  1. Big Sky: Sac state is going, Portland state might be next. That would drop the BSC down to 6. Add NDSU, SDSU and you're back to 8. That leaves UNC which is underfunded and has only a 6500 seat stadium. UND OTOH could get proper funding and has the 12000 seat Alerus. The only question would be can the Alerus be expanded to 15000?
  2. The whole NCC isn't capable. USD, Augi, SCSU, MSUM, UMD, and UNO would all have a very hard time moving up financially. SDSU may even struggle for a while.
  3. I also said nothing about a stadium. Many DI teams have an indoor practice facility which is nothing more than a covered practice field in case of bad weather.
  4. Indoor football facility? Why when you already have the Alerus? Stick a couple practice feilds over there, put a weight room and meeting rooms in it and practice out of the lockers already there.
  5. You might be seeing this team in the DII playoffs if you make it that far. Be careful which NDSU opponent you suggest as non competitive.
  6. This is exactly right. Delta SU, MS Valley SU, and Jackson SU are Valley City State, Mayville State, and Dickinson State. Mississippi just has more people.
  7. NDSU recruits in state athletes first. Bohl has said this numerous times. Basically, UND recruits anyone that NDSU is recruiting. Standard operating procedure.
  8. Yeah, it's not like they are accredited or anything... And it's not like they offer up to a doctorate degree... And it's not like they are accredited in the same programs as NDSU NDSU-regional accred. (NCA) Delta-regional accred. (SACS) Delta accred: Art, Counseling, Family & Consumer Science, Music, Nursing, Nursing Education, Teacher Education NDSU accred: Art, Counseling, Music, Nursing, Nursing Education, Teacher Education Note: I only listed programs that I know both schools share. I found this information in a publication put out by the American Council on Education called Accredited Institutions of Postsecondary Education, and I tried to create a link to their website, but apparently something is down.
  9. Delta state is an outstanding academic instiution.
  10. Perhaps he's a Denver student from Fargo who enjoys hating the Sioux.
  11. As far as the people of ND are concerned, I think they want to see NDSU and UND compete once again. Perhaps that will happen as a Big Sky Conference game, someday?
  12. You call your hockey team DI when really you're DII, so what's the difference?
  13. So if NDSU and SDSU joinied the Big Sky and NDSU won it in FB and SDSU in BB, would you consider that a success?
  14. Humans were never meant to BE outdoors in ND winter weather. Having a dome for the winter is just a commitment to your fans that you care about their comfort and saftey.
  15. Another interesting thing, UND has a lot more sports that aren't core sports of the Big Sky (assuming that's where the non-hockey sports want to end up). Would they be cut to save money? NDSU and UND both have men's golf which could be cut. Neither have men's tennis which would need to be added. NDSU doesn't have women's tennis. UND has both men's and women's swimming and hockey. Obviously hockey will stay but swimming could go. Both have baseball and softball which could possibly stay, but would have to be independants.
  16. The problem with this idea is simple: the Big Sky has "core" sports that it requires. Every school in that conference must have those sports. Any other sports are extra. So, to start a hockey program (one on level with UND) would cost many millions and probably generate very low interest as no one cares about hockey at those schools. In fact, I wonder if people at UND care about hockey because they like hockey or simply because UND has one of the best teams in the nation. Sort of like asking if supply can create demand.
  17. Bison build offense around North Dakota native by DAVE KOLPACK. From your very own GF Herald, no less. Interesting, Sioux fans possibly going to revolt against RT?
  18. Weird...it's almost as if WDAY is a Fargo station and not a GF station. Keep UND news on the GF stations please. Thank you.
  19. GF-Saint Cloud, 255 mi. GF-Duluth, 263 mi.
  20. Yeah...so anyone care to guess when UND will join NDSU in the D1AA ranks? The Minneapolis paper even said the Gophers are considering a FB game with us soon, I bet UND would love a chance to get the Gophs in football.
  21. ... NDSU has established a conference in D1AA and shown UND that the move is not only possible but has been completely solidified, NOW what do you think the chances of UND moving up are?
  22. Pretty sure there are no good levels.
  23. I've been to the REA. It was obnoxiously over done as if its builder was dying. That a way Ralph, do the exact opposite of what you did to build your fortune. Not that UND cares about you, they just wanted your money to get their precious figure skaters out of that horrible dump.
  24. Since when does someone's opinion become fact? I guess anything that praises UND is fact.
