in rank order, and host schools go to the Regional they are hosting. This is an odd duck year too in that the theoretical 15 and 16 seeds are actually pretty decent in pwr ranked 17 and 21 respectively. Its not like one is a complete cupcake.

NCHC: 4 Hockey East: 5 Big 10: 2 ECAC: 3 WCHA: 1 Atlantic: 1

There is no way the timing is right on that story. It would take him at least 15 minutes to drive to the rink, park, and rush to get his equipment on.
-
They're both really good guys- I can remember when I was actually better at hockey than they were...back in about 1991 : ) and that was only because I was older!

As of tonight, my bracketology: St Paul- 1. NoDak vs 15. Minnesota 8. Michigan vs 9. BU Worcester- 4. Providence vs 13. UMD 5. BC vs 11. Harvard Albany- 2. QU vs 16. RMU 7. Yale vs 10. Notre Dame Cinci- 3. SCSU vs 14. MTU 6. DU vs 12. Lowell St Paul and Worcester are attendance dreams... Count those Natty's in St. Paul...region of death
-
Really don't like the idea of playing Goofers in the cities when they are the dog. I also think that UND and DU and SCSU are the cream of the west, so having two of them play pre-frozen four is too bad. In my opinion, two of those three should make the four.

Niagara Falls is a LONG way from Manhattan! -
It matters for seeding- which determines where you go if you're not a host school and whether or not you are home or away for purposes of things like line changes.
-
Strength of schedule- Robert Morris 50th, UMN 4th
-
Usually they start by placing hosts in their regionals and then #1 seeds closest to home in order of seeding. Whomever finishes higher in the PWR between SCSU and UND (assuming both stay #1 seeds) will get the X.
-
Depends what else everyone's opponents and opponents opponents do...
-
I'm rusty- can't believe I forgot the auto bids. today, Gophers and Dogs would both be out- assuming higher PWR team wins the conf tourney-

My bracketology Albany: 1. Quinnipiac vs 15 UMD (swapped with MInny due to hosting and intraconference match) 8. Yale vs 9. Notre Dame Excel: 2. NoDak vs 16 Minnesota (host) 7. DU vs 10. BU Worcester 4. Prov vs 13. UNO 5. BC vs 11. Harvard (swapped with Lowell due to intraconference) Cinci 3. SCSU vs 14. Penn State 6. Michigan vs 12. Lowell The X and Worcester would be attendance dreams...
-
So...ceteris paribus...if the NCAA post season started tomorrow the Excel would likely have: UND vs Minnesota Denver vs BU Region of Death returns!
-
I hypothesize that Schmaltz is dealing with some kind of nagging injury- thats where my mind goes when a star player is just not quite what he's been and we're at the end of the season...
-
I really liked the lineup tonight. I thought there was good chemistry on all 4 lines.
-
I am starting to really hate Omaha....cheap, cheap team.
-
how are those participation banners?
-
How homer are these clowns...ND's better at clutch and grab than Omaha??? Let's talk about draft picks...

Battle for the Penrose and postseason positioning
yzerman19 replied to UND-RedSox fan's topic in Men's Hockey
Not sure who is a better playoff draw: WMU or CC...very different styles...both able to steal a game. I think CC is more skilled, but WMU is better coached. Short of a complete collapse, and a bunch of out of the top 16 teams winning their conference tourneys, we are a lock for the NCAAs. We need to be working on the things that work in the NCAAs: special teams, top lines logging a ton of ice, tight officiating Our key to making a nice run at #8 is to make sure CBS is healthy, Cam getting super hot again, getting a timely goal or two from depth players and dmen, winning draws, unveiling a new PP look that teams will not have seen on tape. I'd consider a resurrection of the DOT powerplay, with Boeser setting up shop in Duncs' old office... -
UND FIGHTING HAWKS vs. UMD Bulldogs - SATURDAY Gameday
yzerman19 replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Assuming we get Chyz back, I am thinking about a line chart like this: 1. CBS 2. Chyzk centering Gersich and Pogo 3. Rhett centering JJ and LJ 4. Simonson centering Sanderson and Olson Gage and Stecher Poolman and LaDue Wolanin and Shaw -
UND FIGHTING HAWKS vs. UMD Bulldogs - SATURDAY Gameday

Everyone keeps ignoring the fact that not only did Pogo have a good chance, but he had a teammate crashing on the opposite wing. That contributing factor tips it to the PS in my opinion.
