  1. Our peers are Montana State, Idaho State, etc.
  2. "at the two flagship schools". How does your foot taste?
  3. A D2 hockey school, no less. I guess they don't want to join their peers Maine, Denver, and UNH.
  4. It's not enough to just create 5 divisions with scholorship limits. Those numbers need to be the required number of scholorships for that division. Anything else will result in underfunded and thus undeserving programs wasting the time of fully funded programs.

    Manke

Maybe they'll put on a decent show, then.
  6. I don't see anything wrong with that. Seed the best 16 teams in the country and let them go at it.
  7. The two divisions would work very well simply because all the good, big schools are going to jump off the NCAA ship and start their own league. No one is going to care about the NCAA anymore except ESPN for their football and bball title games.
  8. You've lost to a good team and beat a bunch of crappy teams. Right now you'd still get into the playoffs. No big deal.
  9. http://www.census.gov/population/cen2000/phc-t3/tab03.pdf It was 103000 in 1990, but the flood took care of some of that.
  10. You forgot Indoor track. That's a seperate sport.
  11. GF = 100000 Fargo = 180000 Where are you getting this 3 times stuff? And yes, Fargo has 3 college teams AND countless numbers of UND fans living there while GF has only UND fans.
  12. Yeah you're a real die hard to drive an hour on the interstate and then watch the game indoors.
  13. Fargo doesn't have an advantage because their are so many UND people that make up our population. 100000 GF UND fans + 40000 Fargo UND fans =140000 UND fans. 180000 Fargo people - 40000 Fargo UND fans = 140000 NDSU fans.
  14. That's simply not true for one reason: UND students move to Fargo for the good jobs. Whereas no NDSU students move to GF for obvious reasons.
  15. Right. But someone said that NDSU has a huge advantage since they have all the population, which isn't true.
  16. NDSCS= 4 sports: football, bball (M/W), and volleyball. How is that possible if by T9 you have to go by the roster size? Actually, for NJCAA schools you only need to have an equal number of sports. It's simply the way it is for NJCAA. So why couldn't a hypothetical BCS league do that? Scholarships? Fine, they'll offer no scholarships (wink, wink).
  17. The GF MSA still has almost 100000 people! That's not enough to fill the 13500 Alerus?! Cmon.
  18. You would think that recruiting would be extremely difficult with no conference and the BSA unless there is something in the works that could sell them. My guess? Miles has been telling his recruits that with a redshirt year, their senior year could look something like this: winning the Big Sky Championship in the Fargodome in front of 13000+ fans and then getting to play in the big dance. I think that would sell. If you insert REA for Fargodome, the situation could be the exact same for UND for next years class if you went this year.
  19. And if the BCS league starts getting all the NCAA teams? I'd love for NDSU to move to a BCS league where we were only "required" to keep the sports that made money so long as we complied with T9.
  20. West Fargo -> Fargo Mandan -> Bismarck The rest of those teams are a joke.
  21. The good thing about die hards, however, is that they'll still keep coming to watch even if you move it indoors. Still, I think UNC's situation would benefit from more seats.
  22. If you build it, they will come. What was UND's average attendance before/after the Alerus? Granted UND has had massive success since the construction, but the added seats have allowed the overflowing UND football following to all have seats. In the same respect, granted that this year has been a disaster for UNC, if UNC adds 10,000 seats to Nottingham, I would easily expect the average attendence to jump up. Maybe even double. Then, on top of that, I have a sneaking suspecion that the Big Sky is going to want all it's members to start working towards 15000 capacity just in case there needs to be a move to DIA.
