  1. Aff, rest easy, I believe the BSC, which wants to upgrade it's bball profile, will add SDSU for that reason.
  2. There is also the possibility that the BSC as a whole would move up to IA. I can't believe you people are still hung up on this 15000 average attendence nonsense. It's never going to be enforeced, it's a joke. I don't see why the BSC would even want to keep Sac State around. Let them dream their crazy WAC dreams just like San Jose State. Sac State might even drop football and join the Big West, who knows. I agree that the Big Sky needs to and will protect its autobid eligibility in fb and bb by expanding. Right now, I'm counting Sac State out of the BSC which drops them to 7. That means they could add up to 5 teams to reach 12 or 3 for 10. NDSU, SDSU, UND, UNC, and SUU are all possible candidates. This is first time, however, that I've ever heard of Cal Poly being interested in the Sky. I think them being in the Big West and Sac State possibly joining them there and dropping football would make CP consider doing the same like so many other CSU schools have done.
  3. The BSC is gaining respect in bball as well. I think they have big plans for bball and that is definately where SDSU would earn it's pay.
  4. All women sports usually have some attractive girls.
  5. I see UND joining UNH and UME as top ranked hockey programs with great IAA football teams as well.
  6. I think all 4 ex-NCC teams will get in, making the 8 team BSC into a two division 12 team BSC. Of course, Sac State could try and join San Jose State in the IA ranks which would make it an 11 team conference assuming Portland State doesn't also leave.
  7. You guys have probably one of the best OL coaches in DII in Mussman. It's too bad since he's obviously going to follow in Schweigert's footsteps and become a head coach somewhere. Perhaps he'll stick around until UND goes DI to see if he can get on @ a DI school. BTW, what's Kuper's story? He's from Alaska!?!
  8. The MAC idea is sound except for your 1st point, which is the main point since the main sport there is football. The 15000 attendence rule has yet to be enforced and it's easy to get around. Half of the MAC isn't going to be forced down to DIAA causing them to need more DIAA teams which is where UND would come in.
  9. I've been saying for a while now that UND is the clear cut choice for NDSU to partner with going into the BSC. A lot of guys on the Bisonville forums want SDSU simply because they have their heads lodged so far up their asses about hating UND at any costs.
  10. The Big Sky has made it clear that Football/Volleyball, Basketball, and CC/ITrack/OTrack are their main sports. Both UND and NDSU have great football facilities. I won't even argue on which is better. NDSU has more seats. Both could definitely use field turf and get that astro "stabbing knives and shards of glass" turf the hell out of there. As far as indoor goes, it's a necessity in the winter and early spring for outdoor sports. Obviously the fargodome can house ITrack and Football when needed but NDSU is also looking to either put a bubble or a structure over Dacotah field with new field turf. UND claims they're working on something. As far as Basketball and Volleyball go, everyone agrees that the Betty is the higher quality facility. Please remember, thought, that the BSA seats 7500 for those while the Betty seats 4000. Of course, the REA has the potential for 14000 if needed. CC, who cares all they need is a long path to run on. ITrack, apparently UND doesn't even have a facility. NDSU has the BSA, but flat ovals are history. The bend radius is simply too short for maximum speed to be maintained on a flat 200M oval. A banked oval is needed. So far, the best set up that I've seen is Idaho State's modular 200M/55M tracks that they set up in their football dome in the winter when football isn't in there yet. Also a perfect place to hold an indoor meet. Both schools' track programs could benefit greatly from such equipment. OTrack, NDSU has a great outdoor facility with plenty of spectator seating. I think UND's is at old memorial stadium, so they also have plenty of spectator room and probably just as good of a facility. That about does it. Overall I'd give the facilities edge to UND, but with a BSA remodel, NDSU would be pretty much right next to them in the BSC main sports.
  11. You're not even DI. There is one flaw in the plan. Indoor track is actually a sport. It's not just a time of the year when the track team gets ready for outdoor track. Indoor track requires a 200m oval and a 55m dash. However, from what it sounds like, you're simply planning to build an outdoor track with a roof over it. What you want is a modular, banked 200m oval and modular 55m dash that can be set up wherever you need it indoors (or outdoors if you choose).
  12. 36-24 is going to happen as early as next season. Why do you guys have your heads so far up your asses about a damn indoor practice facility!?! Only the best of the best DI schools in the whole nation have such facilities. If you did build it, there goes another $10 million. Not only that, but you have the Alerus. Why wouldn't you want the whole football operation to run out of there? Training, weights, coaches offices, meeting rooms, locker rooms, and the facility itself is an indoor practice facility.
  13. Exactly. And I can guarantee that FSN wouldn't use any of UNC's equipment either. They're more familiar with their own stuff and know what to expect from their own crew. End of story.
  14. Those production costs are already built into their budgets. Plus they pay their own crew for a reason: they know exactly what they're going to get each time.
  15. Roehl is a FB, not a HB, and a good one too. I thought the reason that the Betty was built was so that hockey could have the REA since it's not very good for bball. Neither a satillite uplink nor a control room is an important thing to have built into a venue as most TV stations have portable trucks that they take with them.
  16. Saint Cloud always picks up good kids from the metro area. They'll have a tough team.
  17. SDSU does have something to offer the sky that neither UND or NDSU can offer in their bball teams. I hate to tell you, but the Sky doesn't have hockey as a conference sport. Not to put down the WCHA or anything, but the SKY isn't going to care about your hockey program or the REA.
  18. I think NDSU SDSU and UND will all get in.
  19. Perhaps the allure of DI is just too strong for some athletes.
  20. They play on the same stuff as Augi's stadium. IE Fake grass with some sort of fill in (all rubber or sand/rubber).
  21. I think you're thinking of the CFL. Not exactly sure that UMB doesn't play by those rules, but I doubt it. The CFL just does that to be different from the NFL. Same with Arena.
  22. Have you guys ever played or considered playing the U of Manitoba's football team? I would've never thoguht of it but there is a guy who is playing for the Vikings who is from there, so they must have decent players. Might be a good game. Who knows?
  23. We also had an NCC crew for our Carson game and they ALSO had an inadvertant whistle.
  24. Pretty sure that most of the guys who did go to NDSU on this board were in the engineering or business colleges.
